“Poor customer service”

We had a VW Up for a week in June this year and although it was new with only 12k on the clock - on the way back to the airport to catch our flight home the clutch went on it. As we only have one flight a week back to our city we were worried. When we rang Anna Cars - they said they were surprised it had broken down and interrogated my husband regarding any warning lights on the dash and implied it was his fault. They then said they could not get to us in time and that we would need to organise a taxi ourselves to get us back to the airport. Luckily there was a taxi company very close by - but as they had to rearrange other customers, it was a tense ride back to the airport at a cost of 80 euros - Anna Cars refunded us 40 euros saying that we had the car for a week. However we hired a car to give us the freedom to not rely on taxis, in addition although we do not think it is Anna Cars fault that the car broke down they should consider whether a car designed for city driving is suitable for the terrain in Crete! We certainly did not expect to have to organise our own transport to get us to the airport and to pick up the cost ourselves. Be warned they are not the best car hire company to use. My son used Best Cars who are much better.
