Stay Away!!!!!

I'm going to be honest about this product and hopefully save you all a lot of grief and also your money. Last November i decided to buy the power box made by AMPS (Mk 2) i believe. All was well and paid upfront for a product i believed would reach me in time for xmas. Well this was the beginning of my problems, i didnt get the power box until January by which time xmas had long past and the first session i needed it for had also gone. When the power box finally did arrive (after much moaning on facebook to fusion carp) i was happy. It looked great, was small enough to fit in a protective case and i couldnt wait to try it out on the bank. I charged it for a solid day (12 hours) by which i was informed should be long enough to fill up the power box. I took it with me on a trip to France and by day two the unit was dead. Not to worry - the lake i was on had a power outlet and i could charge it for two days and return. I looked past this thinking well i have the power box now so ill live with the less than promised supply of power. A week or so ago i went to charge the unit for only the second time and would you believe it it wouldnt charge at all. I paid over £60 for this piece of rubbish and have had nothing but grief. Ive since been in contact with AMPS who have said they're willing to swap it for a newer / better model. This from a company who couldnt deliver it in time the first time wants me to send it back and wait another 3 months for a new box. haha. After a day or so of thinking about my options i though i have nothing to lose from sending it back... 2 weeks have past and im still waiting for the address to send it to. So sorry for the rant, i did tell the guy from AMPS that i would put a review online so i could save other anglers the bother i had to go through. Hope this helps in your endeavours finding a decent power supply for when your on the bank.

Ahh AMPS !! Maybe you would like to answer my questions in an open forum ?? seen as I was blocked from your page. Just so everyone knows what im on about, ......I asked amps to confirm before I bought his grid unit, it was as he stated double the size of a RM vault in power. YES he said so I said ok great ! I then just googled the RM to check, and I couldn't understand why it had a more powerful battery. So I just asked amps once agin is it defiantly 40ah @12v. YES I was told. still unsure I did some more googling and found the factory that make his grid, I emailed them and they told me the unit rating is 39.600mah is 3.7v not 12v !. and the unit is made with 18,3.7v 2200mah batteries (18x2200 =39600) so I put this to amps and was swiftly blocked and removed form his page. So amps why did you try miss leading me? why say your selling something you haven't got? Is it simply you don't know what your selling ? I for one would be peeed off if I bought it for that reason, and secondly to just block me from your page and not explain why is just disregarding and simply shows lack of any professionalism. All I wanted was answer's to questions before I parted with my cash ! is that to much to ask???

i guess Gilliamfi1968 has a problem with time as he seems to think a full day is 12 hours LOL

What gave you the idea that one of their mk units would last a week in france they do state yhst yhe mk 2 units are suitable for short sessions like 24 hrs sound more like your just miserable individual who is the type who doesnt read the manual i bet you didnt bother to put it on vharge after your session and left it flat unitil you going out again

Its over 9 months since you claim you ordered and august now why wait so long to review

I've never had a problem with AMP's. I can't understand that the owner would recommend a MK2 pack for a week's fishing to start with. I have a MK3 which is double the power and he told me that I would struggle with a week but I don't. And also they recommend that you charge the pack whether you use it or not. Ive just ordered my 2nd pack from AMP's and my son will have my first pack which is over 2 years old and working fine with the correct charging and looking after. If AMP's have said they will sort you out they will.

Complete Piece Of Mind And Dedicated Professional Service

i wasnt too sure what i would need to charge my phone tablet and other gadgets but the owner was really thorough in giving me all the info i could need he even forwarded info on test results from other customers the was understanding what i was after and gave me all the answers i needed

had a little bit of a wait for it to arrive but i was expecting that

upon opening the cardboard shipper and looking inside i found my pack well packaged and fully charged and ready to go

my first 48 hour session was excellent i charged my phone up about 4 times and ened up recharging my tablet 5 times and all charges were upto 100 percent and the packs power monitor had hardly moved form 12 volts i was sure that it would have used more

