The company is OK

The Discover Cars is an efficient and reasonably priced company with good customer service. The problem is in their partners. I have rented a car from throu Discover Cars with Car Rentals in Larnaka Airport. The car was old 144,000 km and very noisy. Since it was late in the evening I didn't return to replace the car.

These Guys are Honest and Legit!

So, I don't normally write reviews, but I'm proud to write this one for Discover Cars. Like most people, while planning a two-week Italian vacation for my family, I searched online for the best prices. There are so many choices and you never know what to expect when you're traveling. You're always afraid that you'll be fleeced by these vendors since they know you're most likely not a repeat customer. I'm very happy to say that Discover Cars is legit and everything proceeded exactly as outlined on their website! They are a broker and they used Target Rent in Italy as the car rental agency. Everything went very smoothly. So here's the best part, I purchased the full-coverage insurance after I found out that my credit card company did not cover international car rentals. It was 88 USD for the two-week rental. When I picked up the car at Target Rent in Milan, the Target Rent representive informed me that this insurance was with Discover Cars and not Target Rent. Therefore, if there was any damage, I would have to pay Target Rent and then file a claim with Discover Cars to get reimbursed. I did not know this nor like it but, since I had already paid for the full-coverage, I declined the additional insurance from Target Rent. Plus, I hoped I wouldn't need either insurance since I'm a good driver. Well, turns out I did indeed need it. Long story short, I had 753 Euros of damage to the car. I worried for days after the accident that I would be fleeced by both Target Rent and Discover Cars. I even tried to read the fine print on the Discover Cars insurance policy, but gave up as it was nearly 30 pages! I figured that they would make it as difficult and time-consuming as possible to get my money back. Turns out all my worries were for naught! Target Rent was very honest and only charged me a fair price for the damages. Plus, they sent me all the documents and photos that I needed to file a claim with Discover Cars. I filed the claim the day after I returned home. It took less than 15 minutes to file the claim. As soon as I submitted the claim, I got an email from DC that acknowledged the claim and said it might take 5 business days to process. This was Friday morning in the U.S. Monday, at 3AM PST, I received an email from DC stating that my claim for 753 Euros had been approved and that I would receive the funds in my PayPal account within 5 business days! Woo hoo! I was beside myself! But, I still had not received the funds, so I did not write this review just yet. Well, since you're seeing this review, you can guess that I did indeed receive the full 753 Euros in my PayPal account today! It was unbelievably easy. I have renewed faith in companies after this pleasant experience. I will use DC for all future international car rentals and, if possible Target Rent in Italy. This was the icing on a great two-week Italian vacation! Thanks DC!

Failed a fully prepaid car rental

booked a fully prepaid, insured one-way car rental through DiscoverCars.com with AutoUnion as the supplier. The car was supposed to be delivered to my hotel in Gdansk PL, but no one showed up. When I contacted AutoUnion, they claimed they had no record of my reservation—even after I forwarded them my confirmed voucher. They then told me they have no records for my booking and no cars were available for a walk-in rentals. I tried to reach DiscoverCars Customer service but only bot chat was available. So I had to scramble to find a replacement by myself, taking a taxi to the airport and renting a much smaller car from another company at double the cost. This ordeal cost me around $500 and made me three hours late for a scheduled tour. I’ve reached out DiscoverCars, but so far, no resolution. This experience was incredibly stressful, especially being in a foreign country where I didn’t speak the language. I hope this review helps others avoid a similar situation.

