“Poor treatment”

I am (was) a regular user of Rental Cars. I had a car booked for December. I simply wanted to pick the car up 4 hours later than scheduled as I couldn't get the flight I wanted. Rental Cars wanted to charge me double the cost of the original booking for this small amendment. I spoke to their team, but to no avail.
From what I can gather, an amendment simply means, cancel and rebook at the new market price.
Shame, I used to like booking though this company.
