“Rubish Customer Service ”

This company feels it is ok to take larger than expected fuel deposit and when the car is returned full and they even agree the car is full but they do not return all your Money, You contact customer services have to wait up to 30 working days for a response but they don't contact you until you phone them but you cant talk has to be email. I would not recommend anybody to use them, don't care attitude

“My son having rented a car from this company in good...”

My son having rented a car from this company in good faith, Was given a high mileage car, covered in scratches . When taking the car back, surprise surprise , a small scratc on the wing mirror ( previously there) was noted, and e311 was charged. My son then tried to argue his case, only to be met with aggression and forced to pay up.He asked for a complaints book ( law in spain) surprise surprise, he was refused access to this. My son was travelling with a six month old baby, and was bullied by Records staff. I live in Spain, and have since been told that this is Quite normal. A bad expereince which leaves a bad taste , for visitors to Spain. These practices have been exposed recently on UK tv. NEVER NEVER use this company, as there are honest decent companies at Malaga Airport.

DO NOT USE!!! -WORST CAR RENTAL COMPANY EVER We pre booked and pre paid. I was with my wife, a crying 5 yr old and a sick 1 yr old baby, 3 holdalls, pushchair & car seats (to add context to the callousness of these people) Our flight was delayed by 2 hours. All 3 Record Go desks at the airport had queues of 100+ people and a waiting time of 3 hours plus. number 1: If you pay them €50 they reduce your waiting time to around 30 minutes! number 2: Once at the front of the queue we were told that we were too late and they had cancelled our booking. number 3: Cancellations are irrespective of flight delays or circumstances we were told. It seems they have engineered the waiting time to coincide with their cancellation time...Coincidence? I doubt it.. number 4: We were then told there are no refunds. When I questioned their policies and ethics they threatened to call airport security and asked if I wanted a holiday or not.. Despicable customer service and attitude. We witnessed the very same happen to people all around us. After taxi to our hotel, we met others who had experienced very similar treatment, along with regular false claims of damage to vehicles, hire cars with bald tires, cars that are not road legal and drivers being fined by police etc etc. Please take note and avoid this company at all cost. Please join me in shaming them oublicly.

Hire car at your own risk !!!!! Hired car through rentalcar.com from RECORD GO on 08-06-18 for 8 hours . It was rainault captur. For pease of mind, I also bought full insurance from Rental car.com . When reached the counter, I was forced and pressed to take full insurance which is €61. Lady on the desk , dint want to listen anything from my end, she was on the mood of hard push insurance sell . I was advised that the insurance I have bought from rentalcar.com, it covers nothing and I may have to pay extortionate amount of money if something happened. I was shocked and quite intimidiated however rentalcar.com assured me that my full protection actually covers everything. Thanks God. Before the car was handed over to me I had to hand over €1400 deposit for the car and €64 for fuel deposit from my credit card . I had to put all the deposit because I have refused to take full insurance from the counter which I was perfectly agree with. I was also advised that if the dent or body damage is above then 2cm I have to pay. I was told there is a dent on the front side however upon inspection we found more small dent on the body which we took photos. Points to be noted that the car was kept on the dark place in parking so I couldn't really check all around. We had no collision nor any damage, journey was really good . Car was kept in secured car park in al hambra palace ,Granada for couple of hours . Story got more dramatic when we came to return this car in our scheduled time . The lady whom we handed over the key , she was more into looking for pre existing spot and she found one. It was the right hand side wing and very very light marks which I wasn't aware of at all . She dint check anything else which was suspicious. She has advised me that I will be charged . When my friend showed his frustration in nice manner, she has threatened us and in rude manner she stated that if we want to miss the flight we can start arguing with her . Knowing the fact that we have to catch flight in 2 hours so we have decided to settle down. We all passenger felt the whole situation was like pre planned. I dint take full insurance from them hence they have targeted me . Heard a lot about car rental companies but I never seen such robbery in UK what I have experienced in Malaga airport. They have pre planned and manipulated the situation. They have charged me €279 for which was really laughable. I was looking for trading standard or such in Malaga or Spain where I can complain. I would advise everyone , better go for renowned trusted rental car hire and pay extra rather than paying less upfront and ended up with extortionate amount RECORD GO car rental hand. Please Avoid !!!!!!

“Damage Charges without Substantiation or Evidence”

After 6 months of chasing answers from this company and DoYouSpain, i have finally gave up and all i can do now is warn unsuspecting customers to come. August 17 i hired a Citroen from Alicante Airport for threes days. Great car, for a change, no damage. Returned it three days later with no damage which was agreed with the handover inspector. Noticed in September all the insurance money had not been credited back. 400 Euros. In December i received two photographs alleging damage. Pity i cant post the photos, they where so poor it was clear to see these where two different cars. Lots of questions later and still no answers. Playing the language card. Warning to all, it is the unwritten policy of these companies to exploit and extract all they can when you dont sign up to all there additional costs. You waive all normal rights when you sign their Terms and Conditions of rental. Unscrupulous, underhanded and downright illegal. I travel to Spain 5-7 times a year for the last 12 years, hired a car every-time never had this issue before. Have now bought a Spanish car and pay 300 euros a year to park it at the airport. Record have without doubt the worst customer service i have ever experienced!!

