Zitku Is An Interesting Use Of Dmoz And Wikipedia

Zitku is an interesting use of DMOZ and Wikipedia data. It offers a common platform to search the best resources on a topic available on the internet. Although I feel that the results are not being merged perfectly, and probably the growth of Zitku is limited to the growth of DMOZ and Wikipedia.

The point of main concern is DMOZ where webmasters have waited for 3 - 4 years before their website was reviewed by an editor.

The analysis of website is yet again a very interesting feature. The feature is directly comparable to Yahoo site explorer and Google webmaster tools. The underlying difference is that both site explorer and webmaster tools limit the information about a website to their search engine, whereas Zitku's site analysis tools talk includes all data unbiased.

The Semantic Link Builder snippet is a small script that embeds semantically relevant links in a web page. This service can be compared to Link exchange scripts that have existed for several years. However, the difference is that the script selects the displayed website "automatically" based on semantic relevance, and not just any web page linking to another web page. The webmasters are allowed to "block" certain websites from being displayed on their website, such as direct competition.

Simply put, ASLB embeds, Search Engine Friendly Links within every participant web page, and keeps a track of the hits that a link receives. The links are not put randomly, but are "chosen" for a minimum period of 1 month. Another several 100 in-built logic are beyond the scope of this review, but they do take into account a lot before selecting the semantic links.
