Our Trip With "targrent

At 25.07.2012 I ordered in “Targarent” Company a rental car by “Booking Group” for my trip from 27.07.2012 to 04.08.2012.The car I booked was “Renault Megane”. I had to pick it up in Milan Airport Malpensa and had to drop it off in Venice airport. I prepaid all payment by internet and in 27.08.2012 I arrived with my family to pick it up.

In the Malpensa Airport a representative said they didn’t have the particular car and offered me a car ‘like this one’. The car was “Great Wall Hover 5” (plate EG518BY). Actually the car they suggested was larger and it takes a petrol much more than “Renault Megane”, but it’s also known that in the middle of the summer is very difficult to pick up what you want. In the desperate state I paid by credit card all the payments including the insurance deductible in case of any accidents. I asked someone to go and checkup the car and the answer was if you have paid all the payments there is no need to checkup and your car is ready to use.

I signed the receipt of the car, took the key and went with my children to the car. For visual looking it was okay, but soon while the driving it became clear that the car wasn’t ready and was dangerous to operate on the road!

I drove the car to the mountains and when we were entering the first tunnel I found that headlamp beam in the left side didn’t shine, when we were drove up a hill the clutch of the car was slipping, the car could not go up the hill and we smelled the reek of the burning clutch inside the car. Due to the bad adjustment of the clutch, constantly the motor was stalling. The car took the petrol much more than quota. We were in the Switzerland Alps for a short holiday and didn’t have time to look for an office of your company in the mountains for the opportunity to change the car. I was praying to get to Venice without accidents or fines from traffic police. There were trains of cars behind us on the roads. It was a terrible holiday and this our short holiday we waited for all year was spoiled because of the car that “Targarent” Company gave us.

Never Rent With Targaret

We rented a car through Targarent (location Aeroport Bari. The car didn't responded to the keys so I went back to the desk. He sent a machanic and he changed the battery. The carfinally worked. The car had bumps and was dirty. The fueltank was almost empty so I had to refill the tank immedaitly.

After two weeks I went with the car to Lecce (200 km from the hotel) then the car went down. The battery failed again (I think is was the dynamic who reloads the battery). I called car assitance. They promised me the would call back and I would get a english employee to help me futher. After two hours while the temperature was almost 40 degrees they didn't responded. I called about 5 times but they promised me they would call back.

I decided the leave the car in Lecce and took a train and taxi, together 130 euro. In the hotel I asked the hotel employee to call car assistance and they promised her tot call back, ofcorse they didnt'. The next day they finally called back but then they couldn't fine the rentalagreement number in their system so they couldn't help me. Finally I got the rental desk of targarent at aeroport Bari and he called car assistance with the right rental number. Then the car was finally picked up from Lecce.

The next day we went tot the aeroport to leave Italy but the cost for the taxi weren't returned. So I had to pay about 230 euro. The men at the desk wouldn't return the taxi-costs.

So I will never rent again from Targarent. I also filled complaints tot auto-europe (who do business with Targarent)for the bad service of targarent.

I Rent A Car For A Week. We Got A Fiat Punto.

I rent a car for a week.

We got a fiat punto...this car had demages on five places...they were not on the papers!

Wen we came back one of these demages..was a newe one said the inspector!

There were sicx persones how knew that the damages was on teh car when we became the car!! They refused to return the surenty. So never hire a car at this company!!

It is a very bad company!

We had the same problem. We rent Citroen Jumpy from Bergamo airport and it was also damaged. On the tird day of our holidays the glass broke. We called to all the people from that company and nobody helped us. They suggest us to leave the car in technic service and come to Genova to pick new car. But there is no Targarent service in Genova. Anyway, we came to the airport to talk with people who work there. I have never seen such unprofessional emloyees. They let us think that this is our problem. We asked to talk with their boss but they stupidly said that he is sick. The most stupid alibi I ever heard!They also said that we wouldnt have to pay for the glass. But the glass was broken before we rented the car.

The company is very bad as it is employees. I am gonna take them to court.

Reserved Through Budget. Went To The Targarent De

Reserved through Budget. Went to the Targarent desk at the Catania airport per the instructions received when I made the reservation. The desk clerk spoke English well enough. The car had a small dent not shown on the forms, but he signed off on that when I showed it to him. I turned the car in before they opened and dropped the key in the box. I wrote [email protected] requesting a receipt and got it the next day. No unexpected charges.

