caution - double payment

I booked a rental car through DiscoverCars and paid the full amount in advance online. However, when I arrived at Munich Airport (MUC) to pick up the car, Budget required me to pay again for the same booking. From what I understand, this issue came from a communication gap between DiscoverCars and their supplier, but unfortunately I was the one affected. In the end, I had to make a double payment for a single rental. I take full responsibility for sharing this review so others are aware. While the booking process with DiscoverCars was easy, the lack of coordination with their supplier caused me unnecessary cost and stress. At the time of writing, DiscoverCars has not refunded me.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this rental company. We booked a large automatic van for 6 people well in advance, as such cars are rare in Sardinia in September. Just one day before our family’s arrival, the company informed us that the car had been ‘broken by the previous client’ and was unavailable. They did not provide any alternative vehicle. After contacting DiscoverCars, we were told that the only option was to pay almost €1000 more for another car, since the day before our trip the prices were extremely high. This company left us completely stranded and ruined our travel plans – absolutely unacceptable

Not helpful at all

Dont use this service, we showed up on time, but my wife forgot her drivers license and was the main driver(completely our fault there). Was expecting maybe a charge for changing the main driver, but nope, we got 0 help. They said because we had already passed the time for when our rental was, we could not do anything, and had to forfeit the entire payment. The reason it was too late for us to change, was because we had to wait over an hour at the ticket counter, only then realizing she did not have it. Could not change driver, get any credit/refund or anything, they nearly left me my wife and 18 month old stranded at the airport. Do not rent through this company, anything goes wrong and they dont care and are very unhelpful even though we actually showed up on time

Refund Promised but Never Received

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience with Discover Cars. I had to cancel my booking (D011377309) on the morning of the rental due to a serious medical emergency, and I provided medical documentation. On September 2, they confirmed in writing that I would receive a full refund of €77.16 within 10 days. Today is September 17, and no refund has been credited, my bank (Yapı Kredi, Turkey) confirms there is no pending transaction, and Discover Cars has not provided the refund transaction reference number (ARN) despite repeated requests. Because of this, I’ve had to open a chargeback with my bank (ref. #1814684963). I trusted their written promise, but it has yet to be fulfilled. Until they resolve this, I cannot recommend Discover Cars.

The main issue was that the booking was canceled after the standard free cancellation period. We were waiting for confirmation from the car rental supplier to waive the applicable fees so that we could proceed with the refund as a commercial gesture.

According to our records, the full refund has been successfully applied to your account. The exact time it takes for the amount to appear in your account will depend on your bank and country of residence.

You book a car with unlimited mileage, and then you cancel, and you get about 10% back. It's the same as buying A and getting B. Then they say, because I canceled within 48 hours, I can't get a full refund. I booked within 48 hours. How can I be any earlier? Think logically. Why do I have to cancel? Because you're providing false information. Then I cancel and only get a small refund. So I really want you to refund the rest of my money as well.

Has anyone found someone in customer support that is able to assist with an existing case? I am having an issue filing a claim and it appears no one at Discover cars is available to engage or escalate at this point. We had a not so great experience with the rental car vendor (America Cars in Mexico) and they will not release the final invoice for the damage of a popped tire. They do not deny that the damage occurred, or that we were covered by Discover Cars, and I do have the receipt and bank account statement. They just are not providing the final invoice. They are claiming that this is our own fault for booking with Discover Cars as opposed to purchasing insurance directly from them. Discover Cars will not refund without the final invoice. Has anyone encountered this before? Any tips to resolve? Seems odd that Discover Cars would partner with a vendor that will not cooperate in getting them what they need to provide a customer what they paid for (insurance that covers a flat).

I have never heard of this company. The prices seem to good. Has anyone used them in Orlando? How did you get to the their offices? They are around 6 miles from the airport. Any feed back will be appreciated.
