Hired the car from Alicante airport. £65 for a week. I returned the vehicle just over an hour late and was charged for a full day and fined. making 45 euros. For one hour this is ridiculous. When I collected the car was also covered in scratches. I had taken out my own excess cover insurance as they had wanted nearly 154 euros for the week but at the counter dropped that to 45 euros. You can take out annual excess insurance for £45 so don't bother with car hire insurance. On collection they asked if I wanted to hire a sat nav which I didn't need as I had my own and then when I went to the car it had one built in anyway.
I will be doing 3 more car hires in Alicante this year and the friend who was with me will be doing two, none will be with Record.
