Excellent Service, Will Use Again
Was not going to use Car Hire Agency having read all the negative reviews here. However, the current owners have no association with the previous company, so I was willing to give them a go. Was pleasantly surprised. The car I received was first class and from a top car rental company (Budget). Price was very competitive.

These people are basically crooks. They ran the business for several years then this year took everyones money and stole it. They run through affordable car hire who also have some issues to address by sending out vouchers for budget etc before The carhireagency had sent them the money. this meant everyone thought they ahd paid and got a voucher and had there car booked with a hire company. Not so. I suggest that like me you all send your details to [email protected] which is a BBC wales consumer program also at X-Ray, BBC Wales, Llandaff, Cardiff, CF5 2YQ. This company was in Wales and their holding limited company still is so if Xray get enough info from you they may investigate and at least give these crooks a hard time. Google the carhireagency and find their web details and you will find the holding company name as well as the names and addresses of the individual people who stole your money.

I TOTALY AGREE, USED THEM FOR YEARS,PAID WITH CREDIT CARD BRILLIANT SERVICE THEN PAID BY BANK TRANSFER AND BANG, MONEY GONE.
No Luck With Insurers So Far
Tried to claim lost monies from insure and go, but they seem to be unwilling to pay out as car hire agency acted as a brooker not a car hire company it's self, has anyone had any luck so far claiming on insurance?
We are insured with insure and go as well, they told us the company must be declared insolvent before it will look at our claim I have spoken to the official receiver office in cardiff and they have told us that by late september/early october it will be decided if florida direct properities which owns carhire agency can be declared insolvent ,so we will have to wait and see.Got a feeling even if they are declared insolvent insure and go will still not pay out we shall see

Totally frustrated that Carhireagency.com has taken our money and not forwarded it to budget for our car hire. We have to pay the total again. No contact details for claiming back. But noticed that there is a website for Carhireagency.com and when you go onto the site and click support it takes you to rental cars. I emailed rental cars for more information and why the where advertising under carhireagency.com. They replied that they could not claim money back for me from another company. Feeling as though they have taken over carhireagency.com and fobbing me off. Will contact them again for a better explaination.
i had the same happen to me.Paid last september and had to pay again.Apparently you can claim some money back if there is any left after the tax offic ehave got their share.Anyone else out there got information about claiming something back.
You stated that there is a web site Carhireagency.com, - this web site now shows that they have ceased trading. Did you mean another web site of carhire-agency.com? If so then this is a different company and as such it's not their problem.

Ran Off With Everyone's Money
I, like everyone else it seems, have been the victim of this companies insolvency (at best) or simply running off with our money. We had a call from the car hire company (AVIS I think) saying they never received the money from the Car Hire Agency (also know as Florida Properties Direct and still trading, according to Companies House). We had to pay again for the car hire for our holiday leaving us £350.00 out of pocket. They are uncontactable and left no indication of what was happening prior to the holiday. We would have been at the airport with no booking and no transport had the car hire company not contacted us. I can only presume these people are on a beach somewhere with all our money laughing at us because no-one else seems to be able to offer an explanation. We had used them twice in the past and had no problems. Lesson learnt - pay on credit card and NEVER bank transfer to an intermediary. Still disgusted with the whole affair.
We are in the same boat I have reported it to the fraud department also trading standards but nothing has happened I thing I did find out was that the company was run by a family called (name removed) from there home address and that a (name removed)(Who I spoke to and took our order as well as our money) was made insolvent in 2008 yet was still working for the firm and the rest of the family were operating the company ,and by chance i found out that there home from where carhireageny was operating was up for sale

Just got a call from Affordable carhire to advise me the carhire agency has ceased trading!!! They advised me that they hadnt been paid by them and that i would have to pay again. To be fair to them they said they would honour the amout that i had to the car hire agency. Paid £650 in bank xfers and no doubt i`ll not see any of the monies. That will teach me not to use my credit card.I had used them many times before and never had any problems with them.I paid my last payment around 30/06/2012, so they must have know they were in trouble or just took the money and committed fraud.Affordable carhire advised that some people have advised trading standards and the police but dont think anything will come off it. Just have to pay the monies again and take on the chin. Off to florida in sep 12.

WE ARE IN THE SAME BOAT INSURED WITH INSURE AND GO BUT GOT TO PROVE COMPANY IS INSOLVENT I HAVE SPOKEN TO FLEXIBLE CAR HIRE WHO WERE DEALING WITH CARHIREAGENCY AND THEY WILL INFORM ME IF THEY HEAR ANYTHING AS THEY ARE KNOW AS LITTLE AS WE DO

Re Car Hire Agency. I paid by Bank Transfer and the Bank say they have no responsibility as this is classed as a cash transaction and have advised me to find out who the Liquidators are so I can put in a claim. Does anyone know?
The directors of the Carhireagency are(were) Arthur, Carolin and Chris L Rowe. We payed in february 2400 euro. They have houses in England and Florida (trip advisor). We hope we get our money back!
Two families (Holland)
Trading standards told me that a lot of companies dealing with travel hold onto our money until last minute to get the interest from it. They also told me that the people who ran car hire agency have had their house put up for sale and that there probably won't be much if anything left in the pot for the likes of us. They also said that the hearing on rh 24th was to determin who the executors will be. I'll post anything else that I find out ASAP but I'm off on holiday tomorrow.
I also booked with them on the 5th July and paid £983.25. I contacted the hire company Affordable Car Hire to be told that they had not received any money from Car Hire Agency for my booking.
What I do not understand is if you paid Car Hire Agency in February why has it taken so long for Affordable Car Hire not alert you of non payment.
Thanks for that! I've been in touch with trading standards and they are looking into it as well. Let you know if i hear any more and vice versa!!
Gone Bust With My Money???
Traveling tomorrow to Orlando, found out today that car hire agency hasn't paid the rental people, so we have no car!!! No contact by phone, no website think they are gone with £930 of my money!!! Had to repay and hopefully claim back off travel indurance
Please advise if you're successful with your insurers. I'm having no joy with mine! (AXA)
We have the same problem!!!! We have to repay, 2400 euro's!!!!! To claim back off travel insurance is probably not possible. What do we have to do???

WE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM! We paid also the rental people, THE CAR HIRE AGENCY. We paid 2400 EURO!!! For two cars. We also have to repay, otherwise we have no car. We have no money tree in the garden so we want to know what to do now. It's a very bad situation. Keep us informed.

I have been trying to look at the Car Hire Agency website that advertises on here but get a "403 Forbidden" error. I also tried searching and going to the website that way.
