I cannot stress how much Arnold Clark should be avoided. I bought a car from the Preston Motorstore in June of this year. The vehicle had multiple issues when sold to me, that were all reported immediately. One issue should have been an MOT failure, and another was a catastrophic failure of the central locking. Arnold Clark stay clear of this business because I got my clutch fixed just before lockdown I complained the next day after getting it back because the clutch went right down to the floor and I couldn’t get the car out my drive then a few days after that the same happen again and the little light come on they said it was a glow plug an unrelated problem and then eventually they took it back in and gave me a courtesy car and said they repaired it as a good will jesture. Took my car for a service on a Friday at 11am. Dropped my car off had to get work done to a tyre, tried to book the work and was told all tradesman had finished for the day as it was a friday and they finish early. Which i understood. Got my car back and it was making a noise. I complained got the car checked and they told me i’d need a new clutch. Just had my MOT the month before and nothing was said about needing this work done. Got a new 69 plate Citroen relay on February 2020. The come lockdown March so new van sat at the house for 6 month used couple times till September. Stared back work September for 2 weeks. The van broke down phone to have van recovered but aye was not covered Citroen start there cover for recovery from Arnold Clark buy it not me. So had AA out to it told me turbo prob. I received extremely poor service from Arnold Clark Oldbury, I bought a car in October18 which was faulty and i was made to feel like a nuisance because i had to keep calling them to see when i could get my car back A person from services department was so rude she refused to correspond with me and only sent txt messages to my husband. You live and learn and I certainly have. I set my mind on a Honda Jazz and end of April / beginning of May I had one transported from Dundee to a showroom in Stockport (sorry it was Salford), something I will never ever do again. I bought a car from Arnold Clark in Dundee end of March 2007. It was a Hyundi I40. It was a 63 plate with 2 years left of the manufactures 5 year warranty. It had only done approx 36000 miles at a cost of £8500. I had it 1 year and i had to replace the clutch. I approached Arnold Clark because it was still in under warranty. Small gripes - service plan only includes minor service despite manufacturer recommends major/minor alternating. (this is not explained on purchase) - sell warranty on the pretence it covers same as SEAT extended warranty. It does not. I went to look at a car over the weekend at Blackpool Arnold Clark. I was looking for a nice easy deal Had no px and would have been a cash sale. This doesn’t surprise me at all, I bought a Vauxhall Mokka in Jan 2015, I loved it, sale was great. I then received a call in January 2017 saying that I should pop in and see them as they had the new Mokka X that had the faults all ironed out, faults? I asked. I was told to pop in and see them. I went and was basically told that the Mokka I had had been having the same problems as the Zafira and was bursting into flames, the salesman by this point also knew I had a disabled child that has no sense of danger. He basically scared me into agreeing to upgrade to the Mokka X and put it to me as “for less than £20 extra a month it ensures the safety of your boy” so basically played on my sons disability so I would feel I’d have no option. I panicked and thought because my first experience with Arnold Clarke Blackpool was so good that he was really looking out for us. Turns out the Mokka has never had an issue with going on fire and it was all to scare me enough to agree to a new car. I’m so disappointed that someone would play on a child’s disability like that, it’s disgusting. Why on earth would I have changed a white Mokka for another white Mokka that was just 2 years old and got myself into a load more debt? I wouldn’t only for the stories I was told. Any parent would have done the same after being lead to believe that garbage. I contacted the manager a few weeks ago only to be told there’s nothing they can do as he no longer works there but they could offer me another finance deal back on the throw of Mokka I had originally!!! Appalling customer service! And using a child’s disability for a sale, you should be ashamed of yourself Arnold Clarke
