Do Not Use This Company
Through economy car rental, i received a quote from Alamo at melbourne airport for a rental car from july 16-20.
l. the operation seems to be operatedd mainly by Redspot Car Rental and the location was very hard to find.
2. i had waited for almost one hour because there were two people at the counter who were very very slow in serving customers.
3. when i was given the vehicle, the lady who signed me in told me that there were some minor damages to the vehicle, including a chip on the windscreen. she had given me a pink slip to identify these areas. she even told me that its all on record and i will not be held responsible.
4. today when i tried to return the vehicle, the office was packed with customers and therefore we just have to leave the keys with staff.
5. on my return to sydney, i received an email from Redspot Car Rental and a phone message saying that they have charged me over $1100 for the chip on the windscreen.
to me this is highway robbery. i am going to dispute but in the meantime would caution all those who are thinking of renting vehicles from this company. if you dont have time to wait (SAY FOR ONE HOUR APPROX.)for them to inspect your vehicle on return, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
