Ascot Car Rental, Australia

I hired a car from Ascot in NSW for one week time and returned it in time with no problem. They were meant to return my Bond back but did not refund in due date. Couple of weeks after the due date to return the Bond as I did not get the bond back , I called them for several times and each time they committed to refund it immediately. Later,I decided to send an email and ask to refund my bond. I sent emails and each time they apologised and committed to return it immediately but they did not. When I did not receive my money back , I let them know that if I do not receive my money back I will need to Lodge it in Fair Trading, but neither they return my money nor replied my email. So, I lodged the complaint in Fair Trading and later I received an email from their trading that the committed to refund my money back and send me the evidence the next day. But again I did not receive my money. I called Fair Trading and advised that they have not paid my money back and they advised to lodge it in Tribunal. I waited again for more that 2 weeks and as I did not receive my Bond back, I lodged it in Tribunal. Tribunal invited me for a Conciliation and hearing. Early morning the day I had the invitation with Tribunal, they had no other way but to refund my money and I received it! I have decided to stand away from Ascot for ever as it does not worth it. There are many options much better than Ascot in the Market I believe.

Ascot Car Rental Sydney Melbourne. A huge regret using this company. Don't be fooled by low prices. Also check out Tripadvisor for more reviews. It took months and months to get my deposit back. Worse rental car experience ever. Had to go to Fair Trading to resolve this, even then it took a month as they provided Fair Trading with 'misinformation' about my case. The owners have no regard for their customers and seem to have a loose way with facts. Do not risk doing business with them.

I rented a car from Ascot Car Rental in Sydney in November 2014 and returned the car in good condition. I was told the $400 bond which had been deducted from my credit card would be refunded 7 days after I returned the car.

I am still waiting for that refund and have made numerous phone calls without any success.The responses to my phone calls have been getting increasingly rude and now I have been told that I can track it down myself and that that will take me a very long time.

I have contacted my bank's credit card complaints department and have lodged a merchant complaint and hopefully the money can be charged back from Ascot Car Rental's bank, as they have illegally appropriated it and are in breach of their contract, which specifies a refund of the bond after 7 days.

On checking the reviews for this company I now see that this is a common complaint from their customers.

i had my inlaws over here for a holiday in good old Sydney and we needed to hire a toyota landcruiser for 5 days - best decision i ever made was to rent with Ascot Car Rental, the rate was 50% cheaper than the other rental places and it included reduced excess, you cannot get better, i will rent from this company in xmas.

My $500 deposit was NOT returned, despite repeated statements they have lied and stolen my money - the car was returned with requisite fuel, no damage, no outstanding tolls, and they have taunted me saying 'what are you going to do about it'. DON'T TRUST THEM!!!

It has cost me $200/day to hire from ASCOT - $89/day plus $110 given my deposit was NOT returned - very unhappy with ASCOT.

i rented a car for 34 days from Ascot for only $39 per day for a new Toyota Camry. That's like half the rate compared to other car rental places, they even came and picked me up from home for free which was a top service, travelled up to Brisbane and then down to Melbourne then back to Sydney, car was fantastic, topped by a great car rental company to deal with ... Will rent with Ascot again real soon.

Horrible experience. My deposit was never returned. They charged me $403.87 for a 1 day rental of a small car. Horrible service. I have tried repeatedly to get my deposit returned and over two months later they will still not refund me. I have given up on ever getting my money back as I am no longer in the country. DO NOT HIRE FROM THEM!

We rented a car with Ascot for a 89 day rental, we travelled from Sydney to Adelaide and back, great trip, we planned this holiday for a while and finally jumped into the deep end, we hired a toyota camry and this car was fantastic, may even buy one now, the drive was the best, really enjoyed our holiday.

We found Ascot online and it was the best choice to rent with them, the rental offer was great and the service was the best as well,

we will rent with this company again.

i rented a car with Ascot Car Rental for a 10 day rental and i paid $30 a day for a new toyota corolla, this rental deal was great, i called other car rental companies and their rate was nearly double, Ascot looked after me from the get go, great people backed by better rental rates. Will use Ascot Car Rental again in the near future.

We rented a car from Ascot for 14 days for only $30.00 per day with no extra's this was fantastic best deal around, it was a new toyota corolla auto and Ascot even offered a FREE delivery service, really the service from Ascot was outstanding and the rate was even better, you cannot get a better deal, this company is worth a go.
