Horrendous

We moved our global corporate network into a private cloud at Redstation 10 months ago. After 4 outages (Power, Redstation LAN (no backup switches to the racks from their router) and Temperature (twice in two weeks) we have suffered more downtime in 10 months then we did selfhosting for 15 years!

Their security is a joke (the front revolving door hasn't worked in over a year) and they do not monitor the CCTV (proven by them not knowing they had external engineers working on their aircon).

No backup aircon, no backup on single points of failure on their lan. They are a Tier 1 DC not Tier 4

Terrible Spam Filters

I have been with Redstation for year but they have just installed Plesk Email which is awful, you cannot stop the huge amount of spam arriving, the old system allowed you to specify keywords which would have reduced it by 80% but no you have to set a spam filter level which does nothing.

When my hosting expires next year I will take my business elsewhere.

Very Helpful Support Desk

I moved to Redstation a few months ago after being with Fasthosts for several years. I've been very pleased with the support I've had from Redstation and they provide a freephone number which is unusual. So far I've only had to call during the day but they provide 24 hour telephone support. The server has been the best part - amazing spec for the price and their network speed is the best I've ever seen. Overall very pleased and would definitely recommend.

Just Left Redstation

Have just been transferred to Plesk servers, without being told anything about it. Spent a day sorting out FTP access and emails. My shop won't work on the new servers so business has dropped off. Last week my site went off line, that was sorted but now FTP access no longer works. So I have two sites that I can no longer use. So I decided to up sticks and go somewhere else. As the parting shot, that cost me a £20 (+VAT) per domain charge (one for .co.uk other for .com) to transfer to a different registrar. No mention of the charge anywhere I can see on the Redstation site, so just confirms that going is the right thing to do.

Redstation used to be good, now I wouldn't touch them.

Worst Hosting. Better Save Your Money For Coffee

They will never answer your email. I have added a tracking with the email I sent. They have opened then email but never response back.

They Do Not Care About You

I would never recommend Redstation ever again, over the last few years I have spent Thousands with them in domain names and dedicated hosting, after 5 years I moved my dedicated hosting to another provider, they just treated my business as if it was no good for them.

Now after 6/7 years of paying £7.90+VAT to renew domain names for 2 years, Redstation have suddenly just without any notice doubled their price so that it is £7.90+VAT for 1 year and you have to pay for 2 years.

If that is not poor business practices then I do not know, no notice, no warning.

I just do not trust Redstation any more, they used to be a friendly helpful company, now i am afraid that they are on their way to be exactly like most large firms, lose touch with their customer base.

Sadly I will now start to move all my domain names away, I had in the region of 300 or so, could have been close to 400 now since i moved my server services away from Redstation to FastHosts.

Oh well I am just disappointed, sadly most big businesses become like this..

Very Pleased With Redstation

I'm a fairly new customer with Redstation and I'm happy to say the process of moving to them has been a pleasure.

Their support staff have been very helpful and nothing has been too much trouble. The telephone support is all provided over a freephone number which is great as so many other hosting companies make you call expensive 0870 numbers.

Redstation is a breath of fresh air and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and helpful host.

Abominable Customer Help Service

I have been a customer of both RedStation and Streamline for almost 10 years now and had no complaints about either service.

That is, until something goes wrong with RedStation! They used to offer customer service over the phone, but now, without informing us, this is no longer an option, even for a long term customer.

One of my business websites went down after a migration that they had done, to which I promptly phoned them up. The result of this was that I had to communicate everything via e-mail - I am no web developer and them telling me to change certain settings etc was not helping the issue! (I tried what they said anyway to no avail)

The second time I called them up, the lady on the other end would not offer ANY assistance over the phone and told me if I created a support ticket someone would get back to me in a few hours! For a website that takes bookings and gets a good few hundred hits a day this is just not good enough.

This lady in question would not even give us her full name to refer to in later communications and refused to put me through to someone who could help (a customer of theirs for 10 years!).

When asked for management - she said they were unavailable and even when told that we would be reviewing them about this issue and their abominable customer service if they could not help, she still refused to ask management OR to put us through to technical support!

This is not the first issue I have had with RedStation but it certainly will be the last. Over the years I have gradually moved most of my domains and hosting to Streamline who respond fast and efficiently. The last of these will be moved today.

My advice is to stay well clear.

Incredible Servers For The Price

Recently signed up for one of their 'latest generation' dedicated servers (model D7-990) and so far my experience with redstation has been amazing. not just the high specs and low prices, but the network speed and bandwidth included is stunning. I've not had any issues yet but i did submit a ticket with a question and it was answered within 20 minutes at that was in the early hours of the morning so i'm very pleased. would highly recommend redstation.

Porr Customers Service And Support

I have used Redstation for several years. I have finally decided to move to a new supplier. They are fine when everything is working well, but as soon as there is a problem they are slow to reply and get the issue fixed. Really disappointed.
