AA Driving

I just passed my driving test and I couldn’t have done it without the incredible support of my instructor. From the very first lesson, he was patient, encouraging, and highly knowledgeable. He explained everything clearly and made sure I was confident in every aspect of driving. I wouldn’t have been able to pass my driving test without his continuous support! I highly recommend him to anyone learning to drive! He’s a great instructor!

Amazing Driving Instructor

She is a wonderful driving instructor. Finding the right instructor hasn’t been easy for me, but learned more in that one session than I had in ten with others. She puts her whole heart into teaching, genuinely cares about her students, and pays close attention to my progress, strengths, and areas that need improvement. Her lessons are always clear, well-structured, and I’ve never once felt my time was wasted. I’m so grateful to have found her, and I couldn’t recommend her more highly.

I loved my time with the AADS

All the instructors are absolutely amazing, I was doing my lessons for longer than a lot of others due to the DVLA waiting times but it was so much easier with an instructor that went at my pace, ecen 6 months in when there wasn’t much to learn left for the test she would find something to teach me or talk about. The AA themselves have some issues with them and the instructors but my experience was definitely one to remember.

Colin Beesley

I have to say a MASSIVE thank you to Colin! I passed my test first time and I couldn't of done it without him. He was always calm and patient with me and didn't mind at all when I repeated questions to him. Its so important to find the right instructor and I sure found this in Colin. He made me laugh, was easy to talk to and was great in the way he instructed me and gave me guidance over these last few months. I will be forever grateful to Colin for helping me pass my test and I hope to do him proud and put everything he has taught me into my new driving era. So, if youre in the Cardiff/Barry area and looking for a new instructor, then Colin is your man! Thanks for everything!

Absolutely Amazing Teacher

Thought I’d made a review months ago but didn’t seem to have gotten posted, buthe was an incredible driving tutor to learn under, after struggling to find someone I was comfortable with. Was clear and effective in honing in on my weaker points and increasing my confidence in places I needed it most. 100% recommended for any new or experienced learners looking for a positive-attitude tutor.

Went above and beyond, 5 stars to my instructor

It is only thanks to my instructor that I can drive today! I cannot recommend her as a driving instructor highly enough!

From my very first lesson, it was clear that I’d found a driving instructor that I can fully trust and rely on. She has a confident but calm and reassuring manner. No matter how many questions I asked - or how many mistakes I made - she was always patient and supportive that helped build my confidence as a driver. She carefully broke down each concept, provided clear explanations and practical tips that instantly made tricky manoeuvres feel manageable. She also supplemented our driving lessons by sharing links to online resources which I watched at home and could then discuss any unclear points during the lesson.

Equally outstanding is his personalised approach. Every lesson was tailored to my needs and abilities: if I needed extra practice on roundabouts, that’s what we did; if I grasped a topic quickly, we moved on to build momentum. This flexible, student-centred approach not only accelerated my progress but also made each lesson truly enjoyable and stress-free.

I also greatly appreciate it that she didn’t just teach me the skills necessary to pass the driving test in Morden, but also shared numerous practical tips and taught me some additional maneuvers that are so useful for driving on busy London roads.

If you’re looking for an instructor who is patient, highly knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to your success, look no further than her. Learning to drive can be daunting, but with her it becomes an enjoyable and empowering experience.

One last point to note, lessons with her are in high demand so my advice is to book your preferred days and time slots as much in advance as you can.

Amazing instructor

He is very patient, always polite, has good sense of humour, adapts to students approach and ways of learning and finds the way to motivate students.

All learning experience was very positive. Even in some stressful situations he always knows what to say to keep me calm and focused.

Definitely could not ask for better instructor.

Even if I was nervous during the test I pass from the first time! And thats a massive Thank you!

I would recommend him to anyone, especially if you struggling or had not great past experience with driving instructors, he is the person who will definitely help you to learn and keep calm and focused reaching your goal.

Very grateful.

Great instructor

My instructor was great. She was able to schedule lessons around my work hours, and tailored lessons to my weak points. I passed my test on the first try.

The AA system could be better - there was a £3 fee every time I topped up my account, which I had to do multiple times.

Q&A

Zalfonso

I am not happy with my instructor and would like to change it. Do you know a good AA instructor in South Ealing/Brentford?

1
Mama_Cuddles

If you check the website or phone them they will tell you who your nearest instructors are. You can book lessons online too and you will be offered a choice of time slots.

I'm considering taking up a franchise as an AA driving instructor. Reading through this thread there are a multitude of similar bad experiences, primarily relating to the conduct of the instructors'

I've also noticed that on a majority of these posts the AA have replied with comments which indicates to me a desire from them to improve and listen.

My question as a prospective 'Franchisee' is this:

Would you as a parent or student choose the AA Driving School as a preferred provider based on their reputation and how much would the ratings in this thread influence your decision to use them?

There are several companies out there that offer a franchise solution; RED being another popular one. I'd be interested to get some feedback on this so I could at least feel that I would be choosing the right organisation to train with.

At this point in time I'm inclined to choose the AA purely based on its long standing reputation and that any other schools (including RED) are likely to have both good and bad instructors too.

I would choose AA over Red. AA are far superior but Red are the most complained about and worst for customer service and quality. This is my personal experience of both.

Any tips about test centres between Cannock and Wednesbury? Which one is best place to take my test?
