I used Myjobquote to find a company to simply clear my gutters. I placed a request and received a phone call from someone stating he could come round, give a quote and do the job the same day. When you think of a professional gutter cleaning company, you would think they would arrive in a marked van and have a professional gutter vacuum (and even a drone as some do so they can show house holders the state of the gutters). What arrived was a bunch of dodgy looking blokes in a clapped out car who looked as if they had just been released from prison.

I was quoted just under £100 and this is what I paid for;

1) They went up ladders (obviously) and used BARE hands to put debris in a carrier bag, this was a half hour job at most.

2) When I asked for a business card, they had 'just run out' which I don't believe

3) When I asked where they worked from, the main guy was evasive and would not say

4) They dumped the carrier bag in my bin, a professional would have taken the rubbish away

5) I later found that they dumped a carrier bag of their own rubbish from their car in my bin

6) I had no receipt when I paid them

7) I checked their work the next day and the gutters still had tons of silt inside though the leaves had been removed.

8) The chap told me he had to charge me extra to cover Myjobquote charging HIM for the lead, this was approx £30 apparently.

In light of the above experience, I found that the company Myjobquote recommended were sub-par and at best, dodgy who work somewhere in the Midlands. I absolutely do NOT recommend Myjobquote, read the above and you can see why. Instead, look for reputable companies who vacuum and clean gutters properly. I would have been happy to pay more for professionalism and not for a job I should have done myself. I took their registration as they looked that dodgy and I could not find the company on the official .gov companies site. More fool me for choosing Myjobquote and I recommend you use Trustatrader or similar instead.