i also recieved some bivvy lights and a remote control

he also recommended the best way to fix my lighting inside the bivvy and once dark i was eager to se how much light would be given out i was very surprised the light was bright enough to see what i wanted to do i lso had the benefit of remote light operation so i could switch them on and off and dim it down if i felt like it was too bright

along with the pack come a user guide which gave me all the important info on recharging and keeping my pack maintained

overall amps has provided me with an essential power suppy unit that i would not be with out

the person I dealt with who is a truly professional and reputable guy who will do his utmost to make sure you are happy with the whole process from ordering to answering my silly questions fter recieving my box of joy

great work and product you will not be dissapointed

Total Waste Of Money

The bloke was nice on the phone and promised the earth, weeks later the unit turned up and was working ok.

After a few months it stopped working, a phone call was made to which I was told its basically my fault apparently! Anyway i tooth lid of to see if iI could seethe problem to with i was meet with wires all over the battery was loose ! and looked like it was stuck in with glue that didn't work very well. The wires were all soldiered on to the terminals and just looked a mess. So it was sent of to a company that was much more helpful. They replaced the wiring and sorted the problem with turned out to be because of the cheep chargers that are provided with the units. My advice dont buy from AMPS look elsewhere.

Perfect Well Built

After thinking about buying a pack i decided to settle for these guys after a a lot of research i don't know how the previous review was so bad, however i have nothing more than good to say about the company.

There packs are well built and customer service is great. i have the MK1 and at £45 i could even build my own for less than that.

will definitely be buying there security systems.

A.m.p.s. Portable Power Pack. Poor Service. Cheap Quality

The owner of this company A.M.P.S. Aka Anglers mobile power solitons gladly accepted our money and told us he would keep us up to date with the build process, but didn't. We get the power pack called: "MK4" and use it while finishing and the USB port didn't work with any cable we owned, including apple, belkin, Samsung and in branded USB charging cables. The USB port was so bad that you had to push the USB plug to the left and hold it there to work.

The owner refused to believe that his product was the problem and accused us of mistreating it and using cables that are broken. How about that for being helpful? Before we went away on our trip we asked where our remote control was for the wireless feature for the light and the owner made out that he had sent it at first and when told it wasn't in the package, he said that he forgot to fit it because he wrote on the back of his notes for our build specs. How useless. We arranged with the owner to get it returned when we came home from our trip and the owner had to correct the faulty USB port, USB cap which is very flimsy and add the wireless and send the remote control back to us when he finished the repairs and adjustments.

We were then told by the owner that he would get these problems sorted out for us quickly and it it back to us. Least he could do, right? The owner had the item at least by the Wednesday of that week and did not contact us until he was asked the following Monday what's going on. Then we were told he had family problems. Ok, that's fair enough and would be acceptable if he was have just said so. A quick simple text that he has family problems and cannot do the work to the timescales he promised, is what should have happened, but of course, didn't.

When we eventually got the power pack back, it still didn't have the wireless unit installed and yet again the owner made out that he had installed it when he was asked where the remote control was and eventually when told it's no where to be seen in the package, he then finally admits he did not install it. Feels very deliberate to me.

The owner said that he would put the wireless in it and send the remote but why should we have to go through that again? This should have been done in the first place! We were trying to decide if we wanted to just get a refund because we just don't have the time to deal with this hassle from the]is unprofessional person and company and then we decided to test to see if the USB port actually worked.... Again, can you believe it? It didn't.

The whole purpose of this product is to charge USB cabled devices through a USB port or cigarette lighter port and the USB port is useless. Therefore not fit for purpose. When we told the owner that we want a refund and to return the good not only did we get the same old, that it's our cables that don't work, even though they work fine in uk plugs and windows and Mac computers, he refused to believe it was his product at fault. This is typical of people that probably get issues with there products a lot.

Moral of this tale is to avoid the likes of the company A.M.P.S. Aka Anglers mobile power solitons and the owner because not only does he think that his products work when they don't, but he Rufus's to believe that they don't and accuses you and you working cables to be at fault.

Buyers beware. Seriously, for the amount of money this cost, I'd be better off learning how to make my own and it would cost a hell of a lot less and of course be a lot less hassle.
