“Not What Was Ordered!”

Having been delayed for three and a half hours we arrived in Larnaca in the early hours and just wanted to get the car and get to our destination! Took a good 45 minutes to get through the paperwork which included the lady on the desk trying to 'find' the booking despite my having a printout of said booking with me (to be fair she was a trainee and we all have to learn but she didn't have any assistance/trainer to help her). Having eventually found the booking we were told that instead of the Ford Focus ordered we were 'lucky' to have been given an upgrade to a Kia Sportage 4WD. How 'lucky' is that when it costs probably double to fill the tank of a big 4WD compared to a compact family saloon! We were then dispatched into the night to find the car in their parking lot with only the assistance of another disgruntled customer! Being that it was pitch black we weren't able to check the condition of the vehicle at that time so were told if we had any concerns to call the local office the next day to report any defects not mentioned on the paperwork along with photographs to be on the safe side so we wouldn't lose the deposit. On inspection in daylight there were a few 'dings' to add but more to the point the car was absolutely filthy, the windscreen was so bad you could hardly see out of it (thought it was just because it was dark couldn't see much night before!), the steering wheel was so disgusting hands stuck to it and coffee/coke hand been spilt/sprayed over inside doorframe and roof lining.
Only used Auto Europe instead of usual Company used because it came up on a pop up and seemed like a good deal so full marks to their advertising department, but having used them once wouldn't repeat the experience.
