Going Back To Try Afain

The instructor I had was great done a 42 hour course , my instructor felt I wasn't ready for the test which I could not argue with , but I think I will book another course in a couple of weeks time and give it another go . The overall experience was good , considering I had never sat behind a steering wheel until the first day of the course I learnt a lot in the week, in hindsight I might of done a few lessons before going for the intensive course but that's just me . The accommodation was cheap and the couple that run it where very friendly . I would recommend anyone to do this course as long as they understand that there is no garrantee that you will pass at the end of it . However I imagine you would not be far off the required standard after doing the course I done

Passing With Ease

To whom it may concern,

It was a wonderful experience to learn in a one-to-one environment, but what made it special was a perfect driving instructor, a great stay at the hotel and to top it all off, a fantastic group of new friends to enjoy it all with.

I can honestly say that I strongly recommend this course to anyone regardless of their ability, they shall pass with learndrive.co.uk

Kind regards

Absolutely Brilliant Course Thoroughly Recommend

I had a brilliant experience with learn drive from the hotel to the driving. Hotel was brilliant and felt so relaxed, the food was superb too. My instructor was amazing, so understanding and patient. I did a 30 hour shared tuition in the automatic, i have driven a manual car before probably about 15 hours and more than 3 years ago since i last drove. I was told on the second day i would be taking my test in Kendal and not Blackpool and might not have time to go on the route, but to be honest if your comfortable and confident driving it shouldn't matter where your test is taken. I would really recommend this course as it was value for money and very pleasant experience. I cant find anything negative to say about it. If you go with the right frame of mind and willing to listen and learn you should do great. good luck to anyone undertaking this anytime in the future.

Rip Off

A word of advice to anyone considering this company for a course. Make sure that you have an agreed time and date for your theory and driving test as they can spring it on you last minute! Causing stress you don't need. Also check price as it was dearer than advertised. Hidden admin charges. If you fail your theory test there is virtually no chance of getting another one in the time you are in Blackpool so it can be a total waste of time and money!! As much as they say they will try and get you another date to make you stay they can't. Please look into the pros and cons before you even pay the deposit. We have just wasted the best part of £500.00 and only had 2days driving tuition... Be wary!!!

The driving school make it very clear that they strongly recommend theory test is passed before coming, if you do want to risk taking it whilst on the course they clearly point out the risks involved; if you fail the theory you legally have to wait 3 CLEAR days before you can take another and the waiting time for theory test can be 1-2 weeks anyway, so they advise it is extremely unlikely (even on a 7 day course) if at all possible that you will have more than one shot at theory test . The practical driving test cannot be booked until theory is passed. No hidden fees - its quite clear the theory test of £25 is on top and there is not even a booking fee for this!

I Passed With Learndrive!!!

It was so easy, my instructor made me feel at ease and gave me clear and precise instruction, by the time I came to do my test I was full of confidence, I passed easily with just a couple of minors, I would certainly recommend learndrive to friends and family. Thank you to everyone at learndrive

Beware!

I took a 5 day course some months ago. The reason it has took me so long to post this review is because my experience was so bad it took months before I was confident enough to book a driving lesson. After a couple of weeks my new instructor asked me why I was so nervous and I began to discuss my LearnDrive experience. My instructor was horrified which encouraged me to share my experience with other drivers and learners who urged me to post a review to warn others.

My instructor was very poor. I was a novice and very scared of driving when I started the week. My instructors method of "teaching" was raising his voice when I made a mistake, sighing dismissively at my questions and cutting off any explanations or statements I attempted to make by telling me he didn't ask my opinion. I could understand (maybe) his attitude if I was cocky and needed taking down a peg or two but I was a nervous wreck and my nerves only increased throughout the week. Twice I ended our day early because I was simply too stressed and upset to continue. Both times my instructor told me he didn't care as long as I signed his time sheet saying I had a full session. He discussed his previously pupils in incredibly negative terms, all of these stories ended with him gleefully telling me that they failed their test.

I could go further discussing his complete lack of professionalism but I wont, hopefully you get the idea.

