On 9/8 I rented a car from the buffalo airport from Hertz car renal . Drove it 75 miles to Jamestown to attend a wedding. The next day I planned to drive to Toronto for another wedding. “Went from $668 estimate to over $1,200 -- terrible.”

Hertz FLL Cannot recommend. I haven't rented from Hertz in years and now remember why. I requested a Chev Impala only to find when I got there they had upgraded the car since my reservation which put it into a 'premium' price and wanted an additional $35 a day for a month long rental. I was upset by this upcharge, but after a long day flying here I took the Nissan Altima instead at the agreed rate. It was ok but I feel they broke my contract. “Wished, it is a good company, but experienced fake charges”

Charged on my credit card around 400 euro 1 week after I put the car back and dropped the keys. They showed me the damage, which I remembered, that it was already theirs. If you see a rear light hanging, fixed with tape, what do you think? Before knowing hertz: "The car provider fixed the damage temporarly." “Worst Travel Experience Ever”

For your own wellbeing and safety do not hire a car from this company. We hired a car whilst staying in a hill top house over looking Lake Como in Italy. It had worn brakes which did not work. We rang them up and were told to bring it in. and they would change it. We drove 100 miles down steep mountain roads and motorways to change it, risking our own safety (they did not want to bring a car to us). In total this cost us two days of our holiday. Rented a car online. As I got to the airport, I was told that the car I wanted was not the best for the climate conditions, they tried to scare me and upsale me with a 4X4 Bmw. That way I would be safe. NO NO. Than I had to find the car in the Parking. The car was parked in the wrong location. No Help. Run back to the office, wait in the cold. I hired a car for 4 days from hertz for £120. i paid for extra insurance for another £100 as abroad we were 2 hours late and nearly missed the plane due to a big traffic jam so ni time to fill the tank, which was half full when returned. guess how much they charged for 1/2 tank of fuel? £185 euroes !!! guess how much the total bill was up from £220 when i drove away thinking that was everything? £644 !!! they provided a list of trumped up charges like £105. 36 for an airport… Read Full Review

Rented from Hertz through Travelocity at the San Diego airport the week after Christmas. They charged $98.10 per day for a mid sized car. I found out later the going rate for the same car from other rental places is $19.00 to $22.00. Save yourself a lot of money and rent somewhere else. Prior to booking the car hire we had opted for Hertz as thought that they were a major reputable car hire company. On arrival at Chania airport we were told that the car class we had booked was not available for three hours as a previous customer had not returned the car on time. We were given two options which were to pay an additional 45 euros or wait for 3 hours. “Avoid Hertz in Palma Airport”

Having seen and heard recently about the rip offs being perpetrated on customers by all car hire companies,i was apprehensive on returning my Hertz car to Manchester airport after one weeks hire. Lo and behold,i was charged £55 for a superficial, barely visible scratch on a wheel trim. On returning home ,i then received an invoice for £90-a £35 service charge had been added. I rented a car at the Pasco, WA airport and was given the option to fill the gas tank up myself or pay the amount to have Hertz fill it. I chose to fill it myself but changed my mind at the counter. The representative said I could have the charge taken off when I returned the car. They did not honor this and left the charges on my final invoice. I think the manager should retrain those who work the counter so they don't mislead the customers as it happened in my situation. I will not rent… Read Full Review

Can I give Hertz no stars?? Wish that was an option!!! We have a confirmed reservation with Hertz to see our daughter, who is in the military with a 48 hour pass.
