Since I Bought This Bike, Not A Year Ago Yet.
Since I bought this bike, not a year ago yet.
The exhaust has shattered twice.
The variator has shattered once at 105 kph, nearly launching me over the handlebars, fist sized pieces of metal jammed in the clutch.
The bike has been off the road going on to two weeks, and the local dealer will not even ring me.
Buy a Daelim s250 or a Kymco Hawk, which are both about the same price but 25 kph faster, because this bike is a lemon.

belts need replacing every 10000 klms and cost $120 if you do it, $350 if the mechanic does it. Paper filters cost $26 every 6000 klm
Buy a kymco hawk and do 130 on the flat or better speed in the hills.
I don't understand alex9269's statements about rpm and speed. If he is getting 115 kph out of his scooter then I think it must be running at well over 6000 rpm, probably at least 8000. This model doesn't seem to have a tachometer, judging from the images on the Bolwell website. Power at the rear wheel is always less than at the flywheel, where the makers claim 14.5 bhp. If alex is getting 12 bhp at the rear wheel then this seems about right, not drastically low anyway.
The screen looks higher than the (standard) Daelim S2 screen and has a edge trim too, which would reduce vibration. Not too bad for what is essentially a comuter machine with a little extra go.

I forgot to mention the windscreen, I am not as small as a taiwanese and the top of the windscreen directs the air at my ears.
The constant roaring is bad and Daelim offers a larger screen for their scooters, why not Bolwell??
I still love the bike and 0 to 50+ kph in 3 seconds is very nice.
Some people say to ignore the 40 litre boot space but it is an important part of the conveniance as is the electric boot opener (no light) and very comfy seat. At 52 I want comfort and conveniance. all my road clothes go into it and I walk away without a rucksack and ready for socializing. petrol is working out at 26 kpl but its $1.50 / litre here and everything is 110 kph (i do 115, naughty boy)
