“poor regard for customer”

Written on: 25/01/2014 by hibman (1 review written)

Was with DF for a few years then retired so handed web site to new guy who moved it to a different company. I wrote and told them and asked them to cancel everything. However one year later they still took money. They said I didn't cancel correctly as per T&C. When I asked for my money back expained I was now a pensioner and could ill afford the money and that none of their services had been used for 12 months they said no way. In my opinion I would choose a different web hosting company. One… Read Full Review

I am sorry you feel that we have let you down. However Invoice notices were sent to notify you of an upcoming renewal to which no action was taken, and thus the account was renewed.

As there is data on the account, which belongs to the client, we are not able to 'assume' this is no longer needed or wanted, and thus we cannot delete an account.

An account can be cancelled at any time in your client area, which would 'immediately' remove your account, and the due invoice. As you had not cancelled the account, it was then re billed.

This has been the same method of billing every year you have been with us, which was not a problem in past billing periods.

Totally agree, poor regard for the customer full stop. I am sure they are breaking the law but not being a solicitor I wouldn't know.

We host our company's website at Dataflame using one of their VPS products and have to say its not very good as a professional service. Most of the time it is fine, but once every month or two we get an outage, which knock the server offline and stay offline until we contact their support team. To their credit their support are very quick to resolve issues, but such incidents should never occur in the first place. If you're looking for a cheap, non-critical system then I'm sure they are fine… Read Full Review

“Support just not what it use to be”

Written on: 10/03/2012

Over the years they were a great company to deal with, however over the past few months I have found them to be slacking in the support department. I guess this is just another sad story of a company that once believed in customer relations with a personal feel to it, but as always as a company grows they all tend to loose sight of what really keeps the company alive...its customers and the service they offer which is a class above the rest! In terms of value, you can't complain...I just… Read Full Review

In my experience, not a very good hosting company that makes up for its "overloaded" hardware with good Live support.

I do not recommend Dataflame… Read Full Review

Real problems with communication. Who are these people? I took a Dataflame account on one package, and then asked to swap to a different package. The next thing I knew was my website got deleted and I lost everything. Up-time was generally good. An option to take as long as you never need to communicate using simple English… Read Full Review