You are probably wondering why I put up with this. Well there were a few reasons

1- There was no information about how to request a change.

2- My instructor told me he was the only one available that week.

3- I had booked a week off work and couldn't afford another.

4- I was alone at the hotel and so had nobody to discuss the situation with. I would say that a residential course is probably not a great idea for a nervous driver.

5- I had no frame of reference to understand just how bad my instructor was, simply put I thought it was normal.

I was still hesitant to post such a negative review as some of the other instructors have pretty good reviews associated with them. However it's a lottery and if you 'lose' you end up stuck and unable to decide whether to give up and stick it out.

It's difficult for me to judge just how well I would have done with a better instructor. My Learn Drive experience was so poor it's still negatively impacting on my driving now. My instructor has told me that my confidence is my only barrier (but I suppose they would say that lol).

Dont Use Them - Save Your Time And Money

This experience was a total waste of time and money. Be sure to confirm with the school that your test is actaully in Blackpool and not in the next town or you will have to drive 2 hours on the day of your test nervous and tired to your test centre and end up failing like i did. they dont give you enough infomation and claim to have it all in the terms and conditions.and you dont get the opportunity to even use up all the hours youve booked. DONT USE THEM,THEY RIP YOU OFF!!

Waste Of Money And Time!!! Dont Be Decived

I booked the two days training with two other friends, we were told we were going to have 5 hours each of training. This was fine as long as it was going to be a pass at the end of the day.

On getting to the hotel, we were met by the couple who runs the place, truth be told the place was neat and the couple where really friendly, food was great too but we were not there to eat food and make friends.

On the second day(training day) we were shown our instructor {Brian ). We got into the car and he explained what the day was going to look like, I guess the instructor was only doing his job but he was very rude all through the training, made comments all through and no word of encouragement, kept on letting us know we were going to fail. I wasn’t too bothered by this because my former instructor was more hard core than hi,. On getting back to the hotel, we met a guy who was taking the test for the second time, he confirmed to us that our instructor was a very mouthy and rude person and even called him a monkey on his previous training with him, he also told us how his partner which he shared the lesson with passed and the instructor was not happy he actually said ‘these examiner need review’ and did not even bother congratulating the lady or saying well done instead he wanted a picture for Facebook.

On the day of the test, we drove 2.30 hours to get to our test centre in Kendel. I was shocked and nervous because I was in the knowledge that you have to go through your test routes to familiarise your self with the roads, the place was a country side full with hills and you had go on very high speed, I thought this was being unfair and unreasonable, how on earth did they expect us to be comfortable with this?

Anyways we all failed, and I do not blame the school or instructor for this but honestly the instructor could be more helpful and I feel they were very misleading because on the website if felt like it was a sure pass when the truth is that it is not and remember the guy we met there who was there previously? He failed again. So explain to me how exactly this works, this guy drives in London illegally so how can he fail twice over there?

That been said, I thought it was a total waste of time because there was no much input or specials from this school we were getting less than what we would have gotten if we had stayed at home and done it the normal way. But if you insist to go ahead with them get your facts right, make sure you know where you doing the test and how many hours exactly you getting , like I said this place was nothing special you could do better at home.

Think before you waste your money and time

Anyone reading this review can surely understand why there is always going to be a pupil who puts on a poor review - even among all the great reviews!

Whichever driving school you choose to book with its not a "sure pass" and whats with the ridiculous comment " this guy drives in London illegally so how can he fail ?"

Please be sensible - if you want a quick test and book a SUITABLE course, these intensive courses are a great quick way to learn to drive, but if you cannot drive and think a few hours behind the wheel with any driving school is a sure pass then you only have yourself to blame!

Q&A

Barzman

How did you find the shared course, better than 1-2-1?

swelly

The shared course offers the very best value for money, so it is probably better to do a longer course on a shared basis than a 1 to 1 course.

Having said that it is also down to personal choice and time off work etc, but in my opinion shared is best option eg 4 day shared rather than say a 2 day one to one.

For any questions or to discuss options is best to call and speak to the office; they often have an approved instructor in office to discuss specific details and give advice etc.
