“Do not buy a car from here!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by qkBradley422 on 11/08/2020

I purchased a car on finance only to find a week later I had fumes coming into the car and a rattle, I informed the garage and they gave me an address to go and get the car looked at, firstly I was shocked on how dirty and unprofessional the garage was and to be honest fobbed me off saying there was nothing wrong, three more trips back to said garage and in the end I paid for another garage to inspect the car only to find there was just over £4000 of repairs that needed to be done. I spoke to Audenshaws and they agreed to take the car back and said they would do me a deal on another, I paid another £1000 pounds as the car was more money so by this point I am down £3000, one week later I have clutch slip and have an engine light on and Audenshaws after me asking them to tell me where my money has gone as it hasn't come off my finance agreement said take us to trading standards...... DONT GO NEAR THEM

“Not as advertised ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by YuremWagner394 on 05/03/2018

Drove 2 hours to look at a Audi a1 after calling them first to ask about the car. Arrived and decided to buy it, only to be told while about to put down the deposit it was actually £500 more than the price in the advert and they wouldn’t honour the advertised price. The car wasn’t in perfect condition, it had a significant scratch on the bumper so we certainly werent prepared to pay even more for it. There was no negotiation so they lost a sale. To add insult, the advert on autotrader remained at the price we were told was wrong when I looked the following day - very misleading. I understand mistakes happen, but this was poorly handled by “the boss” of this company, as we were told by the salesman it was him who wouldn’t honour the advertised price. We brought a car from someone else after wasting our time with this place. Can’t say we’ll be going back again.

Brought my Vauxhall zafira from audenshaws 5 years ago, and have never had a problem with it, it has been a fantastic car, passed every mot, apart from this year when a rear Spring had to be changed, will go back again when I'm ready to change my car. The guy who served me was very informative, the only negative is the 3 month warranty,.

“Fiasco with used V50!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by O'Connellko316 on 24/05/2014

Ok, so I traded in a getting on v70 for an 05 reg V50, with reasonable miles. priced at £3990! This car came with full 12 months MOT and Audenshaws "x" points check list, 3 months warranty, all the USUAL! Picked it up from dealer, fuel gauge on fumes!, put £50 of diesel in and started to drive it home! First day I drove it home, half way, MAJOR electrical problems, wipers came on of their own accord, all dashboard lights were flashing, various warning messages, no accelerator function, car stops in middle of busy ring road system causing mayhem to other traffic! Finaly got it to restart and limped it home, two days later they picked it up and dropped off a less than road worthy courtesy car,(sticking accelerator, dodgy clutch Ford Mondeo)...but I lived with it! Almost two weeks later, no phone calls, phoned them....yes car can be picked up, new CMU module fitted...fine! Took their car back, after cleaning it, picked up mine, full of crumbs, ash, and dirt! Drove it home, 2 miles from home, rear nearside shocker collapsed and locked, ripping top casting mounting lugs out of body work, with a large bang clatter bang! Got it home! Four days later it was picked up, along with myself, back to dealer, money back by BACS... and take reposession of my old vehicle! OK, I gave them all suplied paper work, they gave me, after big search, my old V5, old MOT....but they have "lost" my hand book, and service book, I supplied with my old vehicle! This is after waiting two hours for the "gaffer" to turn up, who can do all the money transfers etc.! To add insult to injury, my old vehicle was originaly dropped off for PX with half a tank of fuel, it now was on fumes, and had done 180+ miles since they took posession two weeks previous!(Butty runs?) So what have I ended up with, my old vehicle back, minus ALL its supplied history paper work!.....Yes I got my money back, thankfully, albeit minus £50 worth od diesel! I had driven the "new", full MOT, vehicle twice, for less than 45 minutes each session, and both times it has thrown a major wobbly! And I am now back to square one, with an old expired MOT vehicle, minus its original supplied paper work, and £50 worth of fuel down the pan! You take from this what you will, but I for one will never cross their doorstep again! Attitude of staff after first problem....acceptable. Attitude of staff after second problem and requesting refund.....not so helpful or friendly! Recommendation.......AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!

written by on 19/07/2010

I purchased a 307 hdi (2002/02) for 3995 which did not include the write ins or the hp charges. Within 1 week it was returned to the garage with head gasket problems along with other minor faults including only 1mm tread on the nsr tyre. tyre changed for part worn and car off road for 1 week for engine repairs. got the car back only to find out that the repairers had damaged a brake pipe at the resivour... repaired same day.
Now the warranty is out there are faults popping up all over the place and i have had the local peugeot dealer (once) a local injector company (twice) and audenshaws own garage who all agree that there are problems with this car. at the request of audenshaws i have fitted a new air flow metre as this was 1 of the possiable faults... only now to find out its not cured any of the problems. now waiting for full report and costings from ingector company before audenshaes will do anything. the list of faults ranges from injectors to turbo.

if there are faults popping up everywhere then you need to contact trading standards, when your warranty runs out it doesn't mean thats it the garage are still responsible you have up to six months on a used car to return it under the sales of goods act,i have been in the same position so i know trading standards are on your side when it comes to faulty goods.

