Over Charged
They over charged us plus they start taking money out of the bank without permission. I had to get the bank to dispute plus block their payments to be taken out further more. I don’t advise to use firefly rental car.

Vehicle returned fully fuelled as requested within 10kl from airport, receipt provided, firefly advised no further charges yet they have charged 197 euro for fuel. You cannot contact them. They are bad, support to be part of Hertz if true Hertz needs to sort this out.

Alicante Airport
Hired a car from Alicante airport. I was not asked at any point if I would like to take out any insurance or any other extra's. I was asked to pay €480 on my credit card at which point I asked what it was for and was told the excess and a fuel deposit. I then asked if this would be refunded if the car was returned undamaged and with a full fuel tank and he said yes.
I have got back and I have now been charged €337 for what I can only assume is insurance. I already have my own excess insurance, so I do not need this anyway.
They are now saying I signed a document with the insurance on but that was only because I was told otherwise.
I would never use these again, feels like they are trying to trick you into taking insurance cover without even asking you.

I booked this car via Booking where I paid for the car and car insurance. Firefly made me sign a document that looks like a deposit and release of car form. It was for additional insurance. This form was not explained to me, nor did they ask me if I wanted addition insurance.
I cannot give a negative star rating, because I would.

Charged For Insurance That I Didnt Ask For, Need A
Charged for insurance that I didnt ask for, need as I had an excess insurance policy or indeed authorise. I was told I was signing only to pick up the car as everything had been paid and share with them my excess policy. This didnt stop them charging my credit card when I went home. I complained and the response was grossly inadequate so I have referred them to the regulatory.

Rented Car In Malaga Through Cartawler
We rented a car at Malaga airport and had paid for the car in advance. When we got to the counter they asked if we wanted extra insurance. We answer no, we don't need that. When we got to the next counter to pick up the car, they asked for a credit card where they stated that they were deducting a deposit which we will get back on delivery of the car. They deducted 444 euros. When we got home to Norway, we got 147 euros back. I wanted to hear the reason for this and spent a long time trying to find the right place to turn to in this matter. When I finally got an answer, they said it was because we had signed up for Supercover! Which we never did. I've emailed back and forth to explain that we didn't ask for this, but they won't budge and won't refund! I feel this is really deceiving customers. Steer clear of Firefly, Cartrawler and Hertz. A good piece of advice is to read EVERYTHING on the contract, even if there is a mile-long queue behind you! Tell all your friends about this so they are aware of this practice.

For A Booster Child Seat They Charge The Same As F
For a booster child seat they charge the same as for a car. In addition, they strongly urge you to take out insurance, even if you already have it. Be careful when signing the papers before getting the car. And take good photos of the car from all sides before you get in it. Better yet, avoid them.

I recently had the misfortune of renting a car from Firefly Car Rental at Murcia airport, and I must say that my experience was nothing short of appalling. From start to finish, the company's blatant attempts to squeeze extra money out of me left me feeling cheated and thoroughly disappointed.
First and foremost, I specifically rented a fully fueled car, ensuring that I wouldn't have to worry about refueling during my trip. However, upon returning the vehicle on May 12, 2023, I was shocked to discover that Firefly Car Rental had charged me for an unnecessary refueling fee. How could this be, when I had returned the car with the fuel tank completely full?
Upon querying this unexpected charge, the Firefly Car Rental staff displayed a complete lack of professionalism and integrity. They insisted that the fuel gauge was not at the maximum level, despite my repeated assurances that I had fueled up just before returning the vehicle. It became abundantly clear that they were resorting to deceitful tactics to siphon additional money from unsuspecting customers.
What made matters worse was their unapologetic attitude and refusal to rectify their mistake. It was evident that Firefly Car Rental had no intention of acknowledging their error or providing any sort of resolution. Their sole objective seemed to be tricking innocent customers like myself.
In addition to the deceptive fueling charge, I also found their overall customer service to be utterly abysmal. The staff members were rude, dismissive, and displayed a complete lack of empathy towards customers. It felt as though they viewed us as nothing more than cash cows, with no regard for our satisfaction or well-being.
I strongly advise anyone considering renting a car from Firefly Car Rental at Murcia airport to steer clear of this untrustworthy company. Their underhanded tactics and made-up fees will only leave you feeling cheated and frustrated. There are plenty of other reputable car rental companies available in the area that prioritize customer satisfaction and transparency.
Firefly Car Rental's practices are disgraceful, and they should be held accountable for their unscrupulous behavior. Save yourself the headache and choose a different car rental provider that values honesty and integrity.

These guys are the artful Mafia of Spain. My rentalcars cost was £72 for a week with their full insurance cover. However at the hire desk the laughing lady said I needed “super” insurance as I only had a debit card , and that I needed to cancel the rentalcars insurance. “Super”insurance was €150 for the week. Mafia sales tactics hopefully the firefly CEO reads this with embarrassment at the mafia sales tactics for obvious maximum commissions.

I have a car rental booked for May 7th at Firefly and our flight doesn't get in until 11:33pm. I am trying to get in touch with the agency to see if they will have someone there when we arrive which will be midnight or after.
I have got a phone number from the website and one from Carrentals have called over 50 times and can not get an answer or an answering machine.
We don't want to be stranded at that time of the night, cannot get a confirmation. What should I do?

How do I get a full refund as I did not get the car from Firefly as they would not accept my valid, in date MasterCard? The money 145.euros was taken out of my account when I booked and using the same card when I got to the airport.
Initially you might try your credit card company - they should refund you and take it up with firefly anyway.
If that fails contact customer services.
MAke sure you explain exactly what happened - I was refunded over half the additional charges.

I rented a car in Barcelona (airport) the 2.04-6.04.2014.
Booking nr. 372033585. After using car I paid and was waiting the reserved sum. The 2.05 this sum (97,63 EUR) was taken by Firefly too. Why not to refund me this sum?
If you booked indirectly through a broker then you need to go back to the broker for their customer service. If you booked direct with Firefly via their website, then you can contact Firefly Customer Service who will help you.
What I want to know is why they have taken £66 from my account for a hire car in march this year? Having been told that everything was ok by a member of staff. After many requests for a breakdown of the bill it still isn't forthcoming. I feel that this is just another rip off which they can fob onto us.
If you booked direct with Firefly via their website, then contact their customer services direct and they should be able to provide a breakdown of costs. If you booked indirect via a broker site then you need to chase them for an itemised billing.
Did anyone manage to get unauthorised charges back in anyway? As they don't respond to emails, calls. And our bank is not super helpful either. Is there some way to get that money back?
Yeah I finally managed to get the money back through my credit card company........I reported it as a disputed transaction and it's just taken from there. Good luck!
How long did it take for Firefly to charge your credit card? I just rented a car last week and they haven't charged me for it yet I call and emailed is this normal for there company or should I take my money and go on about my life?
For me the credit card charges appeared on my account within a few days. I have never used this company before so I can't answer for their efficiency in this regard. On saying that I wouldn't use them again if they were the last car hire company on earth. If I search for car rental as I have again recently, I exclude Firefly. I hope this helps.
