I Rented An Full Sized Suv Ford Explorer Or Equiva

I rented an full sized SUV Ford Explorer or equivalent for a five day rental through the website www.carrentalexpress.com from Routes Car & Truck Rental. The website gave this company impressive reviews so I thought I'd go with it.

After I made the reservation the reply came back saying their location was not actually in the airport but only 10 minutes away. They said call them when I arrived and they would come pick me up.

So when my flight arrived I called and they told me I would have to meet them their specific pickup point which happened to be at the opposite end of the airport. No problem I trudged all the way to the far end of the terminal thinking by the time I get there so should they. I waited another 40 minutes for this beat-up smelly old car with two grubby men that told me to get in.

It took another 45+ minutes to reach their rental office which was in an abandoned complex. I was really not in the mood for what came next. After they tried desperately to sell me additional insurance and I declined as my credit card and my personal vehicle insurance both cover car rentals.

Then I wanted to see the vehicle they planned to give me. They were five guys behind the counter all looking at me with interrogating eyes and one of them pointed to the smallest Kia SUV. I tried to simply reason with them and pointed out on the agreement that this with not the standard of vehicle I had rented.

They all looked at me shrugging their shoulders and said that's what we're giving you. I was already over 1 1/2 hours late for appointments and decided to suck-it-up. When I started the well used 4+ year old vehicle the gas gauge showed 3/4 of a tank. Again I pointed this out and got shrugged shoulders.

I was not impressed with this vehicle to say the least, it was far from what was quoted.

After my return home I went back into www.carrentalexpress.com to write my review but you get a strange feeling that Routes Car Rental must own or have an interest in this website.

I will stick with the better known companies like Budget or Enterprise in the future.
