“Complete watse of my time”

Written on: 15/02/2017 by skullcandy123 (1 review written)

I contacted this company, I gave him very precise and clear details about the car we wanted and he came back to us fairly quickly with two quotes. After wasting much of my time and losing other opportunities from Main Dealers I was informed by Nationwide that they had quoted me on an 'older model' car and there systems had not been updated (blamed in IT)- clearly its easy to blame IT, but if as a business they fail to invest or have up do date data then they are providing inaccurate quotes and… Read Full Review

Thank you for your review and we are sorry to hear about your experience. As a family business, we try to ensure that all of our customers receive the same quality service. Having looked into your particular case, it does seem as though there has been a unfortunate element of mis-communication. On reflection, the quote you were provided was given in good faith by the salesperson, as advised by the data feed from the manufacturer. As this data had not been updated by the manufacturer, it became apparent that you were indeed given the wrong price. As soon as this mistake had been noticed, our sales team were quick to act by confirming the correct pricing for the vehicles that we found in stock, as per your request. Whilst we endeavour to provide all customers with correct and up to date prices, we are reliant on 3rd parties (i.e. the manufacturers who build and supply the vehicles we sell), so we will continue to invest in our infrastructure to prevent future disappointments

Thank you for your reply to my review comments.
Your sales people DID not act quickly - as it was left to me to contact you in order to get the correct information and speak to a very sheepish sounding salesperson tell me that 'the price we gave you was wrong'.
If I had not contacted you then we could have potentially lost out on other deals which we were discussing with main dealers.
The lesson here and my recommendation to any others considering using this service is to go back to their main dealer and get the quote Naitionwide gives you checked out. Better yet let them match or pay a little ore and buy from main dealer and get peace of mind.
Avoid this broker.

“None delivery of car”

Written on: 11/02/2014

Having ordered a car in August 2013, i then checked progress 12 weeks later to find that the wrong vehicle had been ordered by Natwionwide's supplier. To add insult, Nationwide now say that because there is a price increase by Skoda wef 1st Jan that i must now pay the higher price. So, 5 months from first ordering, I still have no prospect of a car being delivered. Be warned… Read Full Review

“Ordered a car 2nd of October after 14 week car not ordered”

Written on: 15/01/2014 by datona123456 (1 review written)

Ordered a BMW 520d se touring from an advisor at Nationwide cars on 2nd October 2013. After 7 weeks e-mailed them enquiring about the car. Received e-mail back the follow day saying the supplier said the order was at the factory car ready to be built. After another 7 weeks phoned him who told me the car had not been order. He said the supplier gave my allocation to someone else.Told me he could re-order the car but it would be another 12 weeks. Use these people at your peril. Better option… Read Full Review

same happened. I was told the wrong car had been ordered when i checked after 12 weeks and then they had the cheek of raising the price when they corrected their own mistake. Indeed, use at your peril and only if you don't mind not getting what you want.

“Bad Service, No Car!”

Written on: 01/10/2013 by carbuyer123 (1 review written)

I ordered a car from Nationwide Cars over two months ago with a delivery date of two weeks ago. I have been constantly having to chase them for an update and finally today after we are a fortnight over due delivery date I find out that the KIA Sportage is no longer available at the price I ordered at and in fact I cant get it at all. Hang on a minute... deposit paid, PX agreed and I am 8 weeks down the line only just hearing an elaborate and fabricated story that the manufacturer is to… Read Full Review

Peragrantes's Response to carbuyer123's Review

This is the kind of review I'd like to see Nationwide Cars respond to in order to demonstrate a serious commitment to customer service. You don't try to bury a bad review by soliciting favourable ones from other, considerably older customers (see davidandsue2btinternetcom above).

I cant see the review from davidandsue2btinternetcom now but did manage to see it yesterday, I think it may have been deleted. It is very dubious that a company solicit for a review. This merely reinforces why not to use them! I remain firm that this was the worst experience I have had buying a car and three differing versions of why the order is not fulfilled. I would discourage anyone to buy from them who asks me my opinion. Well made point Peragrantes!

“Damage to new car”

Written on: 01/01/2013

When taking delivery of the car, i carried out a visual inspection of the car (in the Rain) i found a support bolt on the right hand side wheel arch that holds the wheel arch trim on. which i pointed out to the delivery driver and informed him i would get a replacement from the Nissan dealer. After a week of driving the Vehicle i noticed that the trim and the bumper on the front drivers side dropping away, subsequently when taking the car to the Nottingham dealer i was informed by there… Read Full Review

In response to this review I can confirm that at the time of the handover of the vehicle the customer signed the Delivery Handover sheet which confirmed that the vehicle was received in perfect working order and NO damage or comment was recored on the Handover Sheet when the vehicle was signed for and dated.

