“Great customer service”

★★★★★

written by jiOlson494 on 27/10/2015

Great customer service,my salesman was open, informative and very funny. He put me at complete ease as I have never bought a car for this amount of money before. Although there was no movement on the price,I had done my research and for the age and mileage it was a really fair price. They offered me a fair deal on my part ex and the whole process was painless. I cannot speak highly enough of the salesman,he was absolutely fantastic and not just there with the mentality of must sell at all costs. He is a credit to the company and I will be sure to use the Chorley branch again when buying again in the future.

“service and recalls ripoff”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 30/04/2015

Took my transit van for a recall oil pump job , was told they wouldn't complete the job unless i replaced the sump cover that was showing corossion at a cost of 219 pounds the van was 3yrs 1month old and i found myself in a virtual blackmail situation so i gave the go ahead but told them to leave the old cover in the van for me to inspect i took this cover to a local mot garage who told me that it didn't needs replacing and i had the same opinion myself because there was no oil leaking onto the driveway where it was parked i therefore came to the conclusion that i had been hoodwinked into replacing the sump cover and i intend trying to recover the cost through the small claims court be wary of this outfit wonder has anybody else had similar problems when taking a vehicle for a recall job

“Do NOt buy a used car from Evans Halshaw”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 19/11/2012

Bought a 59 reg Mondeo from Chorley branch, sold with FSH ( full service History) , noticed no mats and some bad chips on the paintwork and one of the parcel ledge supports missing . Condition of sale was mats, replacemant peg for parcel ledge and paint repair. Evans Halshaw provided own mats, cheap and nastty, had to chase up for two weeks after for parcel ledge peg. The collection of the car had to be delayed 4 days for the "bodywork" man to repair the chips. On collection looked OK, but on closer inspection, the chips had only been roughly dabbed with a stone chip touch up brush, and most probably by a gease monkey. But the best bit came on the next service, the local independant gararge( ex ford man), pointed out there was no full service history , the last service done by Evans Halshaw was not the correct service according to the Ford Sevice Schedule, and they has replaced brake pads with non Ford parts. Advoid Main Ford dealer, buy from car supermarket, same difference in long run.
