Hi Have just taken an account with PBPs and so far I am very pleased. I had opened a basic account with 123-Reg but it was soooooooooooo sloooooooooooooow. Simple site taking 15+ seconds to load!!! I found PBP here after looking at reviews for 123 and thought they sounded good. I contacted them and explained about my current situation and could they send me some links to example sites so I could see how fast they loaded. Lee got back very quickly and answered some other questions I had very quickly and now I have a site that loads very quickly! Perfect.

I have only been with PBP for a couple of days. What can I say, utterly fantastic. Help with setting up domains, subdomains, applications....anything you need, the service is there, first class every time The hosting is flawless, and extremely quick, which, at peak times (uk) surprised me, there is no slow down in front, or back end hosting. Haven't had any issues with their hosting and where I've needed assistance with understanding or help setting something up (I'm a beginner) they have been extremely quick to respond and sort out my issues, even on a Sunday morning! Highly recommended.

I’ve tried a few hosting services in the past and none matched up to what you receive from Powered by Penguins. Other services more or less leave you out in the cold when trying to set up your website, but not this service. I really appreciated the help I received setting up my website along with how easy it was to get my questions answered. They easily walked me through setting up my e-mail, and I was even able to set up my blog correctly. If I start up any future websites I will definitely be using their service, especially at their prices. They even give you a free domain name!

I switched to Powered by Penguins about a year ago, after problems with a low cost host provided left me dealing with poor customer service. What really shocked me was that I'm paying less here - only £25 for 1 year with free domain name and their customer service has been excellent. I wasn't expecting to find a place with that low of a price with stellar customer service, so the couple times I called when I was switching over to them, they were quick to respond to any issues I had and got the work done right and done right away. Cannot recommend them highly enough - very affordable and great response time to any queries I've had.

The best service I've ever had from a web hosting provider. I've called a few times over the past year with some minor issues and the guys here were able to get the problems fixed within minutes - always someone able to help or answer a question. I like that they always answer or return calls - and they don't wait til the next day, they responded to my queries within a hour or two at the most. Very good service, wouldn't go with anyone else.

We've been hosting our forum and web blog now with Powered By Penguins for almost 5 months. I contacted Web Host Powered by Penguins by e-mail very late last Friday night, after mignight, as I wanted to set up a shopping cart on my existing site (hosted then, by Talk Talk) buy an extra domain with a redirect to my existing site only and buy a new domain with hosting. As Talk Talk were charging me over £80 per year for just 50MB of webspace for one site with no PHP access or mySQL (which was only possible if I upgraded to 250MB at a cost of £250 + VAT per annum) I was looking around for a cheaper alternative. Having found Powered by Penguins on Review Centre and checking out their site following the good reviews there, they seemed to fit the bill - special offer of £12.50 for 50GB, unlimited bandwidth, one click install of selection of open source shopping carts and other usefull little add ons via their easy to use control panel,SQL databases, e-mail accounts (although there is a small additional charge for e-mail virus protection, but even with that it seems good value to mee) and pretty much everything else I wanted or didn't even now I wanted. Following my Friday e-mail I received a reply from Lee before 9am on Saturday and following a small exchange of e-mails my new domains were registered, redirect in place and new website up and running by lunchtime! Lee even copied all my files from Talk Talk for me and was ready to ready to transfer the site by early afternoon. Unfortunately as Talk Talk Business were, despite their high cost, uncontactable over the weekend to do their bit of the transfer first and I just got a rather unhelpful automated support ticket number return e-mail, Powered by Penguins had to hold fire. However, Lee still set me up with the site on their server somehow and installed the shopping cart software for me so I could make a start whilst we were waiting for Talk Talk to do their bit. As it happened Talk Talk did get around to doing this on Sunday night (thank you Kim) and Lee immediately did what he had to do to finalise the changeover. By Monday it had all happened and my new site and e-mail are now happily powered by penguins. Throughout I maintained full use of my site and e-mail whist being able to work on my cart. Lee got in touch to check that my e-mail was functioning correctly and also offering to update my cart with the SSL cetificate, advising me today that he had checked it and it is all sorted. Throughout no effort was too much, no query too big or small, any queries were dealt with in a friendly good humoured manner, communication was fast and efficient, usually barely 5 minutes between query sent and reply and they were very pro-active in keeping me informed at all stages. I was very nervous about the transfer process initially, worried that I might lose my site for several days or worse still lose any of my e-mails, but Lee at Powered by Penguins couldn't have made it any easier and my worries were unfounded. Bearing in mind most of the service provided was over the weekend, with late contact from me, they really did go beyond the call of duty and provided an exceptional service. Their control panel for administration is also great - it makes life so much easier. I had reason to get in touch with them on Sunday night and against expectations (it being a Sunday) again got an e-mail back very quickly, this time from Paul, who was equally as friendly and helpful. We wanted to switch servers due to problems with our old hosts. Powered by penguins were recommended to us by another website who we are in touch with so thought we would give it a go. We had problems transferring one of our databases across due to the size, but a quick chat with technical support soon had us on track. With our old host our wordpress site kept crashing, we got white screens randomly on our forum, and a couple of times the whole site would just go offline. Once we made the switch around a month ago all our glitches seemed to vanish over night!! Not had a single problem since!! On another note, their control panel is great....Loads of little extras that you dont seem to get with others!

I was setting up a website for the first time with no more than a very superficial knowledge of the technical details. My domain was registered elsewhere and I was having considerable difficulty directing traffic to my site. Powered by Penguins made all the difference answering queries with remarkable speed and giving me the basic knowledge that I should have been able to get from the domain registrar. They went well beyond the call of duty in just about every respect. It's fair to say that without them my website would probably still be lying dormant.

Not much to say really, excellent service. My site was set-up and running on my new hosting account in no time. Really really pleased so far. The best par to of the hosting is that it can be linked to use google apps automatically so that your websites email can be routed via Google. Just had the pleasure of having our web hosting move to Powered By Penguins. I was a bit nervous to say the least about moving our website as this is the bread and butter of my sales but I'm please to say it went pretty much perfectly.
