Didn't set up my online account. Didn't send renewal info. Took me 2.5 hours to get it sorted. When I came to pay it couldn't pay online as they hadn't given me a reference number !!! Spent another 2 hours on phone - customer service wouldn't take the payment sent me off to pay online - with no reference number !!!! Takes on average 25 minutes to get them to answer phone. It took me 21 minutes to sort insurance out with another company from start to finish - My advice - don't waste your time… Read Full Review

“Worst insurance company ever”

I have been with Legal and General for the past 12 months for my home insurance didn't have any issues until it was time to renew. I received several letters asking me to renew, as the price was quite reasonable I decided to go ahead. I previously paid upfront for my policy but decided this time to pay monthly with direct debit. “Waste of money ”

I contacted Legal and General regarding damage to my living room ceiling caused an unprecedented level of rain during a bad storm. Bearing in mind the guys from home emergency confirmed the roof was in a good state of repair, and cleared leaf debris from the base of the chimney stack near to the flashing which was the reason for rainwater backing up and finding a way into the loft etc. We live in an area surrounded by hills and forestry so leaf debris is inevitable, therefore, we could not have… Read Full Review

“Escape of water”

This is the worst experience of dealing with a company I have ever had. Our bathroom has sustained damage from a leaking pipe inside the wall in bathroom. Legal and general hired out a 3rd party group called the buildings consortium group. They sent a surveyor to my property who turned out to be pleasant and even gave me some advice. “Home insurance with bike cover ”

I had a bike included in my home insurance, but when the bike was stolen they did not accept my claim. My bike was specifically named and included in the insurance and covered up 1200 pounds. “Home contents laptop repair issue”

It is unrealistic to expect customer to pay the insurance excess for laptop repair (Broken screen) before it is even been picked up for assessment. And not tell them that up front. “Why, Why, Why, take out insurance?”

On the 1st of June I found out that I had a leak under my kitchen floorboards. There was over a foot of water and so I opened a claim with Saga who contacted their underwriters who are Legal and General who contacted a surveyor from BVS. I was told that as the water had not damaged the building there was no case and so it was closed. I had to repair the damaged pipes myself. HOLD ON THERE. Isn't that what I pay my insurance for? “L&G worse than being burgled ”

Since being burgled w have waited 5 months for a response to our claim which L&G are now refusing using every excuse in the book to try and deny our claim. Hi all.
It another follow up.
So interview went as scheduled, now we have to wait for Ryan direct group to contact EE to confirms a few things.
Very complicated claim it is, which a rather should be straightforward is very complicated.
It over a week today and my claim is still not near settlement.
And that's what I'm paying £30 month.
Only now wondering if a claim won't be accepted to go to ombudsman or directly to court for breach of t&cs by legal and general.
Up to the date have done exactly what legal and general asked me to as well as Ryan direct group.
We gave them all documents they required called all the company's they asked us to call. So we wait.

That's all for now.

Hi all
So I would like to share with u another update.
Rdg called me and informed as there should be no issues with my claim therefore they will forward it back to Legal and General and it will take up to 5 business days to process.
Today 17th April that's 2 weeks since I made a claim and no resolution in place.
Just have to wait and see.
BTW EE were able to provide 2 out of 3 IMEI numbers after almost 2 weeks of asking which was helpful at the end
So we will update u within next few days regarding outcome

“Never pay out!”

Premiums are reasonably competitive, and they try and get you to trade up to their best packages. As a customer or 5 years , the first time I had to claim for a perfectly reasonable leak they pulled every clause out of the bag possible to avoid paying. My advice is go with an insurance company that can be trusted. You're better saving any premium that you would spend on them to put towards whatever problem that you have. Claim for water damage from leaking pipes, after 6 weeks they verbally agreed a settlement, before reneging on this. 4 months later I am still none the wiser as to why. “Avoid at all costs”

I've only awarded one star as there is no option to award none. We took out a policy with them through the agency of the Post Office as part of their mortgage package. Our condenser tumble drier leaked causing damage to our floor and they have denied the claim on the basis that the tumble drier was not "plumbed in", even though there is nothing in the policy which says that it has to be.
