I'm customer of Strato and I'm disappointed because Strato failed in protecting my personal information completely. Read on... I know about WHOIS and I don't mind my personal information being displayed based on a domain name. Strato also informs you about this in its Privacy Policy. This pieces of shlt refused to update my DNS contact details after requesting a paper form/application to be signed and submitted with the updates. Their management system if pre-historic! I will never buy anything from Strato AG or their other companies, such as Cronon AG. Their management team is also something totally virtual. “Psycho support team”

If you see a good review for this company, I can pretty much guarantee that it will be fake. They have a habit of just switching your server off as they wish. This means you have no access to the server, websites or emails. Your customers will be on at you like you are costing them thousands. And in the meantime, they ignore you. “Abuse to clients”

Although being a German company, the service is bad. Pe In three days nobody has contacted to explain why the access to the webpage has been cancelled. The Spanish affiliate of strato is desperate, but they say that they cannot do anyting as the abuse service is located in Germany and they have a considerable delay in answering the complaints, which are constantly increasing. “Brilliant telephone support!”

I am useless at ICT but have had Strato run my website for several years. I have only used their telephone help line & the UK helpers have been amazing-very patient and helpful. I am hoping to revamp my site shortly and my ICT whizz helper says that Strato don't have good reviews and they don't have the most up to date Wordpress package- which is apparently a problem. “Worst interface and customer support”

I just ordered a virtual server for the period of a month with the intent of testing it's actual performance. 1. First I had problems just getting access to the server. I run a site for my friend effortlessly with Strato which she is thrilled with. It find the functionality very good and user interface easy. “The worst support I have come across”

As a developer I am used to using many different hosting providers and deal with support regularly. I won't go into detail about my dealings with Strato other than to say the word 'support' on their website must have been translated incorrectly and means something different to them than it does to the rest of the world. If you don't need customer support you will be happy with strato hosting. Problems: 1) Some pages are German language but you cannot translate directly by Google translate. Because these pages are protected (SSL). 2) When you try to ask something to customer support you need extra patience. Because they sending some responses but not answers. I used to think they were okay, apart from the support.

Back up everything, all databases the lot to your computer.

One day they will delete your server and bul lsh it you by saying you were attacking other websites (and then ignore you).

A joke company all round.

truly horrible customer service, canned responses, nobody seems to care. Our server was down due a powerfailure in the data center in Germany, that they did not care to inform their customers about. I received a canned reply to my email saying that the problem was fixed, even though our server was still down. 72 hours later, server down again, reply from them by phone "it is running" but clearly not reachable. “Rude staff, very very poor service, abuse of your...”

I tried strato as they seemed like a good company, but now I can honestly say avoid this company like the plague!!!!! I had a dedicated server which I set up fine and was running. They had a problem one day and the server was never connected to the Internet again even though they say it was. Anyway just to top it all off in the last month of me giving notice they charged my card 3 time on different dates throughout the month. I complained about this. “Strato is a nightmare”

After switching from Lycos, I was advised by Lycos to use Strato. It took 5 months to switch. Then it was yearly automatic annual renewal which they just took the annual fee without sending any invoices. Then this year they try to re-send invoices and saying my account had 2 year's fees outstanding. Unless they own up to this mistake, I am leaving Strato for good… Read Full Review
