If You Plan On Using A Vw Van Constantly, Living I
If you plan on using a VW van constantly, living in it and driving it all through the mountains for years. hahaha good luck. If you want to drive it 10 miles to the beach and jive on the hippy mystique of it. that will probably work.
Keep in mind that the people who usually own these things will never say anything bad about them. I've owned a couple. I've ridden in at least 50. I have been stuck in them about 5 times across the country all the while the owners swearing by them. You better know how to fix them or have a bunch of money when hitting the road, at least enough for a water pump. The poor little pump has to circulate water from the very front to the very back. They seem to give up often.
The price of westy's has gone up through the roof. If you're not committed to ownership by any means, you'll be miserable.

It Is Reliable Sturdy And Loads Of Storage Room. M
It is reliable sturdy and loads of storage room. My first van was a Westfalia and I would not go for anything else. Smashing product and the engine was as clean as a whistle even after 15 years.
The fact that the gas tank was an integral part of the van was brilliant.

I Looked At All The Uk Camper Conversions And Real
I looked at all the UK camper conversions and really think they are poorly designed. Most high tops cannot accommadate adults like the VW Westfalia. Westfalia build quality is the best. I have found that Camper Vans 4U is a great place for information about Westfalias and very helpful. They also offered an excellent trade in price for a T4 Westfalia with warranty and buy back option.

Having Travelled Europe In The Vw Westfalia Camper
Having travelled europe in the VW Westfalia Campervan for 6 months and being an importer and seller of these, I can highly recommend them. They maybe more expensive then the english conversions, but so are the german cars. Why, because they are made to last.

I agree that the autosleeper layout is better, however I am not at all keen on toyota Hiace as a van, the T25s have so much more usable size inside given the size of the van from the outside. T25s are true tardis's! Mind you conversions are personal taste, as are vans.
Depreciating factor on a vw westfalia t25 is 0%
also this design has been in production since 1958, I will however pass your comments onto westfalia if you like
Odd you should say the design is beautiful. I looked at one 3 yrs ago and the cupboard doors are much smaller than the autosleeper doors and therefore more difficult to use the space inside properly.
Left hand drive is a pain in UK too.
I bought a Toyota Hiace converted by Devon with the same layout as the autosleeper. Much nicer.
