“OPODO - Fraudulent Operation”

We lined up an airline booking with this firm online. We confirmed the detail over the phone with their agent who told us there were 6 seats available etc etc. Having satisfied that all was well over the phone we continued the on-line booking paying in full all of which went through with no hitches. Booked online for a 6 day trip to Malaga. Got confirmation of the return flight, but not of outward. Requested confirmation via automated phone service: nothing arrived.Phone number for customer service on website no longer in service, finally found one through internet search. I recently booked a trip through Opodo. I paid for my luggage in advanced to avoid higher fees at the airport. When I checked in with Olympic Air at the airport they told me I had not paid for my luggage and they charged me again. When I returned from my trip I contacted Opodo several times to resolve this matter and was given a complete run around. Booked flights and paid. Got email overnight telling me price had doubled. Spoke to CS, complained but reluctantly agreed, so they cancelled my original payment and took payment for new amount. Booked a flight. They email to say there's an amendment but don't say what. I follow the link - everything looks fine. I ask them to clarify what the amendment is. They reply with the original non specific email. I call. They say 'oh yes, flight is cancelled'. I ask what would have happened if I hadn't called. The guy says 'well you know now'. Work with major airlines only so the prices for flights are not always the cheapest. General Comments I think the Opodo website is a easy to search on, it looks good and you can find what you want quite easily. I made a booking on Opodo, for a Virgin flight to Nigeria. They failed to communicate appropriately that the flight is without checked baggage. That was written in small print, in between pages during the booking. There was no proper warning about this, and when I subsequently found out and made contact with them. Note self. It is important to always read reviews before purchasing as I have had a nightmare dealing with opodo, very fishy and shady company, customer service was useless when I rang to complain. My husband and I recently embarked on our trip of a lifetime from New Zealand as he had just retired, we are in our sixties. I had booked flights from Brussels to Bristol and then Bristol to Venice, just under a year ago. I was scanning the net for prices for flights to spain from UK to visit a friend. On opodo a message popped up that the flights I was looking at had decreased by £200 for two tickets. I was amazed, how lucky was that. I thought Id ring to book immediately. Over 5 minutes to get through and then a person with poor English and a VERY noisy background answered. Booked a flight and then unfortunately needed to change the flight for two days later. After four phone calls totalling 1 1/2 hours and just being left hold with a promise of someone will talk to me, I just had to give up and stick to original dates, even though I had paid for a flexible flight and cancellation insurance. Absolutely disgusted by Opodo - booked a flight, waited more than 24 hours for confirmation but when I called they lied and said my booking hadn't been completed and said my bank refused payment. After checking with my bank, I was told that Opodo didn't try to take it. Rebooked with them at a higher price only to have to call them again after waiting more than 24 hours to be told there had been another price hike. “The world's worst online travel agency!”

Forced to cancel return flights from Antigua to Tortola and back due to Hurricane Irma, I continue to suffer the worst ever experience of this kind at the hands of Opodo - over two months later! Despite numerous phone calls(often being cut-off) and e-mails, having to repeatedly re-explain the full details of my booking and cancellation reason etc, I seem to be no nearer receiving the promised refund.
