We rented a car thru Discover, to be picked up in Bari (Italy) - March 2023. We covered all risks - 100 % insurance - when booking the car. Two major concerns with the local hiring company (Rental Plus). 1 When we arrived to Bari the local company, RentalPlus, were VERY directive that we should pay for an additional (and much more expensive) cover, as "the one you have paid to Discover is not good". We did NOT pay any additional insurance. 2 When we came back to Rental Plus after the vacation, their inspection of the car found a small scratch on the hub cab of the right front wheel. I am a careful driver and I am 100 % sure I have not made the scratch. I had not seen the scratch when I inspected the car when I picked up the car, probably because the scratch was so small. Rental PLus forced us to pay 350€ for the scratch, promising we would get money back. Which we did thru a process where Discover cars asked for MUCH information and background. I am LUCKY I had all the papers asked for..... So my complaints in short: 1 It is not OK for the local company Rental Plus to ask us pay for a second and much more expensive insurance - claiming that the Discover insurance paid for, with full coverage, was not OK. 2 It is not OK for the local company to "find" a hardly visible scratch on the hub cab of front wheel, claiming I was responsible and claiming that the scratch was SEVERE and the repair cost should be 350€. Even a NEW hubcab would cost only a fraction of 350€ - in Sweden 20-40€.