Our Car Broke Down In A Small Town In Sicily. When

Our car broke down in a small town in Sicily. When we called roadside assistance, they sent someone to tow the car but had no plan for us. The closest Targarent location with a new car was two hours away. We were told over the phone to take a taxi, which they would reimburse us for, to get us to Catania to get a new car. When we arrived, they assured us in person that we would be reimbursed for the taxi service we had to pay for ourselves, which was 280 Euros. Now they are claiming there wasn't anything wrong with the car and that they do not understand why we contacted roadside assistance. They are refusing to reimburse the money. For your own sake, do not do business with these liars and cheaters.

I Have Never Written A Review Before Today - But I

I have never written a review before today - but I'm so incensed that I have too warn other about this firm.

I was told the car had no damage when I checked it out on the 27th. I went to the car and looked it over and did not see anything out order. However, when I returned the car on the 1st of Oct, I was told that there was some damage done to left rear lower bumper behind the tyre. I had glanced area this area when I checkout the vehicle but had mistaken the marks for mud splatter. I told this story to the car rental agent and he told me that I should have checked it over better. The conversation between us started to heat up with my denials and his instance that I would have to pay for it. As to prove a point, while I was talking to him, another customer who had just check out a car came back in and wanted her rental car condition amended as the agent did not have all the damages marked on the records. I then pointed to the agent, and said "see you make mistakes all the time" . He said, your right, we do. Your fuel was lower than when you got it. I will have to charge you for fuel too.

He did this out of spite and I told him this was "extortion" he then looked very threatening at me and told me to be very careful when I use that word as it my have greater consequences than I think.

At this point, I began to fear for my safety and signed the paperwork and left. This is the FIRST time I have ever been charged for damage to a rental car.

I will not rent from this company ever again

We Rented A Car Few Days Ago With This Firm. Unfor

We rented a car few days ago with this firm. Unfortunately my credit card was stolen one week before the moment of the rent. When we arrived to the desk, the employed started to say that we don't have the "voucher of reservation". After a short a discussion he apologised and accepted the reservation email.(of course with the number of reservation)

After that, I told him about the credit card and He did not want to accept my girlfriend's credit card (the last year she lent her credit card to a friend, and the company dindn't say anything).

Then He said to us that The only way to fix the problem was a cheat. We have to pay an extra charge of 120' in order to make my GF the first driver of the agreement (but she doesn't have license!!!!). The real concept of that extra charge it's an insurance fee, but We have already payed an insurance.

summarizing, this firm use my bad luck in order to improve its own profit

We Hired A Car Via Budget, However They Brokered I

We hired a car via budget, however they brokered it to Targarent.

Picking up the car was a lengthy action. It took the woman behind almost half an hour to make the necessary copies and prints, and she needed all kind of information we already entered on internet when booking the car.

When returning the car there was no car park available,so we needed to double park the car.

Dropping of the keys went very fast.

Targerent charged us almost 50 euro's from our credit card, however we delivered the car without any damage and with a full tank. We got no reply on our request for clarification.

We Rented A Car Through Holiday Autos Who Then Bro

We rented a car through Holiday Autos who then brokered a deal through Targarent. Pick up at naples airport went ok. Car was in ok condition i.e. it could have been a lot worse. Drop off went without a hitch I gave the keys to the car hire rep who noted no concerns to me. Although giving the keys to some guy in a car park was not the best. I'd much rather give the keys to an office. Anyway on return we found an extra '70 had been charged to my credit card. . The car was full of petrol and the car was not damaged in any way expect for scratches etc noted upon receiving the car. I could think of no reason why this money has been taken. We reported this through Holiday autos and requested our maney back. This they duly sorted and its been put back on the card. Well done Holdiday Autos and boooooooo to Targarent. I can only think it was either an admin error or they were trying to steal from me.

I Booked A Car Through The Economycarrentals And

I booked a car through the economycarrentals and they wrote to me that I have to take a car in Targarent office in Torino Airport. When we came to this office and tried to get our car the woman in the office said she will not give us a car because she doesn't like our documents (or she didn't like we were Russians???) Although we gave her all the documents required she just said "I will not give you a car, that's it. Don't waiste my time" Our documents were fine for ALL rental offices in the same place including SIXT, Hertz, Avis, National etc. - about -10 other rental offices said "Yes, we'll give you a car with these documents" Probably, only Targarent have some special requirements (or that particular woman?) We didn't have time to go to another Targarent office and just rented a car in Avis in the same airport. But I would NEVER recommend you to use Targarrent - Customer service is awful. And we were treated the way I've never was treated before in any civilized country!
