South Causey Lakes. At The Moment The Fishery Is U
South Causey Lakes.
At the moment the fishery is undergoing development and only has one lake open for fly fishing only. The second lake has been massivly extended and is in the process of being filled with water (24/7/09). This should soon be completed. The site has plans for a new lodge and fishing tackle shop.It currently has a porta cabin and limited amount of tackle on site. In all fairness this is because the site is being developed. The current lake that is in use has very good access for all with good disability access. It is well maintained with a footpath round the entire lake. The lake has very clear water and you can watch the fish follow and if lucky take your fly with a clarity rarely seen. The lake is well stocked with good fish of up to 18lb. The fish are very active and allthough I have not hooked in to one on my visits other anglers who have have had good sport. Prices are reasonable with a full day 2 fish ticket costing £17.50. There are a number of vairiations available. All in all a very pleasant site and when the new lake and planned developments are completed should be an impressive fishery.
Unfortunatly from the 10th November 2011 The fishery has ceased trading and is now closed for fishing.
The Second lake of the fishery at South Causey pened at the start of 2010 and like the fist lake offers good sport with a good head of Double figure fish. Although wary the fish are hard fighting an in brilliant condition. All in all a fishery I would continue to use and reccommend.
