Not Fit For Purpose
We bought a second-hand vehicle from this garage earlier this year. With it we were sold a 12month parts-and-labour warranty and it was delivered after they "serviced" it. One week in we noticed a problem and the dealer kindly offered to sort it out, so the vehicle went back to Williams Car Sales. 3 weeks later, after we complained about the long wait with no communication as to what was going on, we got the vehicle back. However it was soon evident that not only was the original problem still there but they appeared to have caused a new problem in the process of trying to fix it. The vehicle was returned once again to the dealer and came back to us 3 days later. At first it seemed everything was sorted, however one week later it completely broke down and we were stuck with a vehicle that would not start at all. We requested a full refund having discussed with citizens advice on the basis that the vehicle was not roadworthy and therefore not fit for purpose, but the dealer refused us this on numerous occasions. Eventually we had to get the RAC out as we needed to move the vehicle and we no longer had any faith that the dealer was able to fix it. The vehicle needed a new starter motor, a new timing belt and water pump and new gear control cables. According to the state of the air and oil filters, the vehicle hadn't been serviced for well over 12 months. Also, the warranty they sold us was actually for 3 months, not the 12 months they said it was. They have been referred to trading standards
