Manchester, MIA Secure Parking

USERS BEWARE - we have used Mia Meet and Greet on numerous occasions without problem, then they damaged our vehicle!

The VW amarok has a top bar with lights on which they smashed off going under a low canopy at their site (so they say). They requested

me to allow them to mend it themselves. It was returned to them twice and both times they failed to do the job with various excuses.

The saga went on for several months, in the end they had the bar put back on the vehicle. However, they failed to mend the dint in the roof and the scratching of the bull bars, whilst doing this work a further mark appeared - scraping the front wheel arch down to the metal, and can you believe it when the light bar was refitted only 2 out of the 4 lights worked they didn’t even check to see all of them worked! …….They even wanted us to pay parking with them of £55 for the third return visit for it to be sorted out! We have had no joy in getting them to pay for the repairs and have no other option than to take them to the small claims court. Apparently they have limited insurance cover. We don’t know what happens to our vehicles in their care but please bear our story in mind.

Also watch what happens to any cameras attached to your vehicle, we have recorded evidence of the female employee ripping it off and saying expletive words......and that thing can go...... will be putting it on Utube

My car was left with them for a week. The pick-up and return arrangement was very good. After setting off for home it was clear that the battery had been either run down or disconnected; the radio would not work (enter code message)and the trip mileage was back to zero. The rear bumper had had its paint scraped by a red vehicle whilst in their care and will cost £180 to repair. I have been trying to contact MIA by e-mail and recorded delivery mail on more than twenty occasions since then, with no response. It's the Small Claims Court next.

Car booked in for 10 days and to be valetted.May 2013.

On our return the car had been bumped on the back bumper.

We have now been fobbed off by MIA saying that the driver who collected it, bearing in mind we asked him to check it ( no Marks what so ever )said the car was dusty and he was not 100% sure about the damage.

That as the car was now clean we perhaps had not noticed it !! What utter rubbish !

Would most certainly not recommend this company !

The customer service is diabolical,they employ untrustworthy staff and the management staff are even worse to suggest such lies..

We booked our car in to MIA secure car park on Sharleston Road for eight days in October

When we landed we has to wait for fifteen minutes in the pouring rain for a pick up

Having got the car back we noticed it had been damaged at the front and the radiator was leaking

The manager denied it had happened there

We spent three weeks waiting for CCTV evidence which they said didn't pick up our car

As a result we lost our no claims bonus and the repair cost over £1,000

I would say don't ever leave your car at MIA car park in Manchester

Booked car parking for 6 days at skypark secure in Manchester. On the evening before we travelled my husband accidently filled our diesel car with petrol and the registered registration plate was no longer acceptable as we had to take our other car. Tried to contact skypark but nobody was available to speak to nor to answer emails. Arrived at site to try to alter booking for the other vehicle and nobody was available again. I emailed skypark to alter the booking and to date (although we are now home) nobody has bothered to contact us to deal with our request to amend the booking. Once they have your money they are not interested in customer service. Beware of booking in advance as you have no recourse in an emergency.

When I phoned on arrival, they had the wrong collection time logged and said they were not expecting me for another two hours. The driver however did come immediately and collect the vehicle.

When we returned, the car was promptly returned within 5 minutes although the reason for this soon became apparent when I checked the mileage. There was 25 miles on the clock over the drop off mileage. The car had been driven to/from the car park more than once. My explanation of this was that they were using the car to transport another driver. They denied this and refused to compensate for the unauthorised use of the vehicle.

My advice would be dont use MIA as they are untrustworthy and do not deal adequately with complaints.

I have used MIA Manchester regularly over the past 4 years with no problem until now. Having left my car yet again, as I thought in safe hands, it was a different story when I returned home.

I collected my car at the airport, the driver having as we thought, politely left the drivers door open, and drove home. Two days later we went outside and saw the damage to the drivers door........dented and scraped in three places right down the side. I immediately phoned MIA were I was told that they would have to speak to the night man as apparantly he was the one who drove it in, and they would phone me back the next day. Nobody phoned, so I phoned them again. I was then told that the damage was reported on the check list when it arrived at there car park and so could not be held responsible, and that it must of happened prior to me dropping it off.....I don't think so!

I then received a letter from them which annoyed me, as they said that they would phone me back which they never did,with a sheet detailing the damage to my car (could of been filled in at any time), explaining that they could do nothing as they \"can only assume that they happened prior to you bringing the car to us and that you did not notice them\"........joke!But they did offer me a weeks free parking..as if.

I phoned again saying that I had received the letter, I had not signed the check list, and so it could of been done at any time whilst I was away. They were quite adamant that it was not there fault, and as I couldn't prove otherwise have had to write this review to warn others.

If you want to park with MIA, then please take photos of your car, (dated if possible)before you drop it off ,and then at least you will be able to prove who's fault it really was. I was also told that I should of checked my car when I picked it up, what difference this would of made I don't know, because the damage was done whilst I was away. I have read several reviews on the same subject and MIA have never admitted to it being there fault, so that says it all.

To top it all, the lady on the phone got quite stroppy and eventually just put the phone down on me.......so much for good customere service!!

I used Manchester, MIA Secure Parking meet and greet service for this years airport parking, I have used them before with no problems, how ever this time I noticed when I got my car home the rear bumper had been pushed in.

I phoned and queried this straight away and was told it was not there responsibility as they quote in there T&C that once the car is out of there hands I have no claim on them as I should have checked it before taking the keys and that it was damaged before it came in.

Basically no one will get any recompense unless the car is checked by both parties on arrival and departure, MIA just get the key to you ASAP so legally they are covered.

I will never use them again, please be aware.

we have just used mia parking on our trip abroad excellent service and great value for money both of are cars where picked up promptly and dropped of with in minutes of each other will use again thank you.

Excellent service. No hassle parking. Were taken by shuttle bus to the airport straight away. On return, my car was parked outside the depot, so a speedy departure. Would highly recommend. Staff and service was excellent. For £24 for the week it was great value.
