Voucher Shakedown - The Word I Want To Use Is Banned Here

I was bought some vouchers for west end shows as a present.

When I booked you can only book tickets through their website. The only tickets available were a few at the back in the stalls at £51.00 each or some really expensive one at the front/ All in all about 20 seats were available.

Soon after I had a look at getting more seats for my brother, I didn't look through the theater people and went through a ticket office. There were many more seats available and better seats than we had at a much lower price. The seats next to the ones that I had booked were £26.00. Much better seats were available for £48.00 right near the front of the stalls.

I guess this is how it works, you buy vouchers then your a hostage to what they sell you. They get to keep your capital until you use them then when you do use them they charge you a massive premium on your seats.

If you are thinking of buying vouchers as a present, Don't. give them the money or put it in a safe place till they are ready to go then buy the tickets direct as it is a shakedown -

Extortionate Booking Fee! £11.50 Per Tickect

Booked Disney on ice for my family and grand children total of 15 so just realised I was charged £172, this wasn't said at the time of booking! Avoid this company and book direct.

Very Poor Prices And Customer Service

I bought tickets from them this morning and they are charging 25% more than the cheapest price on the market and face value, which was my fault not to check first, but I trusted they would be a fair price and so bought. Then once I realised within a few minutes that there were cheaper tickets I called to cancel and they would not do it without another charge! given how many good theatre ticket companies are out there with much better prices, this one should be avoided!

Got tickets for funny girl great show. The website for booking was user friendly we have used theatre people many times and have always been delighted with the service.thanks for making an unforgettable night.

Total Rip Off - Avoid

4 tickets were booked for Beautiful charged at top price £93 per ticket

The seats were 3 rows from the back with a restricted view

On investigation with theatre staff I was informed that the seats should have been £72 and we were charged a whopping £20 on top of each ticket

Fantastic Service

I initially bought tickets over a year ago using flexi ticket service. When we were unable to attend we were provided with a 'credit note' valid for a further year without any difficulties. I've since booked tickets and as these were cheaper we've been provided with a further credit note for the remaining sum again valid for another year. Everyone that I've had any contact with from this agency have been courteous and efficient. I'm one very satisfied customer.

Double D The Dolly Parton Cabaret Featuring Eloise Cassidy

a well worth seeing cabaret show featurinf Eloise Cassidy a recent graduate frm WAPPA. How talented is this young lady? Fantastic show I came away feeling really good & happy that musical theatre is alive & well in this country. I only hope she gets the opportunity to display her numerous talents on the big stage. In my opinion " A star is born". Her sidekick Diablo was equally impressive. Good luck to them both

Great Service!

I bought tickets for Billy Elliot, which were 50% less than the seats I saw on the theatre's own site. I added the 'Flexi' option as I was going with mates and we have had our plans change at the last minute in the past. Lo and behold this happened, so I called up and spoke to one of the operators on the telephone line. They changed my booking without quibble and even offered me a meal upgrade which I took... the lady I spoke to was lovely and so I would definitely book with them again. Great service, thank you.

Compassion - Not

I brought 2 tickets for The Commitments for my husbands birthday (applying the flexi-ticket payment, just incase!) We were due to go to London last Friday 30th Jan 2015 to attend the matinee on Saturday 31st "however" my father suddenly passed away on Tuesday 27th, obviously my first thoughts were not "check the tickets" ..... I found 5 minutes on Thursday 29th to email Theatrepeople to ask what the procedure was to rearrange my tickets due to unforeseen personal circumstances. I received a reply today Monday 2nd February telling me that the performance had come and gone and there was nothing they could do, they did not mention my circumstances - I phoned them direct and said that I contacted them 2 days before the performance and was told that was not enough time! I would apologise for not knowing in advance that my father would unexpectedly pass away and they would be the first thing I thought of - What ever happened to compassion!!!! I also booked a 2 night stay in The Kingsway Hall Hotel, this was an advance purchase booking with no exchange/refund/cancellation policy "HOWEVER" they could not have been more understanding and have credited our booking for another time

Don't Even Bother

I tried to book tickets online but it kept coming up with an error message saying my payment couldn't be processed. I tried with 2 different cards and it kept saying the same thing. Next to this message was a box saying 'call this number if you prefer to complete your booking over the phone'. Great, I thought, I'll try that. After waiting on hold for 10 minutes the girl said she didn't have time to help me and to check with my bank. I told her I tried with 2 different cards from 2 different banks and there was nothing wrong with either of them. She wasn't interested and totally unhelpful. In the end I gave up and booked direct with the theatre. Saved myself £15 for exactly the same seats as well!
