They used to be an excellent host, and I never noticed the degradation of quality until recently.

I began hosting my own site and email a fair while back and just re-pointed the domain at my DNS in their Control Panel.

However when I moved home and office I went back to hosting my site with a web host, and got a deal with QuickHostUK - Who are brilliant by the way. Being generally satisfied with Jab I just repointed the domain at QuickHostUK's NS and all was good.

Recently however my domain came up for renewal and I thought it made sense to transfer the domain to QuickHostUK, single source = less admin.

Jab's control panel used to have a check box for unlocking the domain (When I looked for this it had gone), the Get EPP code button issues the code to the Administrative contact for the domain, but I hadn't updated these details. Fine I thought, because you can update the Administrative, Technical and Enquiries contacts in their Control Panel. So I spend 5 mins filling in all the boxes, pressed submit and all the information was overlaid with that of KnightMasterEnt, thinking this was a glitch I tried again, but alas no.

So I raise a ticket for the unlock and EPP code, which Jab replied, unlocked and gave the EPP code.

Gave the EPP code to QuickHostUK, who said handshaking is on, you will have to accept the transfer using the link in the email which went to Jab because they are the Administative contact for the domain. On asking them to respond to this they had no idea what I was talking about, leaving me without any confidence in them. I then asked them to set me as the Administrative contact and had QuickHost re-Start the order so I could accept the transfer.

Previous to my recent experience I would have recommended Jab, but I am afraid I would no longer recommend Jab Web Solutions, Hostzone or Sincordia to anyone.

I signed up with these guys years ago and they were fantastic. Unfortunately they've now been taken over by HostZone, part of Sincordia. They've made changes without contacting customers, updated software that somehow takes up your resources, and only last night had 5 hours of down time due to a "power outage" (don't they have back-up power supplies for that??)

Their customer support is beyond useless now too, and they're sure to answer under half of your questions in comedic broken English.

As a customer of their reseller account, and with nearly 50 clients of my own, it's been an infuriating few months since the take-over, and I don't have the time or the money to deal with it anymore, so I'm not renewing and moving all my clients elsewhere. What a farce.

Way to ruin a fantastic company. RIP JAB.

I have been overwhelmed at the level of commitment which JAB Web Solutions give to their customers. I've not known a hosting company to work so hard in a very long time, and this level of effort and service is very commendable indeed. JAB are not the cheapest host on the market, but you do get what you pay for, and a few quid more on hosting yields an exceptional service worth paying the extra.

Jabwebsolutions web hosting is generally reliable, with good communication and quick setup. I have used these guys for the past two years, and very little has gone wrong. Small companies like Jab often make more effort in looking after their customers than larger, more expensive ones do.
