Despite the poor reviews from some people (you rarely hear the good reviews)I decided to go with Tesco as they promised no rise in prices during your contract unlike many other operators who add an rpi increase every year. So how did it go? ordering a galaxy s5 mini online was easy. Online chat answered all my questions. I like the idea that your contract is made up of a cost for the phone and a cost for the service, once you have paid for your phone the price falls to service only element or i can upgrade if i like. Phone arrived 3 days later and this is why they lost a star. The packaging could be improved. No damage to the contents but the box was a little battered. Got through to an adviser and gave him my Pac code and 24 hours later my number has been transferred. No complaints from me, maybe I'm just lucky?

Tesco mobile is great value for n Money with good coverage as it uses o2 network. I use tesco and my wife uses o2. Coverage and signal strength are identical.

It is very good if you want cheap deals, the customer serviceve and network service are mediocre though overall it is a good network if you want cheap deals.

I would and do recommend Tesco Mobile to friends. I bought a Samsung Galaxy Ace on a monthly contract which was very good. I would have gone to Carphone and got the same phone with a free 7" Tablet but the contract on O2 was only 50 mins for £17.50pm compared with £10 for 500mins. A no brainer. The phone is great for my uses - I'm not a smart phone addict - but could easily become one. The Tesco network mirrors O2 and works everywhere I have wanted it to unlike my partners Or*nge iPhone that often fails to find a signal much to my amusement when I think how much she is paying! One drawback however is lack of call forwarding and Tesco should address this immediately.

Have had a sim only £10 deal- 500mins, unlimited texts, no data (I don't have a smartphone), never any problems with charges. good customer service. All additional costs explained (eg making calls abroad)

Having suffered at the hands of Orange in the past, I was gutted when my son lost his phone with his almost brand new sim only from Tesco mobile. However, I am delighted to say that Tesco Mobile have restored my faith in customer service. One online chat, one security question, one minute and I was sorted - one new sim in the post, no charge, no hassle.

Moved from Virgin mobile where the coverage was really poor in my area, so was unable to make full use of mobile when at home. Changed to new contract with Tesco, customer services excellent, delivery good , and even more important coverage for first time in years excellent.

I've been with Tesco Mobile on contract over 18 months now and would highly recommend them to anyone who needs good network coverage at a very reasonable cost. Transferring my number over from an other network was a doddle, customer service were great and it was all up and running very quickly. I've tried most networks out there and this one is very good.

I only wanted a cheap pay as you go phone, no interest in internet, smartphone etc - I have a laptop and a landline. Got fed up with t-mobile's massive prices and so switched to Tesco as their O2 coverage is good where I live, and they currently have very good rates on the 'lite' tariff, 4p a text and 8p a call. transferred my old number over in a day, with no argument from t-mobile. There was a bit of a technical hitch with Tesco's systems not syncing up, but the phone actually worked and it didn't take long to sort out. be aware; Tesco put premium rate contact numbers on the SIM and on a simple phone you can't delete or edit them. So need to be very careful not to call them. Also calling customer care costs money, so if you have a landline with free 0845s, do it from there. so far so good.

I must say after I had read the reviews on here I was very apprehensive about taking a contract up with Tesco Mobile but as friends already have contracts with them and have had no problems decided to take the plunge. I cannot fault their service from start to finish, ordered one phone by telephone and as the other phone I wanted was out of stock ordered the next one online and received both phones the next day after I had placed the order. I even had a phone call from the lady who ordered my first phone to tell me that the phones were back in stock and had I managed to order one. The internet wasn't working on my phone and I telephoned customer service and they couldn't have been more helpful and even gave me a £5 discount off my bill for the inconvenience. The internet was working within 24 hours as they said it would be and my daughter has had no problems with her phone either. Very few phone signals work where we live as we are in a dip but the signal has been excellence and has so far given me the same coverage as my old Orange network. Tesco gave us a fantastic deal and Orange couldn't match it. Don't know whether different areas have different staff but as yet I cannot fault them.

Fantastic network - uses O2 masts, so OK signal. However, O2 users get priority, so I sometimes have dropped calls when out in the country. Also no internet tethering. Being so cheap makes up for any issues!

As an employee at a Tesco Express store I get discount on Tesco mobile so for me it represents even better value for money. Got a great HTC phone, 500mins, unlimited text and internet all for only £15 a month. I have had the need to contact customer services in the past due to the internet not working but this was due to a network error which they was already aware of. Quick and easy to get hold of a customer service rep and polite and professional.

