Hidden costs for insurance

Car rental was low cost but mandatory insurance was triple the cost of the car rental and we didn’t find out about it until we came to pick up the car.

There's always a good reason to increase the rate offered by the Discover cars.com platform. When you refuse to rent the car under the new terms, the platform keeps the deposit made at the time of booking... Tip: opt for larger agencies, which may seem more expensive at first, but when all is said and done, they save you time and hassle that you would have preferred to avoid on vacation.

Wrong type of fuel in car rental

I recently rented a car at Faro Airport and unfortunately made the mistake of putting the wrong type of fuel in the tank. As a result, the car stalled and had to be towed back to the rental company. To my surprise, they charged me the full €2000 deposit to replace the vehicle. Thankfully, I had booked the rental through DiscoverCars.com. I submitted a claim to them, and I was incredibly impressed with how they handled the entire process. They kept me informed at every step of their investigation and, in the end, reimbursed me the full €2000. I want to express my complete gratitude and appreciation to the DiscoverCars.com team. Their professionalism, transparency, and efficiency turned a stressful experience into a positive one. Good services

All the information we received from Discovery Cars was correct and it worked all well. Because of this the picking up of the car was easy and the rental company - WayGo in Lissabon - was very friendly and accurate. Also when we returned the car, it all went very quick. We had a little damage which we paid in advance, but once back home we filled in the forms and within a day we got the message that our claim was honored and that we will get back the money. Therefor, we are a happy client.

Security Deposit never returned

I have rented a car from agency called NOKTA using DiscoverCars in Istanbul, I have returned the car in 9th Mar and till now they have not returned my security deposit. I have paid 800 Euros and they did not retuned it! I kept sending emails to DiscoverCars but did not get enough support

I've used discovery 3 times now due to a smooth and positive customer journey. Clear rental terms of booking and good details for pick up. And when I've had to make a claim it's been an Easy full coverage claims process (though max upload file size is 1MB not the 8MB listen, - for me at least) Thanks team.

My Road Trip in Italy

Transparent pricing and various options for your ride. CS would answer some of my questions prior to my trip to Italy, especially about the insurance coverage. When I arrived the reception at Rome Airport and checking in to pick up my car, the agent didn't tell me about how to return the car and where to return the car in Florence. I sent an email asking about it and I didn't get any reply. Fortunately, I found the place when returning the car but no one was there. It took me unexpected extra time to dealing with it. All the places we went to are amazing, and purely Italian. The hot spots and historical sites I have heard since I was a kid, finally I got the chance to be there. Road trip is fun and Italian driving style is so similar to Hong Kong people, fast and furious. Vatican City is the most iconic place we have visited. Going to the top of St. Peter's church is definitely gorgeous.

There were no issues with the car. Someone damaged the wiper while the car was parked, and the insurance paid for it without any problems.

I sent an email requesting a refund

I sent an email requesting a refund due to a mistake on their part, but never received a reply. When I arrived at the desk, only one of the two cars I had booked and paid for was available—the other didn’t exist in their system. I even showed the charged amount to the desk agent, who also tricked me into adding an insurance I didn’t ask for, taking advantage of the situation. I couldn’t rent another car from them because it would have cost me over three times the original booking. Their call center is unreachable.

Excellent service, simple and reliable claims

Amongst the other car rental companies I’ve tried, DiscoverCars ranks amongst the best. Being an independent company, they offer prices far lower than most other websites (and in my experience even lower than if you rent from the provider directly). The numerous reviews on their website helps you find a reliable rental company and avoid dubious/unscrupulous ones. In terms of their full coverage insurance - it took DiscoverCars a mere THREE hours to approve my claim of 296 AUD we spent to replace punctured tires. Their coverage includes things excluded by most other insurance plans sold by the rental companies- most crucially the underbody and tires. The only caveat is that their full coverage limit is 4500 dollars. Be aware that your rental excess may exceed this (and you may hence need to pay out of pocket if the rental vehicle is seriously damaged). Overall an excellent and reliable provider whom I trust, and will continue to use in my future car rentals!

Has anyone found someone in customer support that is able to assist with an existing case? I am having an issue filing a claim and it appears no one at Discover cars is available to engage or escalate at this point. We had a not so great experience with the rental car vendor (America Cars in Mexico) and they will not release the final invoice for the damage of a popped tire. They do not deny that the damage occurred, or that we were covered by Discover Cars, and I do have the receipt and bank account statement. They just are not providing the final invoice. They are claiming that this is our own fault for booking with Discover Cars as opposed to purchasing insurance directly from them. Discover Cars will not refund without the final invoice. Has anyone encountered this before? Any tips to resolve? Seems odd that Discover Cars would partner with a vendor that will not cooperate in getting them what they need to provide a customer what they paid for (insurance that covers a flat).

Hi! I have not credit card, only debit card! If they do not accept it, I cancel the reservation. I read they don't give money back but give credit points. This is true? What can I do?

You may have to accept credit points for another journey if you cancel. You always have to use a credit card when it comes to rental

Sometimes the price differential relates to whether the car can be picked up and dropped off rom the airport or not. Discovery do provide this from one of the car parks at Faro which to me is worth paying a bit extra over those that drive you off to some pick up point in Faro.

I have never heard of this company. The prices seem to good. Has anyone used them in Orlando? How did you get to the their offices? They are around 6 miles from the airport. Any feed back will be appreciated.
