“The extra mile”

Night Fright had the responsibility of delivery a groupon purchase to us, it was a King size Bed and mattress. Delivery was marked down for 7 to 10 days. So we were surprised when 2 of the three parcels turned up with in 5 days. The third parcel , the mattress was running late. The driver said he would chase it up for us.Today he turned up with the mattress... Now the delivery guy new from the week before that I was suffering with a ripped calf muscle and unable to move anything... So when I asked him for a huge favour, even though I knew he shouldn't do it, to help get the mattress upstairs for me, he obliged and went the extra mile. An absolute credit to you nightfreight.... I would have had to wait until the weekend for someone to help me shift it.... instead we will be sleeping well tonight. Thank you

“how not to treat a 7 month pregnant mum to be”

so how can 2 men turn up and see my daughter in law is pregnant and refuse to take the stuff up the stairs! newly decorated house waiting for new arrival and they thought it was ok to trample over the garden and then go up cream carpet ?? not even sure they would have anyway . Motercare need to look elsewhere for a courier, which I will be going in to tell them! spent a fortune on furniture , service diabolic , worse I've seen in 52 years! and because of their service won't order from motercare ever again!!

“Polar opposite experience for me versus other reviewers”

I thought I'd post a review of my experience as it is polar opposite of those posted here. Purchased heavy consignment of carpet from a Welsh retailer using nightfreight. 3-5 days delivery. End of day 1 retail order page indicated goods had been shipped. I contacted local nightfreight office (Earls Barton Office), as advised. Goods had not arrived at that time and I was asked to make contact the following day after 8.30am. Called at 8.30 day 2. Advisor noted goods had come in overnight and asked if I wanted delivery today or tomorrow. I said today. He acknowledged and said they would be with me after 1pm. 3pm van arrived. Throughout my experience the team at nightfreight have been helpful, courteous, friendly and professional. If I have any criticism it is that their website is very basic and not intuitive. My order number was one which says 'please call' for information. They need to invest in developing this area of their business. However for £15 charged, 4 huge rolls of carpet and a parcel of gripper rods, two days and a friendly and helpful driver - fantastic value for money.

“Hit and run”

“Awful!”

This company has to be one of the worst i have had the misfortune of dealing with. No sign of my delivery which was supposed to be on a 3 day service. I returned home from work on day 5 to find a scruffy ripped note through my door to say that they had attempted delivery earlier in the day with a number to call on the back of the card to rearrange delivery which i promptly called back. The first 5 times of dialling i was automatically cut off and the next couple on actually getting a line nobody picked up. I think eventually on about attempt number 8 i managed to make contact with the Northampton depot who advised that the package would be put out for redelivery the following day. I waited in on my day off all the following day to find nobodying turned up completely wasting my day. Again another 10 or so calls to the number left on the card with no answer. My husband was furious on returning from work and after scouring the internet calling various numbers and being put on hold eventually got through to somebody who said that the parcel would now be out the next day. No apology and when questioned about the lack of response at the depotnumber provided on the card was told oh we can never get hold of anybody on that number either!!! How a company can operate so badly i will never know. Completely avoid.

“Worst experiance I have ever had.”

I called the office from a scrap of paper I was left from being at work on Tuesday. I rearranged a delivery for Friday Morning which i had to take the day off for. This didn't arrive. Called again and got told they would redeliver on Saturday morning. Still didn't arrive. Spoke to the operations manager Today. He told me my item it was out for delivery today and would call me back in 5 mins to give me a time. 1 hour past, I called him and he told me the driver was having his lunch and it would be with me before 2pm. Called back at 4pm after having to rearrange all my appointments today. Got told the driver only picked my item up at 3pm, and is on his way I'm the first delivery on the list. The depo is 16 mins away from my house, its now 2hrs and a half later and still nobody has turned up. I will never ever use this company again or any DX service, and they couldn't even confirm a proper complaints process.

“The worst at best!”

