Car Hire Service At Faro Airport

Excellent service, given a new car at Faro Airport, had only 1200km.

I collected the car at the airport onsite, everything was explained in details, along with zero excess cover. Well done to the staff who served me.

Will use again!

Terrible Service And Rip Off.

I recently hired a car in Majorca with this Company . Quite expensive but they guaranteed no

hidden charges. I had to pay for a full tank of petrol when I got a there but was told this would be

totally refunded when I returned it with a full tank. When I received the confirmation from them I saw the company was Goldstar who had ripped me off for £200 on a trip to Barcelona. I rang Carrentals and told them I didn't want any dealings with this Company but they assured me that Carrentals being the agents , they would be responsible and there would be no problems. When I returned the car I filled it with petrol to the brim actually at the airport so it was as full as I could get it. Despite this there was a £16 shortfall in the amount credited back to me. Not a large amount but the whole principle of the thing annoyed me to the extreme. I phoned Carrentals and they have fobbed me off for weeks saying they were dealing with it. I phoned them again today and it was the same person I have dealt with and cut off my phone call ! Disgraceful Company .Avoid them !

I have now received an apology from Car Rental Abroad and they refunded my overpaid amount. They informed me that Goldstars explanation for the charge was fluctuation of currency which was ludicrous . Car Rentals informed me that one of their staff had dealt with my case throughout and said he had been out of order. This was true as I'd got emails from the person in question. They have phoned me recently and apologised again offering me a discount if I book with a them in future. I felt that the person who rang me was very genuine so shall book with them again. I have dealt through them for many years and this was my first problem.

Brilliant Experience And No Hidden Charges

left message and was contacted back by a very helpful man, awnsered all my questions and told me all prices and charges upfront, no hidden costs at all. The staff at faro airport were very friendly and dealt with us efficiently the car was clean and exactly what we where expecting. On return of the vehicle our experience was much the same and took no time at all. No problems and will definitely book with them again. There is nothing negative to report. I booked through them because most car hire companies insist on credit card which I don't have, car rental abroad accept debit cards which was perfect for us . 5 star rating.

Excellent Efficient Service - Thumbs Up!!

No problems at all. Car was very good, had only done 1900km. Was easy to collect from Faro Airport. I was explained in detail with no hidden costs. Fuel policy was good, given half tank had to return the same.

Will use again, thumbs up!!

Worst Car Hire Ever

Car Rentals Abroad advertise that they use Avis, Hertz and other premium car hire company's , well not in Faro apparently! Our car came from a company called Kings, it was filthy inside with stains all over the seats and 33,000 km on the clock. They charged 15euros to get the car out of the car park, something I have never come across before.

Kings very kindly put the cost of the rental on the paperwork which showed CRA were taking a 40% margin.

The worst aspect about this is having sent a complaint to CRA they have completely ignored it. Never again.

Terrible Car, Terrible Service

Carhireabroad partner with Travelrent in Faro, who were quite simply awful:

- we were made to wait in a queue for 2.5 hours in the midday sun (temperatures above 30 degrees) with no shade, or water provided . This is ridiculous given the boast of 'no need top wait', and, if nothing else, dangerous.

- When I eventually got to the front of the queue, I was told that " it had been like this (i.e the queues) all day " , and therefore was due to them being under prepared as opposed to the scheduling of flights. We were then told that they had no cars, and made to wait another 15 minutes until one turned up.

- The car we were given was an absolute wreck, with bumps/scratches all over. I was told that I had ten minutes to leave the car park - silly when I had to locate the car on my own, pack all the luggage and try to find the exit to the car park.

- I was given no opportunity to walk around the car with the representative of Travelrent and discuss any issues. I returned to express my concern and was told that they were not interested in bumps and scratches and to simply mark these on the counter copy of the vehicle inventory of the rental agreement (at no stage was I asked to sign this despite the fact that it forms part of the rental agreement).

- I wrote to complain and they have completely ignored me!

Fantastic Rental, Very Efficient Service & Value For Money

Our vehicle was ready at Faro airport; it was quick and easy to collect the car. The car was clean and almost new. The tolls process was explained to us; now using a transponder.

I will definitely use carentalabroad next year and recommend you to friends, will not be going anywhere else for my hire cars
