“Will Not Refund Even With Receipts”

Written on: 29/12/2015 by KarlaColeman483 (1 review written)

I purchased the Silver Plan 3 months prior to going to Patagonia in November 2015. American Airlines cancelled due to 'pilot cut his finger'; so I was delayed a full day. I had to re-book plane tickets from Santiago to Punta Arenas and hire a driver to get me to my destination to start my trek. I received NO refund for these costs - only the $250 for "trip delay". This company is a rip off. Yes I provided the actual receipts as required, all airline boarding passes, etc. but that was all… Read Full Review

“Easy to buy, but terrible when you need to claim!”

Written on: 28/08/2014 by 84Dixon (1 review written)

I've had four or five annual policies from I&G. I went for the Platinum cover with Worldwide and Winter Sports included. The whole process of going online, comparing the packages and purchasing are very good, but the problems I encountered were as a result of needing to claim, which was complicated, not user friendly, time intensive and I&G simply not understanding the basics of my claim. 1. You phone them, get a claim reference and then fill in (by hand!) various claim documents. Seriously… Read Full Review

“Cheap but when you come to claim you'll know why!”

Written on: 11/11/2013

I bought an annual worldwide policy. I have never claimed in a travel insurance policy before! I went to Ibiza in August an unfortunatet one evening our apartment was broken into and my iPad and cash stolen. Had the police report and submitted te claim as instructed. I have still not hear anything back and the claim has not been paid which is now nearly 3 months. Very poor claims experience! Would touch them with a barge pole again!… Read Full Review

“cancer”

Written on: 09/10/2013 by mazdapete (1 review written)

I had taken out an annual european travel insurance for myself and my wife. Unfortunatley my wife was diagnosed with lung cancer, when informed Insureandgo they immedeatly canclelled the policy. It is within their terms and conditions so BEWARE. No way they would allow an exclusion which we would have been happy with. Buy with caution… Read Full Review

“What is the point????”

Written on: 30/08/2012

I have waited to write this review until my claim was settled and after reading the other reviews posted here I thought I would add my thoughts so any other poor unsuspecting person wouldn't fall prey to this company. Granted taking out the insurance with them is painless and dare I say easy, they even automatically renew your policy so you don't have to bother doing it yourself BUT after being with them for 4 years or so I had the misfortune of having to cancel a trip due to illness of one of… Read Full Review

“extra for natural disasters and civil unrest”

Written on: 29/08/2012

we took out their silver travel insurance assuming it would cover natural disasters ie tsnuamis, floods, etc and civil unrest ie riots, war etc but it doesnt unless you ask for it. We took out the quote but were never offered it and only when we received the booklet (still waiting for the hard copy) we spotted this. When we called they said sorry but thats an extra £16 on top of £90 already paid. So watch out they are not the best for cover by a long way, once you have read all the small… Read Full Review

“"You never made a claim.." - despite 11 e-mails ”

Written on: 04/08/2012

My husband had a ski-ing accident in France. When the accident happened, the girl I contacted and dealt with from the Claims department seemed quite efficient and the papework was dealt with in a timely fashion. There were no huge medical bills because I had my E111 to hand and this covered most of the Emergency medical care - it was just the rescue from the mountain and the ambulance bill to settle. After receiving my FIFTH red bill from the mountain rescue team this week , I decided to call… Read Full Review

“Deliberately become slow when it comes to making a claim ”

Written on: 19/03/2012 by MikeHoliday (1 review written)

You'd think that being a business that deals with insurance that the whole process should be easy and efficient. Well Insureandgo only seem to think that its worth putting the effort into the taking money part of the business and as soon as it come to doing what their business really is, paying out for claims they suddenly become the slowest most inefficient people ever. Almost all of the email correspondence was a generic reply saying my query was being dealt with, which wasn't helpful when… Read Full Review

“I purchased annual insurance with insure and go last...”

Written on: 27/08/2010

I purchased annual insurance with insure and go last year and, although did not need to claim nor speak to anyone was, impressed that they offered coverage for Asthma, something I always worry about when I am away with the change of climate. I thought the annual insurance was good value for money and DID reccomend them to friends.
This year while taking my only out of business trip and not using my own credit card coverage, I decided to go back to insure and go.My quote for both of us was… Read Full Review

“My experience with Insure & Go (actually the TCS...”

Written on: 13/04/2010

My experience with Insure & Go (actually the TCS claims staff who they contract our to) has been very positive. The portion of my claim dealt with by Insure & Go was settled promptly and politely. However, Insure & Go use EuropAssistance to deal with international medical expenses. As reviews of this company show, they are one to be avoided at all costs. Customer service is rude, confrontational and inefficient and they seem to be willing to try any excuse to avoid paying. Despite my claim… Read Full Review

“After reading reviews on the Review Centre website...”

Written on: 06/09/2006 by djferros (36 reviews written)

After reading reviews on the Review Centre website about Insure and Go Travel Insurance, I'm getting a bit worried about my claim.

I had pre-paid accommodation which messed up on me, so I had to spend a night in a rather expensive hotel. I have contacted this company twice by email, explaining everything, but I have yet to receive a reply.

I'm even more annoyed, as I have a Gold policy with the full bells and whistles for a year, so it cost quite a bit more than other policies… Read Full Review

After all that. Surprise surprise, I didn't get any compensation.
They said I wasn't covered. I know people will say it's my fault because I didn't read the paperwork but that was the reason I told them I wanted to be covered for everything, with their top policy.

Worse still is the amount of time they take to reply to tell you that you are not covered.

“I purchased a single trip cover for august 2004. ...”

Written on: 20/08/2004 by emmafaye (1 review written)

I purchased a single trip cover for august 2004. Insure and Go Travel Insurance charged £40.00 for the cover and £1.00 for postage and packing. To this day I still have not received my certificate in the post, despite writing to them and to Superdrug (the company advertising their insurance) and I have had no reply from either. I have a copy sent via email but I'm incensed at paying £1, (I know its only £1 but it's the principle) for a copy of everything to be sent by post and not getting it… Read Full Review

Paul Laird's Response to emmafaye's Review

Written on: 26/04/2005

I made a claim when I was delayed over 24 hours from New York to Edinburgh. I received £20 and was told I had only been delayed by 15 hours. This was clearly wrong and the information I gave was misread. When I tried to explain this to Insure I Go, I got no reply. This is no way to treat customers and I am really disappointed in this company.
