The rentalcargroup do not state that there is a charge for using the site and yet I was charged €29.18 for using the site which was advised as a deposit and even in the document that they sent to me advising how much I should pay to the rental company, the deposit shown as being taken from the fee and yet that deposit was not passed on to the rental company. In subsequent eMails they advised to me that this is a fee and not a deposit. In addition the site does not state that the price is excluding VAT and they sold me a damage waiver insurance that in not accepted by the car rental company

We booked online but did not get confirmation email in time and could not find details easily. When we arrived we were given a different fee by the provider Smart Cars and an extra 'location fee' of 25 euros. Also we were not told when booking that the credit card had to be in the same name as the driver so they would only accept payment if we added the card holders name for an extra 70 euros.

The advertised prices include nothing. There is a premium for everything which in general is not that unfair if conveyed clearly. However the sneaky way it is communicated only in the fine print is disingenuous at best. In my case the hidden fees ended up far outweighing the actual rental cost itself. And the final bill was thus more than doubled from what I was expecting.

The worst! Dont rent from here. Every company has their own that they tell you when you arrive. I like to travel and rent a car always but because I have my license only 1 year it’s difficult to rent and I search a lot. I read the laws at this rentalcar and the only think that they were asking is to be 21. When i arrived they told that I had to have my license 3 years and they left at 1:30 at night waiting 2 ours to find a taxi. Plus they were going to give me an other car

You rent a car in certain price, then go to the local agency and they charge you twice with all kinds of things. And you cannot cancel because you agreed with the site. I rent small car for 130 euro and found myself paying 218 euro.

avod this company, many hidden costs which you do not see when booking, allegedly it is in terms and conditions which are not visible to anyone. It was stated that we should pay 150 EUR, but at the end we paid duble - 350. Rude staff, even physically attacked our friends that did not want to pay additional hidden costs. We even initiated a civil and criminal proceeding against this company.

Received a competitive price I booked the rental and paid a deposit I then received an Email confirmation which included obligatory extras of more than one hundred dollars US I have cancelled and await the return of my deposit.

Lot's of new extra taxes, the website and the email confirmation do not are at the same page or even shows the same information properly. The worst experience renting a car.

attention company with suspect contract, deposit of 2000€, the price of the insurance higher than 2 times the price of the hiring, a stain (damage) costs you 550€ with expenses of file 85 Euros, I do not recommend this company

Unfortunately, nothing happened as the online booking promised. When taking over the car, it turned out that we cannot get the reserved car (Fiat 500). Instead, they recommended a "cheaper" alternative. We did not read anywhere that we have to pay a significant deposit (400 EUR) when taking over the car on site. We paid this deposit, but we were informed that it is much more expensive to pay with a DEBIT card than with a CREDIT card. Unfortunately, I only have a DEBIT card. Thus, overall, the car rental advertised on the website became significantly more expensive. In addition, I had to get by with a cheaper car. Furthermore, the insurance was also given more expensively. Instead of the 54 EUR price ordered on the website and accepted by me, the cost of the car rental ended up being 160 EUR.

Station refused to credit deposit that was paid at advance booking. 15% VAT was added to agreed price. Cars breaks and lights did not Work well.

Their offer to Goldcar associate was a joke! At Goldcar they didnt accept any other payment than the credit card which I used during the reservation. Funny that at europcar they accepted all the possible payment methods. Now Rentalcargroup wont return the reservation fee cause they are claiming that they accept on their terms only the one and only credit card (physical, not electronic which I have on phone 2022). Well, how come europcar does which is also rentalcargroup associate?!?

I rented a car for 4 days and when I went to pick up the car, they just said they cancelled my booking with no reason given.

Reserved a car for my stay in Azores, the reservation process was easy and straight forward. Everything went as expected, the information was clear and the prices were very competitive. The day before, I received reminder and a copy of the needed documentation. When to pick up the car, the process was easy and fast. go to the desk, give de documentation, sign the contracts and leave the credit card insurance caution. The go to the park with the documents and keys where you and an agency employee review the car and point any issue encountered. The car was in perfect conditions, clean and sanitised. No problems and no hidden charges. Then the return of the car was also easy, park, review the car to check if everything was ok, and go to the desk to deliver the car check paper and to receive the canal of the credit card caution. Perfect experience.

This is the second time I rent a car with rentalcargroup and I had the same good experience. They are professional, transparent and much better in price than other competitors. I strongly recommend and will be renting with them in the future, for sure.

Good luck with that deposit return, you may find that this is a fee for using the site. I have reported them to the credit card dispute team.
