“Do not use Gold Car Hire ”

Would use Argus Car Hire again but definately not Gold Car Hire, we were left waiting in a queue for 40 mins at their desk and this was after having to catch a cramped bus from the airport, we were then asked to pay for a full tank of petrol which on a small Island like Fuerteventura and only a weeks holiday was going to be a near impossible to use in a week, we were also told that we must take out insurance which I should have been already covered. The car we thought we were going to get should have been a Berlingo or similar, we were given the keys to a smaller, battered dirty type vehicle which we couldn't fit our luggage into. We complained about the state of the car and the damage to it to be told by the surly woman in charge that's the car for us and the damage didn't matter, we then pointed out it was alot smaller than we had ordered and could not fit our luggage into it, we went back to the office walked straight past the queue and complained, only then where we offered the vehicle we had paid for.

In all beware the hidden charges regarding fuel and insurance, I have since learnt Gold Car have a reputation for this type of thing, we will never use them again.