Sales guy at Audenshaws, Oldbury was very rude and abrupt when spoke to. Simple question asked. Missed out on a sale. Would not buy here on sheer attitude to customers alone!

i brought a car from Audenshaws for 4,500 in feb 09 3 weeks later it cut out completely and had to be towed back to the garage they told me they had repaired the problem but 2 weeks later i was back with the same problem, the car was again repaired but a month later the same problem occured, the problem was ongoing and the warrenty was about to run out i mentioned this to the garage who said they would still fix the car if it was the same problem,a month after the warrenty the car cut out completely the garage refused to fetch it saying i would have to pay when it got to the garage they refused to give me a courtsey car and said it would cost £300 to repair as it was not the same fault after speaking to the mechanic he said it was highly likely it was the same fault but the garage refused to admit liability, i said to go ahead and repair the car for £300 and did not hear anything for the next 2 days, i went to the garage to see what was happening and was told the car would cost £630,the garage till have the car as i cannot afford to pay for it and argued they fixed it without consulting me the garage staff would not listen and were not helpful at all

★★☆☆☆

written by sharon c on 06/02/2007

I recently bought a 02 Ford Mondeo Ghia, a nice car at a reasonable price, thats as good as it gets. On part exchanging my car I needed the private plates changed over and to get the sale I was told no problem, and given a date when it would all be done. I reiterated the importance of this date for insurance matters as the new car would now have the same plates as the old one, then at a cost to myself the date was set, an hour before I was due to set out and the expiry time on my original car the phone call came, "the car's not ready"! This was 7 days after the categoric assurance from the sales rep. Two cars now had the same plates, so this cost me more time and money to sort out with my insurance company just to make sure everything was legal. Eventually, 4 days later the car was ready to pick up. On arrival I noticed the new plates had not been put on the new car as promised. I then had the indignity of having the old plates exchanged from one car to another, a request for my additional costs to be reimbursed as a gesture for their incompetence were laughed at, and for £25 they have lost any future business from me, and I would never recommend Audenshaws to anybody.

written by amanda 1 on 08/10/2006

We bought a Galaxy 2.3 from Audenshaws for £8,500 and the salesman who we dealt with (Richard) was helpful and readily available whenever we called. Initially the car had to go back, as the starter motor kept sticking, they changed the fan belt for us but later sorted the starter motor!

We would visit Audenshaws again without hesitation but would like a longer warranty next time. 8,500 is a lot of money to only have a 3 month warranty on a car but we have been lucky, we've had the car 3 years and it's been fantastic in that time.

“I bought a 5 year old Clio with less than average...”

★★☆☆☆

written by tulips2705 on 11/05/2006

I bought a 5 year old Clio with less than average miles from Audenshaws, Oldbury, returning for the 2nd time, having bought our Zafira from them 3 years ago.
The customer service this time round was far from good, more so the after sales.
We noticed an oil leak on the day we took the car away so we were asked to return it the following day.
The power steering cable was blamed and changed.
The leak continued, it went back to the dealer, the sump gasket was identified as the problem and replaced.
The leak continued, it was decided by the dealers own garage that an engine clean should be done to identify the true cause, this was done and we were told to return a week later so the route of the leak could be clearly seen.
The leak was still evident - the garage said it was the crankshaft gasket.
At this point after having had the vehicle some 7 weeks or so the dealer said they would not do the repair within the warranty as it was wear and tear !

We also had problems setting up the finance agreemet with one of the sales staff staff who had confirmed to us in writing at the time of the sale certain particulars regarding 'no document fees' and when we came to sign it was a different matter.
The dealer used an external representative to bring in the finance forms and he was late so we ended up rushing the forms on the night we were due to take the car away.
We did manage to get the rep to offer us a better deal later that day which meant re-signing another set of forms and cancelling the original causing a slight delay (a few hours) for the dealer to get their money.
This bought out a very nasty side to one of the partners who to this day has been very agressive with us and even hassled me on my mobile at work the day we bought the car because of the change we had made with the finace agreement (he over looked that his representative had suggested it and sanctioned it !)
He has used foul language and been very abusive to my wife on several occasion's when we've had to call to report the oil leak.
We are now on our own as the dealer has left us with this problem that they cannot prove hadn't been there since the first day we reported it.
They could not have clearly identified where the leak was coming from until they did the engine clean and then blamed wear and tear when we have not even had the car 2 months !
Other faults were that the handbrake was very loose (even after the MOT !) again this was pointed out during the test drive as was the flat tyre which the salesman had to pump up before we took the test drive and we still have a slow puncture today.
We've mentioned the handbrake half a dozen times and nothing's been done.
We feel that we have been treated very poorly and now excuses are made to shirk out of what should have been a simple problem sorted (with the oil) so now we have to put the job right ourselves.
I am astonished that today you can still be treated in this way, once bitten , twice shy...... we will not make the same mistake again.

“I purchased a two year old Espace from this dealer for...”

☆☆☆☆☆

written by Paul Harvard on 24/06/2005

I purchased a two year old Espace from this dealer for £13,000 and within 5 days had identified numerous faults. The vehicle was returned but repairs were only undertaken to two items. The dealer stating that any faults were not identified and that existed when the vehicle was purchased were not covered.

The two faults we identified prior to purchase were accepted but the repairs were useless. The car had a leaking sun roof and missing headlight washer cover. The dealer ran a mastic seal around the sunroof so if you opened it bits of mastic stuck to the roof and the sunroof and they fitted a new washer cover which fell off within a week.

Other faults include faulty gearbox, excessive noise from the engine, damaged break light, second hand engine parts used, faulty battery and electrical faults. When I requested my money back the dealer refused.

I strongly recommend you never use this dealer.