“Pressured into taking out their insurance”

Hired a Nissan Qashqai for 3 days via holiday autos. Took out my own AXA insurance policy but was told it was no good and felt pressurised into taking out their insurance at 90€! It cost just £10 in the UK. The salesman made me feel like it was imperative I did this as there would be a block on my credit card of 1600€ which I was afraid if it being tied up too long! Having read other reviews I feel I’ve had a lucky escape but what was meant to be a cheap car hire has ended costing 3 x as much!! I would not rent from this company ever again. I would liked to have been informed of the cost of the insurance and amount of the block on the card prior to consideration of hiring from this company. They are not transparent enough and appear to be looking to mislead customers! Also they are rude and unfriendly.

“RecordGo car hire Alicante ”

We have used RecordGo on quite a few occasions over the last five years but at Xmas we were well and truly taken in by them, we took the car back on Jan 7th after a two week stay with no damage other than the damage that was already on it at pick up, four days later when I checked to see if the fuel refund had been refunded I was amazed to see that £276 had been taken from my account, when I queried it through DoYou Spain who I had booked thru I was told it was for damage so I requested the pictures, when they arrived I could hardly believe my eyes and so I posted it openly on Facebook for all to see, It is quite obvious that the pictures are from two completely different cars, one being our's with no damage and the close up of the scratched bumper being from another car, our car was clean and had lights in the rear bumper the picture they sent of the scratch was from a car with no lights in the bumper and it was dirty with lots of scuffs( take a look for yourself on Facebook) it beggars belief, I am currently waiting for a reply after raising the differences in the pictures with them. They must have thought that with the busy Christmas period they could make a substantial amount of extra money from ripping off their loyal customers, well it's time these practices were brought to an end by bringing in strict regulation of the hire industry I wish I could post the pictures on here but it won't let me so take a look on my Facebook post, TUT, TUT, shame on you RecordGo car hire Alicante Airport!!!!!!

“Avoid like the plague - DON'T USE”

Hired a vehicle from Record Go rent a car at Alicante airport from 27th December 2017 through to 2nd January 2018 using their premium service which supposedly give a 3 litre leeway on the fuel. The pick up at the desk was OK apart from them trying to insist that I take out the additional insurance. I already have car hire excess insurance cover (insurance4carhire) so I was not interested and had to tell them several times - they were definitely unhappy about this. The car itself was OK but I made absolutely certain that I checked it thoroughly before driving away and was unsure about a couple of scratches/marks so insisted that someone from Record come to the car with me and see the marks to confirm that they were there when I picked the car up - I would recommend this to anyone picking up a hire car no matter which company they are using. We had no issues with the car during our hire and filled it up with diesel (to the point where the pump cut off because the tank was full) at the last petrol station before exiting the motorway at the Alicante airport turn. When dropping the car off I insisted that someone from Record check the car over in my presence and he confirmed that everything was OK. I then find that they have only returned 7/8ths of my fuel deposit because they claim that the fuel tank was only 7/8ths full! I subsequently sent an email to their customer service on the 4th January 2018 explaining that the tank had been completely filled and requested and explanation of how the tank could only be 7/8ths full. As of Sunday 14th I have received no response - not exactly what one could call decent customer service. Record Go at Alicante airport: I will never use them again. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

“DISGUSTING SERVICE”

Damaged car slightly and have been trying to resolve it for nearly 3 months. They will not respond to any emails. Rentalcar.com (used their website to book the car)and Rentalcover.com (paid for extra insurance) have also been unable to resolve with this company. They have provided documents but have not reimbursed the balance of my excess hence the insurance company cannot refund my excess to me. Record still has my EURO1500. Disgusting - NEVER USE THIS COMPANY

“Avoid renting”

AVOID AVOID AVOID When collecting vehicle notice it had damage, which was so bad it was dented in every panel. Advised lady at desk who advised this was fine as I had paid for extra insurance and was aware of previous damage. Retuned vehicle three weeks later and was advised all ok. Once being back from holiday realised £400.00 has been deducted from my account for damage not reported? Tried contacting company a number of times but completely denied any English. I rent a vehicle a least 5 times a year and have been advised by family and friend to avoid this company. Why didn't I ? I will never use again.

Record tried to charge me for existing damage. I showed photo evidence of vehicle on collection and return but was charged €350 Had to get my credit card company to charge this company back. Avoid at all cost. Cheap headline prices will result you will pay much more than booking with a proper company

Picked up our hire car from Record Go at Palma Airport and we were given a damage report showing existing damage to the rear bumper. After our holiday we returned the car and were instructed to leave the car in a returns bay and drop of the keys. We returned to the UK where we received a email saying we were being deducted €310.55 for damage to the rear bumper. We had no accidents or incidents with the car so we were obviously being charged for the pre-existing damage we had been advised of at pick up. I wonder how many other people have been charged for the same damage. I sent an email to Record Go using the link on their notification asking for an explanation but I am not surprised that I have not had the courtesy of a reply. Also the staff on their rental desks are not very pleasant. Overall a worse than dreadful experience.

