“Great wee scooter”

★★★★★

written by on 10/09/2015

If the sun is shining on a warm summers day nothing beats a trip on the 202.A great wee scooter twist and go .To keep it as new use it daily and have it serviced regularly by a qualified mechanic at your local scooter shop and it will serve you well.

“Good for citys not so good at long halls ”

The scooter is a good and reliable with good exseleration and average stopping power. I've one one for 1year now and I've done 2300 mials taking it to and from school which for me is over 30 miales away the problam was that it is restricted to 30mph which was a bit slow on roads that people normally do around 50-60 on. I have used it around town to meet with friends and a bit of fun riding, for this it's brilliant (the roDs that I yused to get to school were back roads in the contryside) Good Agility is brilliant Value for money is brilliant Brakes good Fun factor good Highly reliable Bad Slow Dime lights

“2011 tgb 202 classic scooter”

★★★★★

written by dp56muz on 05/10/2013

If you a thinking of buying one of these scooters you want go wrong, providing you take care of it. I purchased mine from new and have covered just over 9,000 miles. I travel 50 miles per day, and get 150 miles on £6.50 of petrol, I use Castrol 2 stroke scooter oil which I believe is one of the best, which costs £9.99 (avoid cheaper oils). Some people derestrict them and ask a bit much from them by pushing them to the max. So if you want a cheap reliable scooter this could be the one for you. Hope this helps.

I have 2011 . 50cc 202 classic. great little scooter. derestricted it will go 40mph but I keep to 30mph and only use extra power when really necessary . I have done nearly 10,000 miles up to now and it seems to still be going well.it cost me aprox £6.50 to go about 150 miles. I travel 50 miles a day on it....so if you want a trouble free scooter stick to 30mph and you cant go wrong..And me I LOVE IT TOO

“Miles Per Gallon”

★★★☆☆

written by on 14/06/2012

Recently I bought a TGB 202 Classic, and, having read these reviews I'm surprised at the ignorance of some of the writers who think that they are obtaining over 100 mpg. The odometer shows kilometres, not miles.A kilometre = 0.621 of a mile. Therefore, the person who claims 140 mpg is actually obtaining just under 87 mpg,but this is quite good, though, because my 202 is averaging just over 70mpg.

“TGB 202 Classic Fantastic little ped and great value!”

★★★★★

written by Jonny7 on 15/11/2011

I have had my TGB nearly 4 months now and have just under 2000 miles on the clock from new and I have loved every ride out on it! I use it Mondays to Thursdays to get to college which is about 4 miles each way and I go home during my breaks. I also ride a lot for pleasure. First of all the acceleration is fantastic! A lot faster than a couple of mates who have both peds and motorbikes that are 50cc. Secondly the MPG is great!! 140 miles on one tank which is the best I've had which is about £7 and lasts me around three weeks! (And I ride a lot!)And that's a lot better than my mates Gilera Runner which has a bigger tank and we filled up at the same time and we was riding together as he has just recently bought his so I was showing them around and he had to fill up when I still had half a tank left! Thirdly the ride is great! Just glides across the road! It is fantastic going around corners and I can fly round them with no problems at all! Its a lot of fun even though its a ped! Fourthly the speed before I got it derestricted was around 32-33 MPH and when I got it derestricted its currently hitting 40-42 MPH on straights, 38-40 up hills and around 41-45 MPH depending on the condition of the road and I am currently looking into getting derestricted fully as I've been informed that its only been partly derestricted and that's why I am getting 45 MPH. Finally the looks of the little TGB is fantastic! I've seen quite a few on the roads and they always catch my eye when I see them! Overall this bike is absolutely fantastic!! I love it! Its just a shame that TGB don't do a 125 geared bike as I am saving up for one as I have just turned 17. I defiantly would recommend this bike to every one!!

“I owned a TGB 202 Scooter for over a year, using it as...”

written by Dungbug on 11/03/2011

I owned a TGB 202 Scooter for over a year, using it as my daily commute and to runaround on at weekends. I was lucky to find a second hand one for £400 with 3k on the clock.
Having owned Italian and Japanese scooters in the past I was pleasantly surprised with the reliability and performance of this little Taiwanese built machine. Mine was unrestricted and could manage a steady 45mph, nearly 50mph downhill. I used this little scoot all year round in all weathers (ice, snow, rain & shine) & it never failed to start and get me to where I wanted to go. The same couldn't be said for my previous Italian scoot! MPG was excellent as you would expect.

Good points were the afore mentioned reliability & economy, but this is also a well built piece of kit. I fitted an alarm to it and the panels came off and went back on without any problem, nothing broke or refused to go back where it had come from. Parts are easily available as TGB have a good network of authorised dealers throughout the UK. The ride was comfortable and the hnadling was firm and sure, it never worried me taking a roundabout or a bend at speed regardless of wet conditions.

Bad points, not many really. The oil header tank is a bit awkward to get to, you will need a crosshead screw driver to remove the cover flap and a bendy funnel to put the oil in (unless you want to spill oil over the foot plate). The exhaust seem to rust overnight so I treated mine to a generous coat of exhaust paint every few months to prevent it from rusting out, this seemed to do the trick.

A year later and with a mileage reading of nearly 9k she was still going strong. Never failed to start in bad weather and would sit happily at 45mph as always, I sold her on as I needed to use a car for nursery runs but I wish I hadn't sold it. The ride was enjoyable, easy to use and I always knew she'd get me home without any hassle.

Great little ped and I will certainly buy another some time this year due to rising fuel costs.

I just bought one of these to get to the train station and back, 3 miles each way. Mine does 35 mph unrestricted with great accelleration. Now I zip to places I don't need my car for to save petrol costs.

It is a really nice bike.

I would buy another

I have had the tgb 202 classic for 3 weeks now and I have absolutely loved it, ive done 575 miles on £30 with just under a half tank left. also im not a small person weighing in at 16 stone. for a little bike to do so well with such a load is amazing. reli good bike would recommend to all. as for the person up top who fell off twice. that's not the bike its the rider. u probable put your brakes on whilst on the roundabout :L PLEB!!!

I have had mine for about 8 months now and it is awesome.
It runs very well and has very fast exceleration but only does about 42 top end speed. I have a tgb exhaust on it that cost me 120 pound and im also looking to derestrict it soon. One of my friends had the same scooter with the same exhaust but when he had it derestricted it did 57 mph it flew.

The TGB 202R Classic is not bad, quite fast from just derestriction I just blew the engine but I think the previous owner had someting to do with it. Otherwise not bad good for money, but usually rather reliable. Touch wood or a carrot.

I've owned my TGB 202R Classic for 5 months now and have enjoyed it. It has got me around and is very reliable. Does very good mileage to the gallon and a full tank is about £5.00. Bad point is it's very hard to modify (e.g race exhausts) as it is a budget ped but overall is very good
