Had the Homeserve plumbing cover via Southern Water. Leak through downstairs wc ceiling but plumber came & said not allowed to take up floorboards! Rang their office who said yes of course he can no problem, two further visits from different Homeserve plumbers to be told the same, third one called his area manager in front of me & said “we don’t take up floorboards do we?” Surprise....his manager agreed yet their head office stated they would do this & confirmed at time of making… Read Full Review

“DO NOT GET COVER WITH THESE!! ”

Cannot believe how this company is allowed to get away with the extorionate prices the want to charge me to fit a boiler!! I took the level of cover so i was covered if my boiler was to break, i had it's annual service this week fri 8th march and was told that my boiler was dangerous and had a leak so they capped it off no longer fit for use which is fair enough couldn't thank them enough for sorting it straight away and rang me to sort out a date for them to get someone else out to price up… Read Full Review

Be careful of this outfit. I have been with Home Serve for many years and have never made a claim. My boiler boiler recently breakdown and their engineers deemed this to be beyond repair . Although my policy covers a replacement boiler in the event of the boiler being beyond economical repair their caller centre team informed me that i was not covered. No call backs when promised Poor communication, passed from one to another, call centre people don't like you ringing all the time, but they need to understand customers are always right. They are getting paid to do a proper job, not to fob people off. I contacted London's headquarters Home serve, to complain. I waiting a reply. I won't be recommending them ever. “Never followed up on promised work”

Had 2 polices, both plumbing, first one "covered" the outside pipes, plumber came and cleared pipe but said it was a temporary fix and more work was needed, then never came back, even after numerous calls to HomeServe. That was May 2018. Rrepair a leak to water supply pipe, investigate issue with meter and leaking toilet. Require 3 visits in all. response to my call for help was prompt, further work as it occurred was attended to promptly and was well organised. Waited in today for engineer to arrive for my boiler's annual service. Half way through the afternoon I used the Online chat function to speak to Homeserve to get assurance that the engineer was on his way. I was told that the appointment had been cancelled two weeks ago because no engineer was available!! Nobody from Homeserve had bothered to tell me and looking at other reviews this doesn't seem uncommon. I pay for the reassurance that if anything goes wrong with my boiler it will be fixed in a timely manner.....not so here. My boiler has a fault and I have no hot water/heating and I have been given an appointment in 5 days time to have it fixed. This is completely unacceptable, what am I paying £250 per year for? To summarize, this has been a train wreck!! I get a refund check for a service I never signed up for, I contact them and they tell me I did sign up, mailed them a post card, which I did not do. Advised rep cancel now, she said she did, but could not send me an email confirmation. I get charged on my electric bill, contact them again, rep says yes, cancelled 6/13 and I'd get a refund on my next electric bill. “waste of money”

Booked engineer appointment online to fix the toilet flush. Replaced parts in cistern and all seemed to be ok. Engineer left but I discovered he had not re- fixed cistern to the wall. He was still in his van so I called him back no comment from him. Screwed one side couldn't do other, said that will be alright.So found a washer and screw and did the job myself. Purchased this home service insurance and what a mistake! A representative explained we needed a part to complete a service call. Waited 3 days before getting a call that part "needed to be ordered" and was given the cost. I did some research on the cost of this part which is easily purchased online and delivered next day. I have a drainage problem and have been trying to book an appointment, i have been on hold for a staggering 2 hours and 15 minutes and still no response. the on line booking system is not working and I am 102 in the queue for live chat. I'm going to file a grievance with the BBB this company are members. My complaint is that when the technician came out he reported to home serve that the dishwasher was not repairable. After I called them they offered me either another sub par model ( replacing Maytag with low level GE ) or $339.00. I accepted the monetary amount. That was mid November. “Heating problem ”

This is the worst company to go with for heating cover. I had to cancel my cover due to the poor service I received from them. The problem was our heating did not switch off and was on all the time so we rang homeserve they sent 2 engineers out he tested the water looked in the loft and checked the boiler. He told me this is going to be a big job and then goes I will send the report to homeserve and another engineer will come out and do the work.
