Had The Scooter For Some Weeks Now And No Problems
Had the scooter for some weeks now and no problems at all. Got a new tyre and painted it and it runs like a dream first time every time. Handles well once you ' re used to it but the seat is a little bit too small for 2 people although I am quite big. Unfortunately selling the scoot now as we are expecting a baby but I would highly recommend this ped (just watch out for tuned ones). I am aware that these can be converted to 172cc quite easily and sure it would be great fun to do but be aware if you do this on a provisional licence you are breaking the law and therefore uninsured. I have seen advertisements boasting top speeds of 100mph+ however I would not recommend this as the machine is very light and you can be blown about in high winds.

This Is A First Impression As I Only Bought The Pi
This is a first impression as I only bought the Piaggio Typhoon 125 yesterday. I have a Bandit 600 myself and this is for me and the wife to potter about on. It ' s a 2002 piaggio typhoon xr. The bodywork is in pretty poor condition but I am going to attempt to re spray this. I picked it up and rode it 40ish miles home on the motorway with no problems at all I managed to squeeze 7 quid in before this trip. My previous scooter was a piaggio skipper 125 4 stroke and they are completely different machines the typhoons steering feels twitch although it does need a new front tyre but other than that no problems and it ' s probably just because I am not used to the size.
I don ' t think mine is derestricted so acceleration isn ' t as amazing as some other may boast but still a hell of a lot faster than the skipper. Storage under seat is fine for your helmet although not much more and top speed on mine is 70 mph compared to 60 on the skipper.
It started on a very cold and wet morning this morning first push and you have peace of mind because it has got a kick start incase battery fails. All in all I like the Typhoon but the only reason I got rid of the skipper is because my wife couldn ' t get it off the stand. Only time will tell if the scooter is reliable.
Tyres are 45 quid fitted. Brake pads about 10 quid from eBay.