I made a DIY purchase - namely laminate flooring x 7 packs of - nice and simple one might say - read on... id thought the retailer was delivering but either way just wanted my purchase, I ordered on the 16th may for delivery on the 21st - it came at 18.20pm, half the order was not even the retail packing and taped with parcel tape and subsequently was damaged. The driver did not even have any sort of carry equipment or a trucks trolley so was all over the place. I wanted this to lay over the last may B/Holiday - that went out the window. Phoned the retailer who spent ages dealing with getting me a new order and slot which in the end was the following week. Obviously by now I was aware who was delivering so got the phone number with the remit of checking on the day that it was still being delivered - I was told it was - I waited, and waited, so I called back - I was told it was put on the van and taken off again - the couriers had left so was advised and assured that it would be out for delivery when they returned - at this point I wondered whether it was damaged or why it was taken off the van? - I was assured it was fine and would be sent - it was taken off by "mistake". I was also advised that I would be called when it was back out for delivery at @4pm. At 17.50pm I called again - no delivery - the phone was picked up and hung up straight away - 4 times this happened - the fifth try it was answered by the same girl I had spoken to throughout the day - she said they shut at 6pm and certainly did not want to speak to anyone and during the call you could hear her packing away and "clearly couldn't give a damn my dear" - I asked where my delivery was - she said it did not go out as it was damaged - I said to her- "i asked you earlier" and it was all fine - she said she was going to ring - yeah right at nearly 6pm - total BS!! ,this day was taken off especially so money was lost being lied to and dicked about all day - she said do I still want it What? its damaged!! in total 4 of the 7 packs had not been handled properly so in total that's x2 consignments damaged, lies on the phone just to fob you off, and a days coin wasted - if I could not leave a star at all I would, the girl who I dealt with all day caused most of the hassle - as if she had told the truth in the beginning about the damage then at least I would not have to have waited around for sweet FA. Summary - incompetent, unreliable, the language is BS, do your homework, look online - this is not isolated with this so called set-up and in this climate, even though there recent expansion makes them a large company - they wont last long. Life is not perfect - I know that - mistakes happen, but these are not mistakes. AVOID AT ALL COSTS IF YOU CAN - IF YOU CANT GET SOME VALIUM FROM THE DOCTORS JUST IN CASE!!!!!

“Avoid like the plague, they are useless”

I am waiting for a delivery from Rainbow Nightfreight. It was due on the 15th (yesterday). This morning after calling the suppliers I was told that the delivery company would call me with an ETA. They have not. I am now told by the suppliers that the delivery should be between 4-6 pm. Useless. Do not deliver on day they say they will. Do not call you as they say they will. Cannot be contacted direct. Cannot track anything online. This has got to be the worst delivery service in the UK, even ParcelFarce are better! Like to give them no stars, but I can't do that......

well as a driver at night freight can i pls say if you pack your parcels properly and put the right packaging in side that will help. are we are a bulk delivery company so we deal with pallets and very heavy we do are best to deliver your parcel in a good state but people dont realize it go on two lorry and and sorted at the hub before the driver get your parcel so dont blame the drivers coz if it could get them a bit beaten up or broken

“This is a perfect example of how a courier company...”

I read all the poor reviews (and 90% of them are bad) but I thought I would give them a try as they were so much cheaper than the competition. I was sending four large boxes at a cost of £25 per box so there was still a lot of money involved. I booked via Parcel Monkey which you need to do if you don’t have an account with DX Freight (is anyone stupid enough to actually open an account with this company?). The first problem was when the driver arrived to collect the four boxes and only had paperwork for three of them so he refused to take the fourth package and left. After I spent 40 minutes on the phone to the DX customer service line they finally got hold of the driver and told him to accept the package. But then the driver refused to return even though he was still only five miles away from us so it was then up to me to haul the huge box into the back of my car and track down the driver to give him the package which I thankfully did. After this very rocky start I prepared myself for the worst! At the end of the following day I received emails from two very unhappy customers who had taken the day off work to wait in for their items and guess what.... nothing had arrived! The following morning I spent a further 45 minutes on the phone to DX customer services and was advised that two of the four packages had both independently been misrouted to the wrong depots and where back out for delivery that day. So, out of four packages only two arrived on time. In addition I spent over an hour on the phone and had to take time out of my day to transport one of the package part of the journey myself. The moral of the story, and as the VW Golf advert says, "You get what you pay for in life!" What DX Freight didn’t realise is that I own four mail order companies with a combined annual turnover in excess of £2m, guess who won’t be getting any more business from me!