It was some 2/3 weeks after delivery that the customer contacted Nationwide Cars to say that a bracket which was connected the front wing had been damaged.

Immediately Nationwide Cars contacted the supplying dealer to inform them of the damage.

The supplying dealer confirmed that they had not damaged the vehicle and it had gone through a Pre Delivery Check and NO damage was reported prior to handover to the customer, they also contacted Nissan to inquire if the vehicle had been damaged and repaired in transit.

Nissan also confirmed back that the vehicle had left the factory and had not been damaged and delivered to the supplying dealer in perfect factory condition.

In conclusion both the supplying dealer and the manufacturer could only assume that as they had not damaged and repaired the vehicle prior to handover and the fact that the customer did not make any written comment on the Handover Sheet and signed to confirm that the vehicle was handed over in perfect working order that the vehicle must have been damaged with or without the customers awareness after they had taken delivery of the vehicle.

Whilst Nationwide had spent a considerable amount of time liaising between the supplying dealer and the customer

As a result of Nationwide Cars influance with the supplying dealer and as a gesture of goodwill the supplying dealer agreed to pay for the cost for the damaged brackect to be replaced more that this Nationwide Cars was powerless to change the outcome of the situation as both the dealer and manufacturer had confirmed that the vehicle had not been damaged and repaired by them together with the fact that it was some 2/3 weeks after the handover of the vehicle did the customer report any problem.

I cannot comment on the individual circumstances of this situation BUT my only worry though as a consumer with no mechanical or professional knowledge of cars is that I many not spot a problem such as a bracket needing to be repaired or a car being repainted -that is likely to be picked up by professionals at the dealership. Are you suggesting therefore that customers should get their car delivered into the hands of a mechanic/dealership so they can check that there has been no damage not spotted by the checkers or in transit? I personally would not know unless it was obvious. I probably therefore would not notice till sometime after when it might become more obvious or when a mechanic comments or informs me.

“Very poor aftercare”

Written on: 02/12/2012 by AEBURNS1970 (1 review written)

Great upfront but spent 16 weeks of trying to get the V5C documents 6 months afer they were agreed to be released. Was given the run around with blatent lies and ended up having to complete a V62 to get the vechicle registration documents. Had too pay £25.00 for this. Very poor communication and extemely disgruntled customer. Would not recomend. Something does not add up with this company. BEWARE PEOPLE!… Read Full Review

After writing this i was contacted by Ian Whitecross who was hugely apologectic and explained the reasons for the delay in great deal. After listening to this i had a full understanding of the delay issues and that in fact the delay was nothing to do with Nationwide. Ian on the same day is sent a cheque for £25.00 for the payment on the V62. It was a really nice touch for Ian to contact me direct and make the effort and after explaining the issues he has now re-intalled my faith and confidance in Nationwide Cars.

“No car after a nine month wait”

Written on: 08/08/2011

After ordering a car in Dec 10 and waiting eight months I was told the car was at the dealers. One month later I am told the car is not available. Whoever was at fault, I the customer, did not receive what was ordered. I constantly had to call for an update to be continually told everything was OK. Eventually told that problems of delivery went as far back as January. Got my deposit back but this does not compensate for a lack of a car. No other compensation forthcoming. Certainly would not… Read Full Review

Ok where do I start with this. We placed an order with nationwide cars back in June 2010 paid the deposit of £350, we were told the car would be ready sometime in august. In august we recieved a call saying the car had arrived and arranged delivery for 1st Sept. 1st sept came and went and no car arrived after many phone calls and emails later turns out the finance had not being sorted at all and none of the optional extras we ordered and paid for were actually fitted to the car. Written on: 05/12/2008 by wacko1983 (1 review written)

Whilst the staff at Nationwide cars are always polite, there is no point ordering a car from this company if you ever want one to actually arrive. I am amazed that with this type of service they are still in business.
I have been car less since August and decided that the deals on Nationwide cars were so good that I would order a new car. I paid my £350 deposit and was told to expect a call in 10-12 weeks ready for delivery.
10 weeks later I had heard nothing so I contacted the company to… Read Full Review

This gentleman's vehicle was finally delivered on the 24th September 2008. unfortunately the delay on the vehicle was beyond our control and was caused by the manufacturer themselves. He had promised to update the review upon receipt of his new vehicle but as yet seems not to have done so.

Written on: 10/03/2008 by craigynewts (1 review written)

Some of the bad points listed will be the same no matter which on line agent you go with. I ordered a Ford Mondeo which had supply problems across the industry. This, and the low part ex. valuations I can except as this was an inconvenience I was willing to chance due to the price I was paying. However, 1. although nothing is guaranteed, buyers should be aware that delivery dates can be as long as mine. At the time of ordering (July 07) we were expecting a new born in 4 months. Consequently I… Read Full Review
