Despite completing the complaint form on their website, twice, and having emailed 4 times and telephoned 3 times I am yet to receive a reply. Goldcar Las Palmas, Gran Canaria (Goldcar LP) has charged us €200 for what we believe is pre-existing damage to a white Fiat 500 hire car, registration 3030KPW. My wife and i rented a car at Malaga Airport for four days. We used it to travel to our apartment and one day we drove to Torrox (+/- 50 km). I was very surprised that the transferd 180 euros from my creditcard. They claim that i drove 700 km with the car. I can prove that this isn't the case with our pin transaction history (all in Malaga and Torrox). But the refuse to give the money back. I'm surprised that they can do this for years and years!! Save yourself the hassle. The small saving on the car rental is not worth the weeks of hassle trying to chase a company that is entirely geared up to make you just give up. They keep fuel deposits despite sending confirmation that deposits will be refunded, probably in the hope that people don’t notice the €50 within a busy credit card statement. I booked Goldcar hire in November 2019, only to find they took the payment twice from my account, on the same day. Despite numerous attempts, they have point blank refused to refund my extra payment. I recommend you read all of this. I booked and paid for a hire car, excluding cover for the insurance excess, from GOLDCAR. I arrived to collect my car from Malaga Airport on 29th August and saw one of their desk agents. He took my Credit Card to make a charge for the insurance excess and said it had been authorised. As the company offered low prices for car rental, we booked a car online from France and paied online 150 Euro. When we arrived at the airport of Cagliari, at the office the employee refused to give us a car saying we didn't have a credit card. Gold car are allowing agents like Discover Cars and YOU Do Spain to make so called bookings on their car fleet. Customers complete and pay on these "agent" websites and get directed to collect the cars from Gold Car destinations at (eg) airports. However when customers turn up for their car they get asked to pay massive extra amounts in bogus insurance additions and airport or other surcharges. I will never, ever use this company again. I was charged an extra €30 ("for special cleaning)" because we left a Gold Car leaflet in the. We were almost abused picking it up also when they were trying to force us to take out extra insurance. This company will fold because its not ethical in its approach to customers.

Hired a car at Malaga airport. I have 3rd party insurance so didnt want Goldcar's insurance. I wasnt given an option, the woman behind the desk just charged my card. Only when I realised what she was doing did I ask for a refund. Which she did. She then didnt give me any paperwork, I thought I would get an email. Debiting your card for unwanted insurance is a favourite way that Goldcar take money from their customers.
Then they just refuse to acknowledge you or your complaint or engage with you in any way.

Usual story you will find repeated about this awful, immoral company. This was not the first time i rented a car with Goldcar in Lisbon. I had had a bad experience with them before and should not have used their services again. I rented a car with them again in February. They charged me 75 euros for the fuel on the policy of reimbursement when returning the car with full tank. My story is so similar to others on this forum that I now believe this routine is part of Goldcar/Europcar/Interrent's business model. This was in Gran Canaria. They are obliged to give you a consumer form to fill in for cases of malpractice, overcharging, rudeness or bad service. If they refuse to give you a 'Hoja de Reclamaciones' (pronounced Oka day reklamtheeones) call the local police, who will arrive and insist on pain of prosecution. Your 'Hoja' will be dealt with sympathetically and you will likely get an apology and refund.
I was treated very badly by them, laughed at, told that the faulty handbrake did not matter, would not sign to that effect until they realised that I was speaking Spanish and mentioned the 'Hojas' You may be able to do this from outside Spain and in English... not sure Nil Iligiti Carborundum . The Athens office staff was rejecting my insurance and insisted on buying theirs, for an additional fee. Had no option actually since If I had my credit card used for the guarantee, they could easily hold any amount they like for alleged damages. Rented a car through one of their agents, and bought insurance too. Athens airport staff on my arrival at their office rejected my insurance and threatened me with high damage cost if I did not buy their insurance. The company appears cheap, we hired a car through Ryan air for £90 for 8 days - which included full insurance. But when we got to the airport they charged us €230 euros extra, and when asked they directly said that that was a deposit charge which we would get back. I had a similar, almost photocopy, experience with Goldcar Rental in September, 2019. This Company should be delisted by Ryanair as a car rental service provider. I’ve written to the Tourism Regulatory in Malaga with my complaint without any response.
What a dreadful experience not a single redeeming feature of Goldcar Rentals, never, ever again wil I deal with them and I’d advise all fellow renters likewise!

Avoid this company at all costs- their level of customer service is a disgrace. Having hired a car in Spain during November, I was involved in an accident which was totally my fault and I notified Goldcar of the damage sustained upon return of the car at the end of the rental. That stage of the process was fine and the staff in the rental office were polite and helpful- but that is where it goes down hill. My experience on arrival at the Gran Canaria Airport Office was a bad start and it was no surprise that thing went from bad to worse. Miserable staff who couldn't look you in the eye. The car was parked 10 minutes walk away. The car had in excess 12 marked damage. There was nobody available to check the car out. In addition to two complaints to them via their website I have now emailed 4 times and phoned 3 times and have still not even received a response.
This is pre-planned theft followed by astonishingly arrogant behaviour.
I will not let them get away with this and thousands of other customers (Google 'Goldcar Complaints' or similar) and am trying to get the Local Police or Guardia Civil involved as well as Junta de Andalucia and maybe even a solicitor to pursue a class action.
Goldcar drag everything Spanish into disrepute.
