Been with Lycos webhosting for a long time but now they are closing, I was forced to find another hoster that was able to supply me with a service that could match what I had with Lycos.

Luckly, Lycos recommended Strato, who I am with now. There service is 100% better and I could not complain....well to now. I had followed all the rules from Lycos about transfering my domain names from them to Strato and got informed that it would take several days to do.

It's now 2 months later and I am still waiting, I simply do not know what to do any more. When I contact Lycos, I get a message telling me that there busy and call back later.

Well I feel this is not good enough, I think they should have more people on their phone systems or even a call waiting option.

O'well out with the old and in the with the new!

Web pointing of all my sites went down when I canclled hosting of one of them. Their telephone goes dead when you select the help option. They take days to answer a help ticket, Emails go down time after time. changing the dns settings of a domain seems to be beyond them! I would only recommend Lycos to people that I do not like. Steer clear of these cowboys. It is correct that you have to send a letter to Germany to cancel hosting but I faxed mine and it worked but they telephoned me to try to make me change my mind. I told them that thier statistics have been down for ages and he told me that they were working on it and should be sorted soon! I told him that it was about time as they have not worked for four years!

1.Personally found them difficult to talk to if there's a problem.2.My Web Hosting package was renewed and as far as I am aware I didnt them to, who do I talk to when I need to complain? They used to allow you to choose not to renew the package but now you have to post a letter to Germany it seems.3. Too many hoops to jump through for me.

I gave them 1/10 because they were generally OK before I had to deal with them. If they provided a decent service, then I would be happier but I dont want to stay for another year. I would never recommend you use Lycos web Hosting.
