I had been an Homeserve customer for years and In November 2016 I had issues with my boiler. I called Homeserve because I was desperate to get my boiler fixed as I had a two-month-old baby. It took them a few days to send the engineer to diagnose the issue and they diagnosed it wrong. Another engineer came a couple days later to take a water sample and said that he will need to send it to get it checked and it can take 10 days for the results to come back. I'm paying your invoice under duresse. Before I had any problems all my electric points functioned. Then a fuse blew rendering them useless. I contacted you. Your service is bad, to begin with your price went up from €125 to €145, I don't know why, then your man phoned to say he would arrive at 16hrs which was much longer than your 2 hours as advertised. Homeserve inspected the boiler of tenanted property in early September. Despite 5 phone calls, 2 e-mails to customer services, promises of replies from their escalation team within 24 hours - no response received from Homeserve as of 28/10/19. There has been a breach of the lay in the absence of a certificate and this has been explained to them many times. “Induction hob repair”

Do not ever use Homeserve to repair your hob. My hob has been out of action since March. They have tried to repair my 5 ring induction hob and I have been left with one ring to cook on for months. Had the Homeserve plumbing cover via Southern Water. Leak through downstairs wc ceiling but plumber came & said not allowed to take up floorboards! Cannot believe how this company is allowed to get away with the extorionate prices the want to charge me to fit a boiler!! Be careful of this outfit. I have been with Home Serve for many years and have never made a claim. My boiler boiler recently breakdown and their engineers deemed this to be beyond repair . Although my policy covers a replacement boiler in the event of the boiler being beyond economical repair their caller centre team informed me that i was not covered. No call backs when promised Poor communication, passed from one to another, call centre people don't like you ringing all the time, but they need to understand customers are always right. Had 2 polices, both plumbing, first one "covered" the outside pipes, plumber came and cleared pipe but said it was a temporary fix and more work was needed, then never came back, even after numerous calls to HomeServe. That was May 2018. Rrepair a leak to water supply pipe, investigate issue with meter and leaking toilet. Waited in today for engineer to arrive for my boiler's annual service. Half way through the afternoon I used the Online chat function to speak to Homeserve to get assurance that the engineer was on his way. I was told that the appointment had been cancelled two weeks ago because no engineer was available!! Nobody from Homeserve had bothered to tell me and looking at other reviews this doesn't seem uncommon. I pay for the reassurance that if anything goes wrong with my boiler it will be fixed in a timely manner.....not so here. My boiler has a fault and I have no hot water/heating and I have been given an appointment in 5 days time to have it fixed. This is completely unacceptable, what am I paying £250 per year for? To summarize, this has been a train wreck!! I get a refund check for a service I never signed up for, I contact them and they tell me I did sign up, mailed them a post card, which I did not do. Advised rep cancel now, she said she did, but could not send me an email confirmation. I get charged on my electric bill, contact them again, rep says yes, cancelled 6/13 and I'd get a refund on my next electric bill.