I ordered my iphone online at around 2pm the man was at the door with it at 8am the next morning, prior to which i read the reviews and thought oh no im not even gonna open it, its going straight back but i decided to give it a try and i did all the things that the start menu says to do and set up my wifi and i tunes i have not had one single problem with it, yeah the signal bar usually stays on half instead of full but it doesnt affect my 3g or anything, not had to call customer services as of yet so cant comment on that but i am so far happy with tesco mobile (after being with orange for 5 years) i got a brilliant deal and i am very happy with the service i have recieved so far, so before you read the reviews and think to steer clear give them a try you have 14 days to decide so nothing to lose, i am certainly glad i did! :)

I have only been with Tesco mobile for the last couple months, however I am pleased to report I am extremely happy with the service so far. Having read the bad reviews I decided to try the phone out for 14 days then I if I was happy to terminate my contract with T Mobile. The changeover from my previous network went very smoothly, I have been amazed at how good customer service has been considering the negative reviews. I have got the Samsung Galaxy S2 on a 24 month contract 1500mins 5000 text and 1GB of data. So far the network coverage has been very good although during my 2 week trial the network covergae went down for a couple hours, this has not happened since and the network coverage is much better than T Mobile. I am now able to talk on my phone all the way to liverpool street on the overground train. Fingers crossed this will continue throughout my contract.

I have yet to find the perfect network provider. Having fallen out with 3 mobile many years ago and being overcharged to the extreme by Orange.
Signal coverage has been fine although my other half does say the majority of calls he makes to me do go straight to voicemail.
Customer Service - Mybe I've been lucky but I have always spoken to polite, helpful staff in UK call centres.
Value for money - I am on a 1 month SIM only contract(no long tie in!) and for £10 per month I get 500 mins, unlimited texts & data (subject to fair usage) - How can that NOT be good value???
I hope continue to happy with Tesco Mobile and I haven't just jinxed myself!!!

I've been with Tesco mobile on PAYG for 9 months now. Would recommend for calls, texts and the price of phones (usually good value plus there's usually special offers on Tesco Direct or in store). Plus the coverage is excellent as they use the O2 network and I've found the customer service excellent, provided you phone-up rather than e-mail them. The triple-your-top-up deal, coupled with half price calls (10p/min) and texts (5p) to your 5 favourite numbers, makes this the most cost effective PAYG on the market for those making moderate levels of calls and texts. (I.e. top-up £10, get another £20 for free to use for 1 month - your original £10 is used last and doesn't expire after the month). Set up a regular monthly top up and you get a further 10% off. Or, if you rarely use £10 or more per month you can go onto the 'lite' tariff where all calls are 8p/min and texts 4p, though you don't benefit from the triple top-up when you're on this tariff. The lite tariff matches Asda and Talk Mobile but Tesco's phones are cheaper and you get triple clubcard points on top-ups.
The downside with Tesco Mobile comes if you use the internet. £4/mb is an outrageous price, even for occasional use, and is simply the most expensive rate on the market. You can buy a £2/week pass which will give you 100mb/week which is OK but still not the best rate out there, costing over £8 per month. As I only tend to use the internet every so often I can't really warrant renewing the pass every week - but neither am I prepared to pay £4/mb so I keep having to turn the pass on and off. This saves money but means I don't get the most out of my smartphone. Also the pass system hasn't been overly reliable, although that seems to be resolved now. A shame they don't do a £5/month pass like Orange and Vodafone which I'd probably leave on all the time.
Overall, Tesco Mobile provide an excellent value PAYG service for calls and texts, sell good-value phones, and I've also found the coverage and customer service excellent. However, the downside is the cost of the internet - might try Talkmobile (25p/day internet) once I've been with Tesco for a year and can get my phone unlocked.

I had a very pleasant experience in Tesco mobile shop - helpful staff, not pushy, very informative etc. The staff informed me should I have any issues with the phone, rather than call the customer service number which is 20p-25p? a minute, to call the actual Tesco shop (phone section) and speak to someone there which is a lot cheaper, and should deal with your issue far faster than going through all the automated nuisance on the customer service line. So I think that's a good tip. So far I am very happy with my phone and have not experienced any problems.