This is the worst car hire company that I have ever used. DO NOT USE THEM. They charge you for non existent damage. Avoid their seemingly cheap costs, they are rubbish and are a bunch of robbers

I used this company in july.It was the only car hire desk that had massive queues with about a 90 min wait. Eventualy pick the car up and it was in an unlit bay so i drove it round to where you pick the keys up as my wife was there with the cases and it was well lit. On looking round the car,the rear door had a plastic panel missing and a scratch and dent. I pointed this out to the rep but he said"how did you do that". I told him it was already like that and he put it on his paperwork.I also noticed a scratch on the bonnet and told him about that too. I was given paperwork and off we went on our holiday. On our last day i was checking paperwork and noticed they hadnt put the scratch on bonnet down. On returning i told them but they said i was lying and had to pay 432euros. Luckily i took out independent excess insurance that covered everything even though the hire company said it was useless. So money was paid back but 3 days after returning to uk the hire company took 372pounds from my card for no reason.Got my money back through my card provider but after various emails to the hire company i finally recieved an email from them yesterday,2 and a half months later only telling me that as i had disputed the original amount for the scratch on the bonnet i should contact my card provider for answers. Unbelievable. Sorry this was such along review but do not use them i beg you. Record go = rude un profesional

I agree “avoid like the plague”. I have just completed a three week hire. On picking up the car we noticed there was no rear parcel shelf, but we’ve had cars before without them so we weren’t concerned. When we got home I had an email from them to say they were charging me €246 for the loss of the parcel shelf, you can buy one from Ford for about €65. They pointed out there was a little paragraph on the hire sheet saying there was a parcel shelf, funny that because we never had that paragraph before with nearly 10 years hiring from them.
They would not believe me about there being no shelf even after several phone calls. So they have tricked me out of over £200 for a piece of cardboard.
Several years ago some Spanish hire companies had a terrible name for over charging their customers, it seems now they are finding new ways to get more money out of you.
So please if your hiring from Record check your car and paperwork very thoroughly so you do not get caught, or even better hire from somebody else.

“Awful experience after return”

After return, fuel refund was incorrect by €30.. then realised additional €95 had been charged to credit card after return. Have received no invoice or explanation of charge. Have called 4 times and I am still awaiting a callback or email from them. Do not rent from them!

Well, never trust any booking that you make online for this company. Ordered a medium class car over a booking site. On day of arrival at the airport we found the rental desk. Waited for 45 minutes to get to the desk only to hear that "we don't have any medium class cars available", and asks us to pay more if we don't want to drive a Nissan note. Absolute ripoff, if I was you and stubble upon this company I would stay clear, just get a cab in worst case scenario.

Picked our car up after the last flight into Malaga , the car literally didn't get out of the airport as the car was flashing emergency engines lights in the display! We had to wait about 2 hours for a breakdown company (now 3 am before we left the airport) to come and collect the key as the office in the airport was closed, needless to say the car was towed and we were left to get a taxi. We were promised another car first thing the next morning which arrived after lunch ... guess what ... tyre warning light was flashing ! We rang the office in Malaga Airport was informed it was nothing to worry about and that 99% of their customers are happy driving cars with danger warning lights in the display , the office staff were rude, unhelpful and showed a complete lack of interest ... it also took about an hour to actually get them to answer the phone. All complaints need to go the "customer service deptartment" however they would collect the second car but we would still have been charged ... PLEASE FOR YOUR OWN SAKE AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST!!!!!!!!!!

I recently hired a car in Florida from Avis via Holiday Autos. They asked for £7 per day to cover the excess for damage to glass, tyres, roof and undercarriage. That charge would have amounted to about an additional 40% of the rental cost over 16 days. Instead, I took out an ANNUAL, worldwide policy with Insurance4carhire for £46. I have used this company before and once had to make a claim - there was no argument or problem. I recommend them.

I booked a car with Record at Palma airport and was pleased to discover that I was being offered a new deal which meant I would be refunded any unused fuel minus an admin fee. I returned car with between half to three quarters of a tank so due for refund on half a tank - however three weeks later and 2 unanswered emails I am still waiting! Has anyone else had this problem?

I got a refund on the fuel 3 days after returning the car at Alicante airport. Record are quite efficient, I suggest you give them a call. Their contact centre agents speak good english and are very helpful

I was offered this deal in May, where they admit that the fee for their refuel service on a Fiesta is 39 Euros. A nice earner to refuel a car! This company used to be ok, but I believe it has been bought out but retains the name. I used them for years, but will find another from now on. They seem to offer a sophisticated online contact service, but it took more than 2 months before I got a reply ( just a standard response letter) that didn't answer my questions.