“Absolutely awful”

Had to rearrange delivery 4 times and item has still not been received since the original order was placed in December 2013! Staff are rude and unhelpful and I have to phone at least 12 times before speaking to someone, in the first place!! Cannot believe a company can be so awful! Avoid completely! Will never use again!

“Still not delivered.....”

I placed an order via ParcelMonkey, they outsourced to NightFreight/DX Freight. I paid for a next day service, however, the items were not collected the next day, when they did turn up the day after, my wife asked the driver why and he said it was because he didn't have anything else in the areas, so didn't bother driving over. He was also very rude. After the items were collected, I expected delivery the next day, this didn't happen, and my customers are still awaiting delivery. Happy to take your money for a next day service, but are unable to deliver as promised. I have phoned the company several times and in all have spend over 1.5 hours on hold. I have also sent details of my service to the email address on the website, I did get a response from a them, but when trying to email him back further details I get... "An error occurred while trying to deliver this message to the recipient's e-mail address. Microsoft Exchange will not try to redeliver this message for you." Great... thanks NightFreight....

“Very poor, dishonest service”

Drivers lie that they have attempted delivery and left a card, not once but several times. force you to wait in for days, tell you that they will deliver tomorrow on phone and then don't no apology no attempt to help you, awful awful company avoid using them at all costs. “Broken items, rude driver. ”

Today, Nightfreight delivered 15 packs of floor tiles on behalf of B & Q to my home address. The driver was not friendly at all, I asked if he was going to bring the delivery inside, he said no, which was fair enough. Once he had placed them on the drive I said I wanted to check the product before signing. He seemed very put out by this. I opened the pallet and noticed that 6/15 boxes were broken. I asked him what I needed to do and he said 'it's not my problem and I'm not putting them back on the lorry as you've opened them'. I had removed the plastic wrap the pallet came with as I had to to be able to check the items- there was no other way around it. He was then very rude when I asked for his company's name and contact details- despite me telling him that I wasn't blaming him, but as a customer I needed to know so that I could ensure that I wasn't liable for a broken product that I had paid for. He was then really rude and I told him as much- he told me I had a 'stinking attitude' and that I was being grumpy because he wouldn't take the delivery inside for me. No, dear delivery driver, I'm not 'grumpy', I'm frustrated because the product you delivered is broken and you're being unhelpful. He then demanded to know again why I thought he was rude, and in the end I had to ask him to leave my property. Terrible! Luckily B & Q we're very helpful, can't fault their customer service at all.

“UNRELIABLE ”

Never turned up to collect parcel on two different occasions,I have wasted two days waiting in for them and have had no apologises and no explanation from them. When you try to ring them you get no answer. I would never use them again and I am now waiting for a refund. Will use the post office in future.

Book a delivery through parcel monkey - the price was almost half of that anywhere else. Parcel monkey are not very efficient cannot be contacted by phone and take at least overnight to answer email queries. But night freight after picking up my parcel a day late really could not do enough for me. They communicated well and delivered my parcel in less than 24 hours after pick up from across the uk. They responded quickly to my email questions and were extremely helpful.

I booked a collection of a very large metal box to be delivered from Cornwall to Herefordshire through Parcelmonkey - The quote from Parcelmonkey was very good (I had tried some other shipping solutions such as Shiply, which were way out). Before I booked the collection, I double checked what packing would be needed by contacting Nightfreight directly, and I was happy to receive a very quick reply from 2 different people at Nightfeight. Then I found this website(!) and Trustpilot which carries what seems to be all the bad feedback, and little of the good.. I presume only bad news only ever makes it to the web reviews, so I felt it necessary to advise that my experience was hassle free and the item was delivered the next working day. So I guess communication and correct product dimensions/weight/packing go a long way to helping things run smoothly.