Car rental claims Delaying

Terrible experience with DiscoverCars.com. My flight was slightly delayed, and their partner — Premium Car Rental , info - www-rentalpremium — immediately tried to take advantage of the situation by: Charging bogus late hour fees: Forcing me to purchase extra insurance, claiming that if anything happened, they could deduct money from the deposit. unfortunately , I was robbed in the city while the car was parked in a designated parking area. Thieves smashed the front left-side window. I reported the incident to the police and provided all documentation. The car Rental company - Instead of offering any support during this difficult time, the rental company overcharged me and demanded to return the car immediately, asking for €1,050 — which I refused to pay because I already had full insurance coverage through DiscoverCars.com, however they have deducted - 1084 Euro way above the deposit from my credit card total. When I explained the situation, Premium Car Rental just told me to contact DiscoverCars.com — and DiscoverCars.com also failed to provide any help or assistance when I needed it most. This experience was frustrating, unprofessional, and felt completely exploitative. I strongly advice others to avoid DiscoverCars.com. It's a waste of money . they don't support.

Please allow us to clarify our role. DiscoverCars.com is a car rental comparison platform that works with numerous rental providers to offer the best deals to our customers. However, we do not directly manage the rental process or the terms imposed by rental providers.

That said, we take customer satisfaction very seriously and are here to assist in any way we can.

According to our records, the vehicle was collected after the grace period stipulated by the car rental supplier. Your original booking was scheduled for 14:00 hrs, but the car was not collected until 20:00 hrs. Despite the delay, the supplier provided an alternative available vehicle, which you accepted.

Please note that car rental suppliers set their own grace period policies. If a vehicle is not collected within that timeframe, the booking may be canceled and marked as a "no-show."

Regarding the damages, we regret to inform you that your booking included only the basic waiver coverage. Unfortunately, this means you are liable for any damages incurred, as the waiver does not cover repair costs.

We sincerely apologize that your experience did not meet expectations. We appreciate your understanding and are here to assist you further if needed.

Very bad customer service, i rented a car through them from Baku airport for 9 days, under Booking no. D010787833 and paid the deposit, then upon arrival i contacted the representative to receive my car, nobody answered me for almost 2 hrs. , i contacted customer service they told me that they will make refund for the deposit within 5-10 days , the case was from 8 June , till now i didn't receive any refund yet.

Impossible peocess adding full insurance

It took me over an hour to add full insurance coverage to my booking. The help center directs you to add Full Coverage through "My Booking - Full insurance" but there is no such path. The only way is to chat with the bot. Finaly I got a payment request with no explanation. I could not tell if this was an additional fee or Full Coverage fee. In the passt Discover Cars ofered Full Coverage before payment for the rental car so you culd know what the total cost will be. The changed the system and the customer got in trouble

I encountered a problem with the return of the deposit for the car. 50+ days have passed since the car was returned without any comments from the partner, and I am still waiting for my money. The support service promised breakfast, and as of now they have stopped communicating with me via e-mail. And the partner himself completely ignores calls. I do not recommend, I am very upset. Competitors provide service faster and better.

I tried to change the name for one of my bookings (before the time limit), but the app just told me that the car is no longer available.. so i tried calling u guys, but I was told that since its the weekend, the rental Company couldnt help me… i had to book a new car and pay the difference just to change a name… horrible. Will never use you guys again

Has anyone found someone in customer support that is able to assist with an existing case? I am having an issue filing a claim and it appears no one at Discover cars is available to engage or escalate at this point. We had a not so great experience with the rental car vendor (America Cars in Mexico) and they will not release the final invoice for the damage of a popped tire. They do not deny that the damage occurred, or that we were covered by Discover Cars, and I do have the receipt and bank account statement. They just are not providing the final invoice. They are claiming that this is our own fault for booking with Discover Cars as opposed to purchasing insurance directly from them. Discover Cars will not refund without the final invoice. Has anyone encountered this before? Any tips to resolve? Seems odd that Discover Cars would partner with a vendor that will not cooperate in getting them what they need to provide a customer what they paid for (insurance that covers a flat).

You may have to accept credit points for another journey if you cancel. You always have to use a credit card when it comes to rental

Sometimes the price differential relates to whether the car can be picked up and dropped off rom the airport or not. Discovery do provide this from one of the car parks at Faro which to me is worth paying a bit extra over those that drive you off to some pick up point in Faro.
