Nice idea. Unfortunately are so difficult to redeem they are a pointless gift. Cannot be used for online bookings. So you have to call up a phone number which is separate to that for "normal" customers and are left hanging on a premium number for ages. Would not recommend at all.

OK, you have theatre tokens, but are almost impossible to use. Can only phone or book at box office. Can't be used online, so good deal online tickets cost loads extra and the value of the tokens is wasted.

Avoid

Having received £50 worth of Theatre Tokens I proceeded to exchange them for Tickets. You can only exchange by using nominated agents or the participating theatres. However the prices charged by these outlets are vastly higher than what you can pay on sites like lastminutetheatre.com. For Example I wanted to book 2 seats, in the stalls, at the Ambassador Theatre to see Stomp on Monday 21st November at 20.00hrs . To exchange my tokens at any of the nominated outlets I was quoted between £53.50 to £64.00p per ticket. I could book similar seats with non participating outlets for the same show at £28.00p per ticket. So if I bought two tickets @ £28 it would cost me £56 but if I exchanged the theatre tokens I would have to pay out between £57 to £78. I have applied to www.theatretokens.com for a refund but have been unsuccessful. I am planning on sending all the correspondence between us to Watchdog . I would advise anyone considering buying Theatre Tokens as a gift to think again as you would be better off sending the money.
